Chapter 1064: Chapter 629 Poisonous Beast Corps Chapter 1064: Chapter 629 Poisonous Beast Corps Lightning was bewildered when he was dragged over, complaining, “What do you want me for? Why run so far? I still have to face off with someone, I'm the main damage dealer in my team, without me, they're doomed. Can't you just tell me directly?”
Aestolia said bluntly, “Lord is looking for you.”
“Lord? Which Lord? Ah-” Lightning's whole body shuddered, and he clenched his buttocks in fear. Other than Ange, there was no one else who could make Aestolia call them 'Lord.' Even with Queen Gallardia, she only ever said 'Your Majesty.'
The Teleportation Array first sent them to the Resting Abyss's world transfer station and then to the Holy Kingdom. Taking a deep breath, Lightning trotted into the void, “Lord, it's me, Lightning! I'm here to see you.”
But as Lightning got closer, his pace slowed down, starting to feel weak and shaky in the knees because he was surrounded by a bunch of Thunder Titans and Gold Titans. These were all the Lords of Thunder.
Purple Corpse being just a Mixed-Blood Titan had a tough time disciplining him, and if he didn't use his mouth, there were many he couldn't beat.
Hesitating whether to turn and run, Lightning then saw Ange and the captured Tyranus in the middle of the area. With this scene, his little brain started working overtime, imagining all sorts of things, which suddenly made him stand tall and proud as he strutted into the center.
Upon reaching the center, Lightning leapt to hug Ange's leg bone, “Lord, Lord, I missed you so much! You're finally back, it's been so long since you rode me.”
Anticipating this, Ange used his big foot to resist Lightning's horse face, pushing him aside.
Negris couldn't help but sigh, “It's the same familiar scenario. That's Lightning for you, impossible to impersonate.”
“Eh, Lord Nage, you're back too? Your new wife didn't crush you to death, huh?” Lightning said, surprised.
Clank, Negris got a bad feeling in his heart, “What new wife?”
Lightning explained, “The new wife from the Other World! Duroken said you found a new Dragon Clan, and the Clan Leader is a beautiful female Red Dragon. Everyone said, 'Lord Nage must have taken a new wife, that's why he didn't want to come back for so long!'”
Negris roared angrily, “What 'everyone said'! It must be you, you stinking horse, spreading these rumors. Ange, chop it up, let me out and I'll squash it!”
Nage couldn't wait to pull out the Bronze Book and smack this foul-mouthed horse to death; he could already imagine what a furious state Naeli must be in.
“No, no, no, it's not about me. It was your dragons themselves who said it! Lord Naeli curses about that Red Copper Dragon and Mildity every day; it's not about me.” Lightning quickly denied.
“Really not you?” Hearing the name Mildity, Negris immediately believed it. How could Lightning know this name? It must have been uttered by Naeli in a fit of rage.
“Really not me, I just spread the word around a bit…” Realizing he'd slipped up, Lightning quickly covered his mouth, but it was already too late.
“Let me out, let me squash it, let me out and squash it!!” Negris exploded in rage.
When things finally quieted down, the Serpent of Misfortune found a chance to chime in, “Lord Lightning, it's me, Little Snake!”
Lightning was shocked, “You're Little Snake? Such a 'big' Little Snake? How come you're here?”
“Humph, how do you know it? Confess honestly, if you don't answer well, I'll have Ange break off your horn,” Negris said, still seething with anger.
Lightning seemed puzzled, “I met it at the House of the Deceased, where it was the worst arguer in our Poisonous Beast Corps.”
Ange and Negris were stunned, “House of the Deceased? You have access to the House of the Deceased? Poisonous Beast Corps? Arguer?”
Lightning looked confused, “Of course, what's so strange about that? Everyone can, the House of the Deceased is really fun.”
After some explanations, Negris finally understood what the House of the Deceased was all about.
The House of the Deceased was originally designed by Durken as a public Soul Network. Its main core is the Relay Spirit. However, before it was constructed, the Faith Storm struck.
