Chapter 1184: Chapter 748: Not Mentioning Important Things Earlier! Chapter 1184: Chapter 748: Not Mentioning Important Things Earlier! “Wait a minute, how did the Wandering God League know about our situation? Did you leak our information to them?” Anthony frowned and said, his tone a bit harsh.
Dimali hurriedly shook his head and waved his hands. “No, I didn't, I wouldn't dare. It was Garritt with the giant ears. It heard the Undead Army shouting 'Lord' and thought that the Undead Ruler had emerged. It also heard that we had captured many Ancient Gods and hadn't killed them, so it hoped for the Undead Ruler's protection. I didn't say anything; as soon as they contacted me, I reported immediately.”
Anthony stared deeply at Dimali, making him feel so uneasy that he kept backing away, much like a Stellaris student caught in the bath center of Goddess of Beauty City by Auburnli.
After a long while, Anthony dropped his gaze and asked, “What else did the giant-eared Garritt hear?”
“I… I didn't ask,” Dimali replied.
“Contact it,” Anthony ordered.
Dimali hurried off to get in touch with the other party, running and wiping sweat, thinking to himself, How can this plane's creature look so fierce when it's serious?
Negriss quickly asked, “Are you really planning to protect these weak Ancient Gods? I'm starting to understand why they're called the Wandering God League–each one's like a stray without a master, not very strong but a lot of trouble, typical gluttons. Just look at the ones we've captured; what use are they besides pulling carts?”
“Never mind the others, but I'm really interested in this giant-eared Garritt. It was also the one who heard the Abyssal Big Mouth turning over last time. If its perceptive abilities are indeed so formidable, then it's like having an extra set of eyes and ears in this Void, which could be very useful.”
“When the time comes, give it a God Status and arrange some Ancient Gods to protect it. If it likes to eat, we have Elf Beans and roasted fat worms, plenty of wheat and rice. If it needs something else, we have that too.”
“I wonder if it will need grooming like Big Cat? When the time comes, arrange some skillful attendants to groom it and catch fleas, or give it bubble baths or sand baths. If it likes looking pretty, we can arrange for it to have beauty treatments in Goddess of Beauty City or if it likes fun, send it to Scare Park or Stellaris Academy.”
“If it has other requests, those can be mentioned too. Anyway, with God Status, it doesn't need to stay in the Chaos Plane, it can go anywhere…” Anthony rambled on.
At first, Negriss understood, but was puzzled by the jumble that followed until Anthony gave him a meaningful look, and Negriss then suddenly realized and joined in, “Right, right, any conditions can be stated, but I wonder if it's as powerful as the legends say. Can it truly hear the movements of the Abyssal Big Mouth?”
“Exactly, if it can't even hear that, then it's of no use. We'll test it when the time comes,” Anthony replied.
It wasn't long before Dimali came running back, looking baffled, “It was hesitating at first, then suddenly it inexplicably agreed. It's ready to come over for discussions, asking me to fetch it to avoid the Undead Army killing it.”
Negriss and Anthony exchanged a glance and nodded, saying, “All right, you go. But can it even make it here? There's so much danger on the way.”
“Don't worry about that,” Dimali said, “Garritt can avoid all dangers; as long as it doesn't want to, no one can catch it.”
After finishing his words, Dimali flew away from the Plane, prepared to meet Garritt, while Negriss and Anthony immediately communicated through their souls, “You think Garritt could have heard our conversation.”
“Not think, but hope it could hear,” Anthony replied. “If it's concentrating on us and still can't hear our conversation, then its value is greatly diminished.”
Negriss' eyes widened: So that could work? So, the whole spiel Anthony said was to test it in advance?
It wasn't much later that Dimali returned, everyone looked behind him but saw no Ancient God following.
“Where's Garritt with the giant ears? Didn't you fetch it?” Anthony asked.
