Chapter 1137: Chapter 701: Taking 100 Female Dragons to Visit Naeli Chapter 1137: Chapter 701: Taking 100 Female Dragons to Visit Naeli “How has it become bright?” exclaimed the Light of Creation.
In the void, light travels in straight lines; where light strikes, it is bright, but the areas not directly hit remain pitch dark.
Since there are no particles in the void for light to scatter off of, places not directly illuminated are very dark, yet now, surroundings were brightly lit, with light everywhere, both in front and behind.
“Are these pollen particles scattering the light?” Dark Wing curiously asked.
Having figured out the reason, Dark Wing suddenly remembered something else, “Did someone yell at me? Saying I burned his field?”
As they spoke, Dark Wing and the Light of Creation turned their heads to see a purple-black skeleton holding a massive scythe stepping through the void, quickly advancing toward them, followed by rows of Holy Spirits.
Thousands of Holy Spirits, hands clasped in front of them, slowly flapping their wings, emitting holy radiance while their eyes also beaming light toward Dark Wing's direction–the Light from the Other Shore.
It sounded impressive, but it was just directional Illumination Spell that everyone had used previously in the Hall of Knowledge.
However, when this directional Illumination Spell was concentrated and cast, it lit up the entire void under the scattering of the air's particles, making everywhere dazzling bright with no dark corners left.
Darkness, at this moment, ceased to exist.
Dark Wing's gaze fell on the purple-black skeleton, “Undead? Holy Spirits? What about Divine Tree Elves?”
Although Dark Wing always said 'not necessarily,' this neatly organized creation didn't seem like the Elves' style, but he was still taken aback when a Dead Skeleton and a bunch of Holy Spirits appeared.
Even if they weren't Elves, would they be Undead? Undead and plants don't really go together.
“These must be the original Light of the Holy Spirits, aren't they said to be natural enemies of the Undead? How are they mingled together? Lord, are your Chaotic Holy Spirits cultivated following the structure of the Light of the Holy Spirits?” asked the Light of Creation.
Dark Wing nodded; it was no secret. Originally, an Ancient God had offered him a Light of the Holy Spirits. At that time, Dark Wing was short on manpower. Since the Light of the Holy Spirits possessed some intelligence, once he realized they too were manufactured, Dark Wing figured out how to create some. The Holy Light was too troublesome, so he switched to using Chaotic Power.
It was the Light of Creation who helped during their cultivation.
This was one of the few creations that caught the Ancient God's eye. The Chaos Plane lacked nothing except for obedient, capable, low-cost workers who did not need food and could work overnight.
Abyssal Big Mouth didn't quite like those intelligent beings; they were too much trouble to maintain as they needed food, clothing, and entertainment. They were not as useful as the Holy Spirits.
Unexpectedly, there were so many original Light of the Holy Spirits here, but it was strange to see them mixed with the Undead.
As he pondered, the Undead Skeleton had already charged forward, its huge scythe slashing diagonally down.
At Ange's current level of strength, the Scythe of Death was no longer the small scythe from the beginning; with a swing and a flourish, the scythe expanded several tens of meters, disproportionally large as if he was wielding a forty-meter long blade.
A Scythe of Death that large could cut swathes of land.
Dark Wing swung his hand, sending a similarly massive black wing to strike at the scythe, with a loud boom, a shockwave exploded where the wing and the scythe collided.
“Eh? Is it you? Law Breaker!” Dark Wing immediately recognized Ange.
The Void Will had tasked him with eliminating the Law Breaker, but he didn't actually know what the Law Breaker looked like; the Void Will had only given him a scent to identify his foe.
Originally, Alba had called him over, but before he could arrive, he was dispersed by the two Mournings, not getting a clear look at who had hit him, naturally making it even more difficult to recognize Ange.
Until this moment of confrontation, he had recognized the familiar aura of the Law Breaker, as identified by the Void Will.
“Notify Starfire, let her return, the Law Breaker is here,” Dark Wing shouted loudly.
