Chapter 1120: Chapter 684: Terrifying Energy is Brewing Chapter 1120: Chapter 684: Terrifying Energy is Brewing “A Mourning Skeleton rushed out carrying a thick scale. It's Feiti, Flash Feiti!!! Huh, where did the scale come from? Whose scale is it?” Negris exclaimed in shock as he narrated.
Thank goodness it wasn't a Dragon Scale, otherwise the painful scene of it being used by Ange as a shield for the Dragon Head would have resurfaced. But if it wasn't a Dragon Scale, what other scales could Ange possibly have that were harder than Mourning Bones?
If the scale wasn't harder than Feiti's bones, then carrying the shield would be pointless and would instead hinder Feiti's mobility.
A snake head popped out and said weakly, “It seems to be mine, that day Little Zombie led people to pry off several of them.”
“What? That's horrendous, how could they treat you so cruelly? I'll find some delicacies to make it up to you,” Negris said with a heavy heart.
The snake's face revealed a helpless expression, “If you didn't have that schadenfreude smile on your face, I might believe you. But it's not cruel; it's just some dead skin. Consider it helping me exfoliate.”
Flash Feiti, carrying the Serpent of Misfortune's scale, soared into the sky and instantly collided with the Goddess of Starfire.
Feiti's flash ability was a unique skill it gained upon awakening, compressing the space in front of it. It only took a step, but because the space before it was already compressed, it crossed the distance between them in an instant and appeared before the enemy.
It was almost like teleporting, and few could react in time. However, the Goddess of Starfire did react. With a downward flick of 'Starfire' in her hand, she struck it against the scale atop Feiti.
Boom! Feiti rushed up at the speed of a flash and flew back down with the speed of a meteor.
The Goddess of Starfire also lost the Starfire she had just condensed and stood there empty-handed, dumbfounded.
There was no time for her to be stunned. Ange had already caught up, stretched out his hand, and a row of explosive fireballs shot towards her.
But the Goddess of Starfire didn't even bother to dodge, letting the fireballs hit her squarely. Ange's Giant Dragon's breath had not burnt her, so naturally, these exploding fireballs with a maximum power of only level six could not hurt her either.
That's why Ange had been disinclined to cast spells; ordinary magic was no longer injurious to a Chaotic-level Ancient God. The magic now was more of a probe, which the Goddess of Starfire simply ignored.
“That mature Dimension Beast is yours, isn't it? This is a trap, right? You heard our conversation, didn't you?” the Goddess of Starfire asked a series of questions.
Just as she was considering catching a mature Dimension Beast, one appeared in the thicket, feigning panic with wide eyes. Thinking back, the Goddess of Starfire realized she had fallen for it.
But how did they know she wanted to catch a Dimension Beast?
“The War Tree, is that yours as well?” The Goddess of Starfire suddenly realized the critical point. She had been in the enemy's lair for so long, babbling away, and they had heard everything, laying a trap specifically for her.
The Goddess of Starfire guessed wildly and, astonishingly, guessed it all correctly. However, Ange paid her no mind, hammering away at her, sending the Goddess of Starfire scurrying in all directions, looking utterly haggard.
After some deadlock, the Goddess of Starfire discovered something alarming. Ange's aura hadn't weakened in the slightest; each attack was as forceful as ever, whereas her own strength was rapidly depleting.
Is he draining me?
Realizing this, the Goddess of Starfire's gaze quickly swept the ground, and she immediately spotted Feiti, Flash Feiti, sneaking half its skull and eye sockets out from a haystack, peering at her with narrowed eyes, ready to strike at any moment.
The Goddess of Starfire felt a headache coming on.
From the few rounds of combat with Ange, she had a good sense of his strength. His close-range combat ability was slightly stronger than hers, but he was much slower. Without employing the Bone Dragon's spatial abilities, Ange wouldn't be able to catch her.
This should have given her the space to ready the World-destroying Starfire, but Feiti's presence blocked that opportunity. No, even without Feiti, Ange could still prevent her World-destroying Starfire, though having Feiti made it a bit safer.