Dimali sheepishly smiled, then a watermelon-sized ball of fur jumped out from his hair and introduced itself, “I'm here, I am Garritt with the giant ears, I've arrived, you said there would be someone to groom me and catch fleas, and I can also request other things–I'd like a device that can filter out various noises.”
Anthony's face showed shock and disbelief, “You heard what we were just saying?”
The ball of fur raised two small arms, seemingly placing them on what could be considered its hips–if it had hips, that is, “Of course, I am Garritt with the giant ears, there's nothing in the Void that can escape my ears.”
Anthony hesitated, “Then… what about your ears?”
Garritt then realized, and above the clump of fur, two ears almost half the size of his body popped out, “I usually keep them closed because the Void is too noisy.”
The Void is too noisy… Everyone looked up at the pitch-black and dead silence of the Void outside the plane.
“It won't be a problem to arrange an attendant to groom your fur or to get you a device that filters out noise, but why do you need someone else to groom you? Can't you do it yourself?” Anthony asked, puzzled.
Garritt struggled to pull his little arms out of his fur but, despite his best effort, only his tiny paws were visible, even shorter than his fur.
“Alright, I understand, I will arrange for an attendant to groom you,” Anthony quickly understood and then asked:
“Is this your complete form? The Wandering God League hopes to be protected by the Undead Ruler, are you representing the Wandering God League here, or just yourself?”
“Of course, this isn't my complete form, but even in my complete form, my arms are short. I don't know why my arms are so short, yet my fur is so long, it's annoying,” Garritt said, troubled.
“I represent the Wandering God League; they hope to be protected by the Undead Ruler, and I represent myself, but I hope for your protection. I know you are not the Undead Ruler,” Garritt said.
Anthony and NEGRIS exchanged a glance, puzzled, “If you know we are not the Undead Ruler, why do you still hope for our protection? Why do you think we can protect you? Aren't you afraid we will capture you?”
“I've heard enough,” Garrit responded. “This place is very peaceful, your conversations are harmonious, and your pets even dare to get angry, steal things, and scold people; you are not evil people, I hope for your protection.”
Negriss pointed at Big Cat Lightning, “Stealing and scolding, but neither of them trained anyone. Which other pet trained someone?”
Garritt pointed at himself.
“Let me go, let me go, I'll kill this Big Ear creature! How dare it call me a pet, I'll kill it,” Negriss exploded in anger.
Anthony quickly embraced him, stating truthfully, “Don't be mad, don't be mad, you can't beat him.”
Despite Garritt's fluffy appearance, he was an Ancient God, not someone Little Fatty Dragon could defeat.
While calming Little Fatty Dragon, Anthony asked, “Since you've heard everything, we are very willing to protect you. But I still don't understand, your abilities should be enough for you to avoid all dangers in this Void. You don't really need our protection.”
Garritt hesitated for a moment, looked at Anthony, then at Ange. Even though Ange didn't speak, Garritt clearly knew who was in charge here, his attention mostly on Ange.
Finally, biting his lip, “I heard the Void Will and Abyssal Big Mouth's conversation; they said the Void is about to collapse.”
“About to collapse again? Could this early tide be because the Void is about to collapse?” Negriss exclaimed.
The old tree had earlier received information from its parent stating about the Void's collapse. Back then, the Tree of Ten Thousand Realms burnt itself to temporarily prevent the Void's collapse. Could it be that the balance maintained then had failed, and therefore the collapse was imminent again?
“Did you really hear the Void Will and Abyssal Big Mouth saying this?” Anthony asked again.
Garritt nodded vigorously, his round body nearly rolling forward.
If it were just Garritt saying this, they might have doubted it, but his words confirmed what the old tree had said before. Combined with the unexpectedly early tide, whether or not it was the collapse of the Void, they had to be prepared.
“And I also heard that the true body of the Abyssal Big Mouth has moved and is voraciously devouring everything and will soon reach here,” Garritt revealed.
Anthony and Negriss looked at each other, swearing involuntarily: “Such important news and you didn't say it sooner! How far away is it? Why does it want to devour everything?”
