Chapter 1132: Chapter 696 You've Been Duped Chapter 1132: Chapter 696 You've Been Duped “Is this the 'bug hole' of the Hole Bug? Why choose such a strange name?”
In the Dimensional Space, Ange and the Goddess of Starfire crouched on the ground, with the small cat on the left and the big cat on the right, along with Negris and Anthony casting their presence on Ange's body–six individuals in total. They huddled around the Hole Crystal, studying it while one of them posed the question.
The Goddess of Starfire seemed bemused, “What else would we call it? Is there a more fitting name?”
“Uh…” Negris struggled for a bit, unable to come up with a more suitable name. Attractive names didn't fit, and fitting names weren't attractive.
The Goddess of Starfire was more concerned about another matter, “Do we really have to squat on the ground?”
Squatting at the edge of a field was a posture familiar to farmers, and although Ange and the others had grown accustomed to squatting together in a circle, the Goddess of Starfire found it uncomfortable.
Ange pointed at the small cat; he was squatting to accommodate it and didn't really mind standing if they preferred not to squat.
With a casual grab of the Hole Crystal, he stood up.
The small cat let out an excited howl, clutching Ange's hand and being hoisted up alongside him.
In contrast, the big cat leaped gracefully, jumping from the ground onto Ange's palm, over his shoulder, and onto the top of his head, where it settled in like a furry hat.
Seeing this, the small cat wished to jump onto Ange, leaping onto his wrist only to find itself confused.
There was already a big cat on Ange's head, and on both shoulders rested trees–one looking lazily half-asleep, the other curious, waving its True Leaves when it noticed the glance.
There was no room left… The small cat, looking pitiful, turned towards the Goddess of Starfire.
The Goddess of Starfire could only laugh in exasperation. She was the one who raised the cats, fed them, but they didn't come to her first when they needed something–ungrateful things.
Still, seeing the pitiful look of the small cat, she couldn't remain indifferent and picked it up into her hands, then glanced sidelong at Ange.
This Law Breaker was really strange, unlike any other Ancient God or Law Breaker she had encountered before.
Leaving aside the Law Breakers, the other was the Undead Ruler, someone even her Master God couldn't defeat. She didn't understand them thoroughly, but none of the other Ancient Gods had anything in common with Ange.
If she had to categorize, Ange was more like the small cat; both were pure of heart and simple-minded. She could almost guess Ange's thoughts–he just wanted to farm, everything else was too troublesome.
Could it be that it was his pure heart that attracted the small cat, to the point where it nearly forgot its own master?
While reflecting on this, she petted the small cat and watched Ange fiddling with the Hole Crystal. Despite his simple mind, she realized that Ange's abilities were terrifying–six gods in one… or perhaps seven?
The number of God Statuses was unclear, his Divine Techniques were innumerable, each with its miraculous use. That alone was remarkable, but the ability to combine different Divine Techniques to produce even more astonishing effects was extraordinary.
Aside from this, his knowledge of battle and farming was exceptionally rich. His combat experience was not at all like his innocent personality; he was as cunning as the most devious Ancient God.
It was as if a powerful Ancient God had crammed all their combat skills and experience into him. Considering the Bone Dragon Bloodline he possessed, one needn't guess–it was definitely that of a legendary Primordial Ancient Dragon.
A deity who was naive and yet cunning and powerful.
While the Goddess of Starfire was caught in her thoughts, Ange had already figured out how to use the Hole Crystal.
Hole Bugs' “bug holes,” as the name suggests, are the holes created by Hole Bugs. Initially, everyone couldn't understand why the holes made by Hole Bugs could be sealed inside a Crystal Stone, and in the end, they had no choice but to seek out the Goddess of Starfire before they finally had an epiphany.
“Hole Bugs can be considered the borers of the Void,” the Goddess of Starfire explained. “They gnaw away at the Void everywhere, creating a hole here, a hole there, turning the whole expanse of Void into something resembling Swiss cheese. Some holes even connect to form a network–one can enter one hole and come out of another.”
Now everyone understood, “A Space Passage?”
“Somewhat similar, but these holes are fixed. Enter one and you can only emerge from another specific hole. A cluster of holes might have a few, a dozen, or hundreds of entrances and exits. Different clusters of holes cannot interconnect, but they all remain stationary in one place. So someone thought of a method.”
“Some have used the method of spatial Boundaries to cut out the space around a hole's entrance, carry it with them, and when needed, throw it out and dive in, then come out of another hole, thus achieving the purpose of rapid transfer.”
Everyone understood, “It's like having a piece of cheese full of holes, cutting out one of the holes to place in the kitchen, while the rest of the cheese sits in the living room. The bug enters the cheese in the kitchen and then emerges on the cheese in the living room.”
What a thing, the Void Eating Worms truly left the Void riddled with holes.
Ange held the Hole Crystal in his hand, his thoughts naturally extending toward the other hole's entrance.
This particular Hole Crystal had three other entrances. One was very small, about the size of a head, and nothing larger could fit through; only consciousness could be extended out. That hole faced a Mist Zone, obviously lying on the edge of the Chaos Plane.
As for the other two holes, they were quite large. Ange measured them with the Ring of Balance and discovered that even the Conch Plane could fit through.
Due to the lack of relative coordinates, Ange was unaware of the exact locations of these two holes, only knowing the area around was pitch-black, devoid of anything.
Ange's consciousness retracted, and he described what he had seen.
“Only four holes? This hole cluster is really small,” Negris said, disappointed.
At first, there was talk of clusters numbering in the hundreds or thousands, but now to find just four was quite disappointing.
The Goddess of Starfire sneered, “Why would anyone exchange a large cluster of holes with you?”
That's right; they were previously unaware of the hole clusters, and there was no distinction between large and small clusters to them. Only a fool like the Little Demon King would exchange something valuable for them.
Anthony asked worriedly, “If there are holes connecting to the edge of the Chaos Plane, are there any that connect to our Planes? What if an Ancient God accidentally stumbles through one day?”
“You're overthinking it,” said the Goddess of Starfire. “If there were a hole connected to your world, would we have wasted half a year flying here? These holes are spread around the Chaos Plane because the Hole Bugs only gnaw around that area.”
Anthony breathed a sigh of relief, “Then I'm relieved.”
“Hehe, these holes, created by the random gnawing of Hole Bugs, are not intentionally established. Thus, they are unsupported, and no one knows when they will dissipate or collapse.”
“This act of cutting out and carrying away space further undermines the stability of the entire hole cluster. The farther the distance, the worse the stability. This location is too far from the Chaos Plane–likely, after one use, this hole will dissipate. You've been had,” said the Goddess of Starfire with a hint of schadenfreude in her tone.
If it had been a one-on-one exchange, Negris might have been raging by now. Unfortunately, the Goddess of Starfire misunderstood; this wasn't the main outcome of the exchange but an incidental one. The primary goal was to ambush the Little Demon King, which had already succeeded. When the time came to have him hand over other hole clusters, it would be fine.
This Hole Crystal inadvertently became an additional gain, so Negris didn't care much, and neither did Ange. Hearing it might only be good for one or two uses, Ange simply passed the Hole Crystal to Big Cat.
“Roar?!” Big Cat, unbelieving, widened his eyes.
“Roar!” Little Cat also looked on incredulously, envious and with wide eyes.