Her head throbbed with pain, and she realized how disadvantaged she was, dragged into a Dimensional Space. If she couldn't break the Dimensional Space and secure a larger one, Ange would grind her into dust right there.
“No choice left, time for the ultimate move. O most majestic Abyssal Big Mouth, devourer of the Endless Void, with your power, cleave through the boundless Abyss and come before me! Endless! Abyss Wall!”
The Goddess of Starfire suddenly stopped, her hands coming together then pulling apart, as the phantom image of a wall manifested, enveloping her within.
Ange rammed into it headfirst, thudding loudly, a bump quickly swelling on his forehead, which then subsided just as fast.
What a tough defense, the Endless Abyss Wall? Ange punched it, to no effect.
“You're quite good, forcing me to use my ultimate move. This is the absolute defense bestowed upon me by my lord, the Abyssal Big Mouth, the Endless Abyss Wall. It's connected to the Endless Abyss itself; the power of the Abyss is the power of the wall. To break this absolute, unless you possess the power to explode the Abyss, haha, do you? You do not, but I do,” the Goddess of Starfire said excitedly. She held up her hands as though cradling something, and a speck of Starfire condensed in her palms.
Her heart ached, oh how it ached. The Abyss Wall was a gift from the Abyssal Big Mouth, an absolute defense condensed at the cost of an entire Abyss. Without the strength to explode the Abyss in one strike, it was impossible to break through.
This kind of Divine Artifact was meant to be used against the Primordial Gods, not wasted here. Faced with an opponent whose speed and mighty moves weren't as strong as hers, a being of the Bone Dragon Bloodline, she was forced to exhaust such an artifact. Her heart ached.
Grinding her teeth, the Goddess of Starfire spoke word for word, “Once I break out of this Dimension, I will strip off your scales one by one, grind your bones to dust, and bury them in the soil to enrich the land.”
With the words of the Goddess of Starfire, the vibrations of the World-destroying Starfire slowly intensified.
Ange pounded the Abyss Wall with hundreds of punches to no avail. He quickly transformed into Locke and gave it several hundred more punches, still with no effect. Flash Feiti also rushed out, slamming into the wall with a flash, only to be flung away at high speed.
Forget breaking the Abyss Wall; there wasn't even a scratch. Clearly, the Abyss Wall could self-repair, just like a Plane Barrier. If it couldn't be destroyed in one blow, it was virtually unbreakable.
Feiti too was becoming desperate, “What should we do? Should we call everyone in to blast it apart?”
Ange shook his head, dispelled all transformations, and simply levitated in place, extending his arms flat out to the sides, like the beam of a cruciform Libra, as the Ring of Balance appeared behind him simultaneously.
Meanwhile, one figure after another bubbled out from his body, manifesting various phantoms.
Among them were two towering, pitch-black figures, one behind the other, as if miming a lifting gesture.
Feiti recognized these two shadows at a glance: “Lord?! Two Lords? Undead Godhood?”
Indeed, it was the manifestation of the Undead Godhood, for the third phantom was Ange in a coarse cloak–God of Farming.
The fourth phantom resembled a human female, not unlike Gailard–Goddess of Beauty. When Ange had first tried to imagine what beauty was, everyone had said Gailard was the most beautiful. Clueless about true beauty, he simply used what he had–Goddess of Beauty.
The fifth held sheaves of wheat with a kind gaze, yet her face bore the likeness of Lisa–Fake Goddess of Harvest.
This masterless God Status had long been stolen by Lisa since all of the Harvest Goddess's followers were tending fields for Ange.
The sixth was a lecherous looking Bronze Dragon, and the seventh…
As such a lineup of God Status manifested, it left the Goddess of Starfire dumbstruck, particularly when that benevolent-looking goddess turned her gaze upon her, and she felt a warmth in her belly.
“What Divine Power is this, able to penetrate the wall and affect me?” the Goddess of Starfire panicked, quickly circulating her power to block the other's gaze, and that strange sensation subsided.
However, an even more shocking event was about to unfold. With both Undead Gods hefting, Ange rubbed his hands together, and a huge, intricate Array slowly took shape, and a Terrifying Energy capable of exploding the Abyss started to brew.
