Chapter 1124: Chapter 688: Lifting Up a Sphere of Light Chapter 1124: Chapter 688: Lifting Up a Sphere of Light Clunk! Had I mentioned “they” before just now?
Drosa carefully thought about it, realizing that he might have. Kvada, the common human language is really troublesome with its differentiation of singular and plural, and one could accidentally slip up.
Drosa quickly made an excuse, “Did I say 'they'? Oh, maybe it's because I'm not used to the human common language, I meant…”
Before he could finish speaking, he saw Anthony's eyes emit golden light and divine seals, smilingly watching him, “The Lord is watching you, continue speaking.”
“Speak…speak…” Drosa stuttered twice, only to see a silhouette seem to appear behind Anthony, tilting its head in a familiar posture, looking at him.
“The 'they' I mentioned refers to a group of low-level Ancient Gods like myself. We have formed a wandering God League, huddling together for warmth, exchanging information, sharing resources, and striving to survive in this cruel Void.” Under the watchful eyes of the silhouette, Drosa spilled everything about 'they.'
Simply put, it is an organization of low-level Ancient Gods struggling to survive under the oppression of powerful beings like the Undead Ruler, Abyssal Big Mouth, and Void Will. They call themselves the Wandering God League.
“Do you still have contact with them?” Anthony asked seriously.
Drosa shook his head desperately, “How could I? I've barely made it ashore, why would I contact them to let them compete for my ecological niche?”
“Yo, ecological niche? What does that mean?” This was a new term, Negris understood immediately but still wanted to hear Drosa's explanation.
“It's like you are the God of Knowledge, solving knowledge translations for adults, that's your ecological niche,” explained Drosa.
“Knowledge! Knowledge! God of Knowledge!” Negris roared, showing his teeth.
“Yes, yes, God of Knowledge. Anthony is in charge of diplomacy and internal affairs, silver coin manages finance and diplomacy, Little Zombie is a farming assistant, Little Angel is the cute one, everyone has their own place. My advantage is understanding the Void Ancient Gods, and whenever there is something related to Ancient Gods, you all ask for my opinion. If other Ancient Gods also come over, my importance would decrease, in an ecological chain I would be replaceable, and I'm not that foolish.”
Anthony nodded, “That's why you never revealed the existence of this Wandering God League, and you translated it as wandering gods, is there any significance in that?”
“Because everyone's goal is to leave the Chaos Plane and roam everywhere, hence called wandering gods,” Drosa explained.
Negris, perplexed, asked, “Isn't leaving the Chaos Plane an easy matter? You came here without any hindrance, just walk out, right? Why do you need to form an alliance?”
“It's not that easy,” Drosa couldn't help but give a bitter smile. “After leaving the Chaos Plane, what do we live on? Ordinary planes cannot support an Ancient God. Like the Bone Dragon and Serpent of Misfortune, once they leave the Chaos Plane, can you still find their trace?”
“Here, here, I'm here! Who's calling me?” Hearing someone call him, a serpent head popped out from a corner.
Drosa shrugged, “See, this is what happens when you leave the Chaos Plane, you can only act cute to survive, unable to sustain yourself. Ancient Gods who leave the Chaos Plane will keep weakening until they disappear. Like Nightmare Saya, it sustains itself on the fear provided by the intelligent beings of a whole plane, but many Ancient Gods don't feed on fear.”
“So you…” Negris hesitantly looked at Drosa, if Ancient Gods face extinction after leaving the Chaos Plane, isn't Drosa's true form, having come here, currently perishing?
“I possess a God Status bestowed by the Lord; although not strong, it's enough to sustain my daily consumption and prevent continuous demise,” Drosa stated.
Anthony immediately pinpointed a key issue, “So, if we want to leave the Chaos Plane, God Status is an essential necessity?”
“Yes, and it must be an ownerless God Status. A God Status with willpower may not be stolen easily. If those guys knew our Lord had ownerless God Status, they would go insane,” Drosa said.
“Hehe, it's best if they go mad. Drosa, let's talk about this Wandering God League. Do you have a way to contact them? I know you do. You can project thoughts from the Chaos Plane onto the Starburst Array, you can surely send them back from here too. How do you guys contact each other? How many Ancient Gods are in the Wandering God League? Which Ancient God is most well-informed? Which one has special abilities?”
Anthony bombarded him with questions, only to see Drosa's face grow paler and paler.
In the Dimensional Space, Ange was planting seeds in the ground, his thoughts occasionally sweeping towards the Goddess of Starfire in the distance.
This made the Goddess of Starfire extremely uncomfortable, and unable to hold back anymore, she loudly demanded, “What are you looking at? Have you never seen an Ancient God before?”
Ange cocked his head and continued planting, but after a while, he glanced at Starfire again.
“What exactly do you want to see? Can you just speak up? I'll let you see enough, stop looking over every so often, isn't it annoying?” Starfire said impatiently.
She couldn't run away now, the Abyss Wall was also retracted, and she had to stay until these people and Dark Wing reached an outcome, which meant she had to stay here for at least another month, with no way to block these occasional stealthy glances. She might as well bring it up herself and let him look his fill.
Ange quickly ran over, pointing at the location of her Sun emblem.
“Do you want to see this? What's so special about it?” the Goddess of Starfire frowned, she pulled open her garment revealing the Sun emblem with a big mouth. However, she dared not operate the Sun emblem for fear that Ange would rub the Starburst Array and bombard her.
Without her activating it, Ange appeared dissatisfied, “Swallow the sunlight, let's see.”
The Goddess of Starfire blinked in confusion, probably guessing what Ange meant, and couldn't help but snicker, “What do you think I am? Need to demonstrate it for you? You wish…”
Before she could finish, Ange turned and yelled at Big Cat, “Rawr!”
Big Cat came rushing over, depositing a small chunk of Dimensional Space Fragment in his hand.
Ange held it up to the Goddess of Starfire, “Take a look.”
It seemed the little cat sensed the flavour of the dimension, as it wriggled out from Starfire's collar.
Initially displaying an expression of disdain, the Goddess of Starfire's eyes suddenly lit up at the sight of the Dimensional Space Fragment, the drastic shift in emotions causing her face to contort awkwardly.
After seeing what it was clearly, the Goddess of Starfire forced a smile and asked, “How do you want to see it?”
Activating the Sun emblem, light immediately shot into the big mouth of the emblem, dimming the surroundings.
“Stop.” Ange commanded.
Starfire stopped, Ange looked around, then said, “Swallow.”
Starfire looked puzzled, this stopping and starting, could he discern anything about the power of the Abyssal Big Mouth?
Yet, for the sake of the Dimensional Space Fragment, Starfire cooperated and started operating it again.
After repeating several times, Ange nodded, signaling he was satisfied, then handed the Dimensional Space Fragment back to Starfire.
Oh my, finally a Dimensional Fragment to feed the little cat, Starfire eagerly took it, figuring out how to feed the Little Dimensional Beast.
For the Little Dimensional Beast, this was food, no need to study it, it snapped it up in one bite, both eyes curling up, revealing a content expression.
Starfire also stroked the Little Dimensional Beast feeling satisfied when she suddenly sensed some strange fluctuations. Turning around, she saw Ange tilting his head, holding up a ball of light.
