Chapter 1080: Chapter 645: Truth Cannon and Red Star Chapter 1080: Chapter 645: Truth Cannon and Red Star Negris spoke of “them,” not “it,” because there was another one.
A disheveled old man floated over, pointing at Red Star and shouting with righteous indignation, “The truth! It's here!” A phantom of a Starburst Array immediately manifested on his shoulder.
Before he could let it rip, another of Grisly's giant legs came stomping down, flattening the scruffy old man as well.
Though in the Bronze Book, these two Heroic Spirits were manifestations, they were so noisy, even louder than Little Angels and Little Zombies. Normally, Negris would separate them onto different pages and then project them out of sight, but every time he opened the Bronze Book, it was bound to erupt into chaos.
The scruffy old man was somewhat better, not attacking Negris, but Red Star didn't care, flashing at anything it saw. And now, even the Soul Fire had been burst by its flashing.
Although the bursting of Soul Fire within the Bronze Book didn't affect its ability to search its memories, bursting was still bursting, and it could never be put back together again.
Having such a fool in one's own space meant that one day, it would surely be the death of annoyance.
With a tilt of his head, Ange pondered for a moment, then took the Shay from Durken's hand, gripping it as he stared intently at it. Immediately, powerful waves of Faith Elemental Force surged around him.
The dead Shay trembled violently, like an electrocuted dead snake, trembling and morphing at the same time.
Watching this scene, Negris exclaimed in astonishment, “You're infusing it with the power of belief? Can that be done? It's dead already.”
These questions from Negris were just out of sheer surprise, not inquiries, because without needing an answer from Ange, it already saw the answer.
The Shay that resembled a dead snake slowly transformed while trembling, first extending a torso, then arms and legs, followed by a head, quickly taking on a human form.
“My word, what an ingenious concept. These Shays feed on fear, and fear essentially is a type of Faith Elemental Force, just intensely stronger. These Shays consume fear and can manifest shapes based on the content of fear. Those 'hairs' are mere manifestations of fear; if you infuse them with different beliefs, they can manifest different forms based on your belief.”
Negris quickly explained, always maintaining the demeanor of the God of Knowledge whenever the topic did not touch upon blind spots in its knowledge, prompting Durken to nod incessantly.
The dead Shay, with Ange's infusion, rapidly grew into a human form, but fundamentally, it was still an Ancient God body that fed on beliefs, incomparable to regular human-like creatures in both strength and other aspects.
But a robust body requires an equally robust soul and consciousness to drive it. Where could one find a robust soul?
Ange extended a finger, igniting a flame of Soul Fire, and with a gesture of his other hand, the thick breath of death fervently swarmed towards him.
With both palms facing inward, Ange pressed hard, then upon releasing, he had condensed a Soul Heart in his hands.
Durken felt a chill down his spine. Though he was a Witch, this sort of illusion at the soul level could make one's 'teeth ache' even in the absence of teeth.
Because he was now a Soul Heart himself, Ange had casually created a soul of the same caliber as him…
But on closer thought, it made sense. Wasn't it normal for the Undead God to casually create a Soul Heart?
“Hmm, alchemy is my greatest treasure, not souls. If I only pursued souls, wouldn't I end up like that foolish bonehead, Locke?” Durken comforted himself, pressing on his heart, to prevent feeling overwhelmed.
Stuffing the soul into the body, and with a robust soul in place, where then, could one find a powerful consciousness?
Ange opened the Bronze Book, extracted the consciousness of Red Star, used Red Star's power to carve a soul imprint, and then inscribed it onto the Soul Heart.
Having stuffed Red Star back in, within the Bronze Book, Red Star stood there dazed, a strange expression on its face.
Negris poked it with the tip of its tail.
Under normal circumstances, Red Star would have burst its head with a Red Star Flash, but now it just stood there dumbly, not even sparing Negris a glance, sensing a new kind of connection.
Stunned for a while, Red Star finally hesitated and took a step forward, his thoughts instantly projecting onto the body that lay on the ground, which based on the deceased Shay and irrigated by Ange with the power of faith, suddenly opened its eyes.
After seeing clearly what was before its eyes, it froze again.
Ange ignored it and pulled out Shay's adult head from Inside the Temple of Rest, chopped off a section, and stuffed the remainder back in.
This adult Shay's head was sizeable; it contained enough volume to infuse several human-sized bodies.
Following the same procedure, another body, similar to a disheveled old man, gradually took shape, but because it lacked hair and beard, it didn't look scruffy at all, instead giving off a bit of a bookish vibe.
Durken frowned and recognized after a while, saying, “I think I've seen him before, hanging in the first portrait of the Starburst Array Hall of Fame, that's him, what's his name?”
Durken pondered for a long time but couldn't recall the name, yet remembered the deeds clearly, “The Starburst Array was overseen by him during its construction, though the technology belonged to Drosa, he is the one who built it, oh, I remember now, he's called Cannon of Truth Walker.”
“Oh, he had a title? United Sorcerers? Was he of high status?” Negris exclaimed in surprise.
“High, he was the chief of the United Sorcerers, the only chief, and after he died, Your Majesty infiltrated the Sorcerer Alliance and never took the chief position from him, so to this day, he's still the chief sorcerer of the alliance, a very powerful magician, Locke said, when he was alive, His Majesty always had a headache with this guy, it's just a pity, lifespan is the biggest enemy of the life species.”
While they conversed, Ange also formed another body and imprinted Walker's consciousness into the soul.
Unlike Red Star, Walker, after sensing for a moment, boldly took a step, projecting onto the body.
Looking left and right, touching his face and hands, he perceived his entirely new mode of existence, and curiosity slowly appeared in his eyes.
Red Star… Red Star…
Walker heard a familiar voice and turned his head to look.
Just as Red Star mumbled and looked up, the two locked eyes and simultaneously took up positions…
“Red Star Flash!”
“Truth!”
Nothing happened; this was reality, not the space within the Bronze Book, and any skills were subject to power limitations, not just released on a whim.
“Red Star Flash!”
“Truth Cannon!”
After several stubborn attempts, realizing they couldn't release anything, the two simply rolled up their sleeves and started to scuffle.
Negris, satisfied, closed the Bronze Book and returned it to Ange's hand, then projected back into his own body, contentedly flying away with Ange.
As Ange and his group walked into the cavity, Durken shared his own construction ideas:
“My lord, after inspecting the cavity here, I had an idea. We can draw all the Breath of Death from the ground into this place and then seal it. Next, we'll drill several fine holes toward the surface in another direction to create points where the Breath of Death is dense, which will be convenient for the Undead to move around.”
“With no Breath of Death in other areas, crops can grow more easily. Then, we'll fill the sealed cavities on the outside with water to raise aquatic life, like coldwater fish, which can also be used for irrigation and drinking water, and can increase the quality of the plane.”
Ange nodded, summoned skeletons that brought in loads of broken bones, and asked the Little Angel to come and smash them all. Under Ange's manipulation, a wall formed at the narrowest part of the cavity, sealing off the pointed part of the cavity shell and then thickening gradually.
Under the saturation of Soul Energy, the bone dust ultimately merged into one piece.
