Chapter 1140: Chapter 704 Don't Kill Me I Surrender Don't Hit Me I'm Afraid of Pain! Chapter 1140: Chapter 704 Don't Kill Me I Surrender Don't Hit Me I'm Afraid of Pain! “Useless,” Dark Wing cursed, feeling for the first time the incompetence of his subordinates.
Though his Ancient God Hunters ruled the Chaos Plane, aside from the Undead Ruler, they feared no one. How then did they falter at the sight of the Law Breaker? Constrained at every turn, the Starfire vanished without a trace, and the Purgatory Twins simply returned home. Could all this really be a coincidence?
This could not go on. Once the enemy exhausted his power, he would be doomed.
Dark Wing flapped his wings once, the wings immediately expanded and closed in towards the center, finally merging into a fissure around forty to fifty meters tall, slowly opening like a door–the Dark Gate.
From within the fissure, a continuous stream of dark aura flowed forth, forming a swirling mist, while a mass of fragmented auras fidgeted behind the door.
The name Dark Wing was apt, as nearly all his abilities were channeled through his wings. This Dark Gate was clearly some sort of space gate summoning magic.
Unfortunately, before the auras behind the gate could rush forth, a spatial fluctuation rippled through, tearing at the Dark Gate, causing it to twist incessantly.
A Giant Beast that had peeked through the fissure widened its eyes in fear, then swiftly retracted, disappearing in an instant. The restless aura behind the fissure calmed down.
Joking aside, a space gate, everyone would rush through it if stable, but the slightest tremor would scare them out of their wits.
This was far more terrifying than a suspension bridge between two mountains–an accidental twist could bisect a body. If unstable, no one would dare to traverse a space gate.
However, Dark Wing was not given the chance to stabilize the space gate. After the spatial fluctuation resonated for a while, it easily tore the Dark Gate to shreds.
Looking in the direction from which the spatial fluctuation came, Dark Wing saw a large furry ball, jaws agape: “Ahhh–”
“Dimension Beast? Starfire's Dimension Beast? Was Starfire captured by them? Grown so quickly? What did it eat to get so big?” Light of Creation shouted in surprise, “Why is Starfire's Dimension Beast with you? Did you kill her? No wonder my calls went unanswered.”
Everyone knew Starfire had secretly kept a Dimension Beast, but no one knew its size; they only knew it was very small when she first got it. Who knew it would grow so large in the blink of an eye?
The Light of Creation was merely guessing, for dimensional creatures were rare, and Dimension Beasts even rarer. It was difficult to encounter two at the same time, and he didn't recognize whether this was Starfire's beast.
But unexpectedly, his words became the last straw for Dark Wing to give up.
With a voice as if emanating from the abyss, Dark Wing slowly said, “I will return, foolish beings of the plane. You have successfully angered me. Prepare to face the wrath of the Abyss.”
As Dark Wing spoke, his aura and energy intensity skyrocketed, adopting a reckless approach. His wings expanded to their limits, each wing stretching forty to fifty meters. From a distance, it looked as if two giant chicken wings were supporting a mosquito.
However, Ange shuddered all over, a thought crossed his mind, and all his God Status retracted into his body. He then sniffed the Serpent of Misfortune's aura, his body trembling with shock.
Dark Wing forcefully clapped his wings forward, a single flap in front of him like palms swatting a mosquito, then all his power transformed into a black column bursting forth: “Abyss Breath!”
Ange only had time to transform, his bones instantly turning into Black Crystal, his arms raised to block the Abyss Breath.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
Tiny red sparks burst around the black column's outer perimeter, those were high-intensity energy tearing through space, creating spatial lightning. The strength of this black energy column was beyond imagination, as if it aimed to unleash all the Abyss's power in an instant, fierce and explosive.
After only three seconds, the black energy column disappeared. Where the energy column struck, Ange stood with arms raised, his body steaming, resembling charred ribs, his scorched bones twinkling faintly.
Dark Wing, having released all of his power, watched the scene in disbelief, muttering, “No… Impossible… How could this be?”
As he muttered, his entire form quickly turned to ash and finally vanished into nothingness.
Ange cautiously peeked out, saw Dark Wing reduced to ashes, and finally breathed a sigh of relief, lowering his hands. But the moment he did, he noticed something off–why were there specks on his bones?
Ordinary black crystals lack little speckles, like the one on the War Giant Tree's forehead and the small one the Goddess of Starfire uses for shopping–they're speck-free black crystals.
The specks are the essence of the black crystals. Without specks, it's just a black crystal; with specks, it's called a Chaos Black Crystal. The two are entirely different.
Ange's transformation couldn't produce specks; it remained just a simple black crystal. However, after being blasted by Dark Wing, the speckles appeared, not many, but they were scattered across all his bones, even on his toes.
Ange glanced incredulously at the spot where Dark Wing had turned to ash. Was this him bestowing power onto him? Should he return something of equivalent value?
Just then, the time limit for Ange's transformation ended.
The original duration for a dark crystal transformation was extremely brief, barely over a second, but enduring three seconds of the Abyss Breath had unexpectedly prolonged the duration to over eight seconds.
All the speckles quickly gathered towards his right arm, and the rest of his body reverted to its purple-gold color.
That right arm was a replacement for a Monarch, not subjected to the time limits of transformation. Now, all the speckles retreated there, making the specks incredibly dense.
With a firm grasp, Ange could feel the surging power within his right arm, an indescribable sensation.
Little Yellow Dragon flew over, anxiously examining Ange before heaving a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness, not a single shard of bone crumbled–scared me to death, Dark Wing must be insane, sacrificing his life just to strike you?”
Anthony also came over, still shaken, saying, “It may not be a death wish. Dark Wing was merely an avatar of the Abyssal Big Mouth, who decided to discard this avatar to strike you. I apologize, my lord, I overlooked this risk. We cannot allow you to take such risks in the future.”
Anthony indeed was scared; Ange was the soul leader of them all. If Ange died, they would all be doomed. Fundamentally, Ange should not have been taking such risks; the repercussions were too grave.
Ange didn't feel he was in danger and tilted his head, saying, “I, an avatar.”
“Ah, right, you're also an avatar.” Anthony then remembered Ange too was an avatar.
In truth, because of the twin Undead Godhood, Ange's bodies in both the Master Plane and the Star Burst Plane could be regarded as either the original or an avatar. If one was destroyed, the other would become the original, transferring Godhood and power effortlessly, greatly increasing safety.
However, the black crystal arm was only integrated into this body; the other did not possess such integration. Little did Ange expect the black crystal arm to be so useful; he already decided that one day when Locke was away, he would dismantle the black crystal body's other arm too.
If the Monarch returned now and saw the skeleton armless, what would his reaction be?
“It's good that nothing happened–so Dark Wing is dead? His last desperate struggle was terrifying. The energy burst nearly tore the fabric of space, even sparking spatial lightning. Horrifying. I was afraid you'd turn into a pile of bone debris,” Negris rambled on.
“Dark Wing is dead, Starfire is captured, and the Purgatory Twins have returned to the Chaos Plane, does that mean that the crisis of the Ancient God Hunter is averted? Wait, I feel like I'm forgetting something.”
Everyone turned around, only to see the Light of Creation curled up in the distance, trying to sneak away unnoticed until they turned their heads; he then stiffened up and waved awkwardly, “Hello everyone, just gathering? You gather; I'll be going now.”
Ange locked his gaze onto him.
Immediately, the Light of Creation clutched his head and yelled, “Don't kill me, I surrender, don't hit me, I'm afraid of pain!”