The Undead King implemented Durken's design in the Star Burst Plane, and it worked very well. Naturally, Durken didn't keep it to himself. After reporting to Ange, he sent back the blueprints and other design materials through the Resting Camp, asking the Great Sage to find a way to implement them.
Even the core Relay Spirit was ready-made. The Land of Fallen had Relay Towers, and by simply pulling the Relay Spirit back, a public Soul Network could be deployed across the Master Plane. It retained the original name, the House of the Deceased.
Such an amusing thing was not to be missed by the ever-bored Lightning and Gaur, who joined in at the first opportunity. But what could they possibly find entertaining in the Soul Network?
Arguing? Chatting? Those were Lightning and Gaur's specialties. Hence, an arguing squad known as the Poisonous Beast Corps formed with Lightning and Gaur at its core. Most members were those who'd been verbally thrashed by Lightning, and if they couldn't out-argue them, they joined.
“The House of the Deceased can be played with like this?” Negris was completely baffled when he heard Lightning's vivid description of their antics.
Lightning said proudly, “Of course you can. If someone copies our masks, I'll go and curse their masks as face-rotting, insisting that the ones from Goddess of Beauty City are better. If someone claims our silk underwear is uncomfortable, I'll curse them for not knowing quality and for having coarse skin that snags the silk. Grandma Lisa even praised me for being amazing.”
“…” Negris was rendered speechless. The House of the Deceased was a public Soul Network. What is a public Soul Network? It's a great web connecting all planes, and yet it ended up like this because of their meddling? He really felt like strangling this foul-mouthed horse.
Negris turned to Ange: “Has Durken reported this to you?”
Ange tilted his head in confusion.
Negris was so infuriated he wanted to leap out and hit someone again. That dead skull would forget anything not related to planting.
However, at least this proved that the Serpent of Misfortune wasn't lying and indeed knew Lightning. No wonder its smug expression and tone were exactly the same; it might have learned them from Lightning.
The Serpent of Misfortune said, “I was indeed heavily influenced by Lightning. I usually use the Ancient God Language and don't talk much. Only after connecting to the Soul Network did I realize how complex human language could be with its combinations.”
Negris understood this all too well. The Dragon Language used by giants dragons was similar. Despite how powerful Dragon Language Magic seemed, the language itself was limited in expression.
It was mostly daily vocabulary like eat, drink, sleep, get angry, and such. Even the word 'wear' didn't exist in Dragon Language, as giant dragons don't wear clothes.
Therefore, giant dragons also use human common language for their daily communication.
It's not only the giants dragons; Dwarves are the same. Only Elves stubbornly use their cumbersome Elvish language. When encountering nonexistent words, they quickly invent new ones, which is why ancient Elvish and modern Elvish have such significant differences.
And since they are long-lived, communication between a thousand-year-old Elf and one just a few decades old often results in a dialogue of the deaf.
The Serpent of Misfortune's language repertoire was not rich because it didn't need to speak. It was only after joining the Soul Network that it discovered a whole new world of expression.
So inevitably, its way of speaking was influenced by Lightning and Gaur.
“Alright, now that we know your contribution to maintaining the balance of the world, we will award you an honorary badge and a bonus later. Hand over the Titan God King to us,” Negris said.
The Serpent of Misfortune chuckled, “Lord Nage is jesting. These Titans came from another world, circumventing through the Void. Don't you want to know from which world they come? How they got here? Is there any powerful existence in that world?”
“If there isn't, couldn't we follow the route the Titans used to come here and check out this new world? Little Snake is willing to be your vanguard, slaughtering our way into the new world, just give me a few Abyss Dimensions and a bit of population later,” the Serpent of Misfortune said confidently, as if making a huge commitment.
Ange tilted his head again, while Negris was also intrigued. So, the Serpent of Misfortune didn't know from which world the Titans came? It wanted planes and population?