As he spoke, another hand swept forward, and another massive wing materialized, releasing a volley of black feathers like arrows.
Ange's body stepped back, revealing a phantom–the Goddess of War and Peace.
She held a shield in one hand and a sword in the other, sending a stroke of sword light onto Ange's back, which immediately penetrated through his body, her shield positioned protectively in front of Ange–Guardian Barrier.
Countless black feathers struck the Guardian Barrier, creating a 'ding–', a long string of sounds that melded into one due to their density.
In less than a second, the Guardian Barrier shattered.
Observers like Negris and others at a distance inhaled sharply, having witnessed the Guardian Barrier shatter for the first time, and violently at that.
“This… Is it really that powerful?” The void battle was very quiet, with minimal noise and visual impact; from afar, it looked somewhat trivial, but the power demonstrated in shattering the Guardian Barrier indicated that the battle was anything but minor.
“No wonder the master didn't want us to get close, the Ancient God's energy level is too high, even a mere brush would be the end of me,” Anthony realized, having initially planned to help by restraining Dark Wing with the Holy Word Technique, but was refused by Ange.
“We can only rely on Feiti Harvey for help now. Where is Locke, has Locke arrived?” Negris said, “If he doesn't show up soon, I'll go to his palace to pee.”
From behind, a voice leisurely responded, “If you dare to pee in my palace, I'll take a hundred mother dragons to visit Naeli, it's Naeli, right?”
Turning around, Locke was leisurely floating towards them, not in his previous form of the Purple Gold Skeleton but instead dressed as an Annihilation Warlock with a high-collared, large cloak.
Little Fat Dragon immediately closed its eyes and collapsed on the spot, its consciousness slipping back to its original form and then projecting onto Ange.
Despite its frequent boasts about peeing on graves, it was actually most terrified of Locke; after all, it was Locke who had once dragged it back to the Resting Camp, dead as a dog.
“Lord Locke,” Anthony greeted.
“Mm, Piero, you're impressive, to think you've become the Pope. I've been name-dropping you on the Master Plane recently, and your name seems even more useful than mine. Had I known, I would have advised Your Majesty to summon you earlier, so I wouldn't have to worry about managing the plane,” Locke remarked.
“Lord Locke is too kind. Your innovation with the cemetery, maintaining order at minimal cost, is what I should be learning,” Anthony modestly replied.
“That was His Majesty's idea…” Locke mentioned.
Anthony awkwardly changed the subject, “Oh, it was His Majesty's idea, indeed. Beautiful weather today, isn't it?”
“…” Unable to continue the awkward chat, Anthony quickly turned back to the ongoing battle, “Dark Wing is quite strong, Lord Locke, are you confident you can detain him?”
Locke replied, “If I use the Annihilation Boundary, I'll be immobilized too. I'll resort to it only if absolutely necessary. Actually, according to your approach, Dark Wing may not be able to defeat one Ange, but can he handle eight Anges? It would exhaust him; okay, there are two Undead Gods now.”
A surge of black feather arrows shattered the Guardian Barrier and continued on to explode against the Guardian Goddess's shield with force.
Then Dark Wing was stunned to see, behind the goddess, two Undead Gods emerging, one on each side carrying huge scythes, and a skeleton popping up from above the goddess, holding a Lightning Spear, its gaze locked on him.
“Four… Three gods? Trinity? The Void Will mentioned something about the Law Breaker being several gods; could they all be one entity?” Dark Wing remembered the Void Will's words, suddenly filled with an ominous premonition.
Simultaneously, Light of Creation also shouted, “Sir, I've called for Lord Starfire but received no response; Lord Starfire is missing.”
Meanwhile, in the Dimensional Space, the missing Starfire Goddess was being chased by a Little Dimensional Beast, its licks leaving her face covered in saliva, both giggling non-stop, as she had just traded one of her few accessories for a small piece of Dimensional Space for the kitten.
