Chapter 1062: Chapter 627: Let Me Borrow It Chapter 1062: Chapter 627: Let Me Borrow It Negris was just as shocked, “What happened? How can you transform into the Muscle Dragon God again? Didn't you say that form needed recovery time?”
Ange pointed towards the direction of the Serpent of Misfortune, “Serpent.”
“Serpent? What serpent?” Negris paused for a moment, then quickly realized, “The Serpent of Misfortune!? Is the Serpent of Misfortune here? Did you sense it and that's why your Dragon Soul boiled over?”
Ange nodded.
“That's great, go, kill the Serpent of Misfortune, help our Dragon Clan eliminate this archenemy! You don't have to bear children; the Serpent's Divine Technique won't work on you. Go, kill it,” Negris shouted excitedly.
Ange refused, “No, the one who burned the fields, first.”
“Ptui–” Negris spat out blood, the lure of their natural enemy did not tempt Ange even while transformed into a Dragon God; his obsession to kill the person who burned his fields transcended bloodlines. That Dead Skull was hell-bent on vengeance, making one wonder who else would dare to burn his fields.
Heaven's Fortress moved forward unstoppably, rolling into the Titan's sensing electric field.
As the Void Fortress of the Church of Light, Heaven's Fortress possessed the ability to move quickly through the Void and could break through Plane Barriers to deploy troops, making it a very powerful weapon of war.
However, controlling it was not an easy task. It had several modes of movement, the first being summoning mode. By using the Staff of Heaven at the summoning point, it would automatically move to that point.
But the downside was the lack of control; the movement path was very random and a slight mishap could send it crashing into a spatial rift, such as the environment above the Land of Fallen, resulting in its complete destruction.
The second mode was preset mode, such as moving closer to Resting Abyss when it was sensed, only to be stopped by the Resting Wind.
The third mode was active control, which was actually the job of the God of Balance. Only his Ring of Balance could weigh all things and navigate through the pitch-black Void, avoiding dangerous objects.
For instance, the dimensions of a spatial rift could always be measured. To the God of Balance, these dangers were very obvious.
Unfortunarely, Ange was currently busy and could only look ahead; in the control room, the Goddess of Redemption was stepping on the Control Array, driving forwards while screaming, “Ah! I don't know how to operate this thing, help! Move, move, we are going to crash!”
But no matter how she tried to turn or adjust the direction, Heaven's Fortress relentlessly rolled forward, crushing over the Titans' chariots, their faces, their bodies, bursting them into pieces.
The shadow on the ground rolled its eyes, grumbling discontentedly, “If it's going to crash, just crash. Why move aside? Why make turns? Just crash directly where the crowd is, really, what were you thinking, treating this like driving a Magic Carriage and giving way to pedestrians?”
“Where did Anthony go? I'd rather be his shadow than the shadow of Redemption; so noisy.”
“It's a little strange, the barrier strength of Heaven seems to have been enhanced a lot, and its power output too. Has anyone done maintenance on it?”
Amidst the muttering from the God of Shadows, Heaven's Fortress charged through the Titan's sensing electric field and crushed two Titans, causing the rest to scatter and flee.
Ange immediately leaped out, wielding the Lightning Spear in reverse grip and began skewering the Titans, impaling two before a whip of lightning struck towards him.
This whip of lightning was twice as thick as before, and Tyranus stood atop the Thunder Chariot, with a continuous stream of small electric sparks linking him tightly to the chariot.
Unfortunately, he was now attacking Ange in his Dragon God form. As the whip of lightning drew near Ange, it visibly slowed before Ange leaped forward and appeared in front of another Titan, saying, “You burned my fields.”
Muttering to himself, he attacked the Thunder Titans and Gold Titans, determined to clear out the smaller enemies first.
After skewering four or five more Titans, Ange's transformation time expired, and he reverted to the purple-gold Mourning Skeleton.
Tyranus exhaled a long breath, preferring to face the slow but sturdy Mourning Skeleton over the elusive Dragon God. At least with the former, you had a chance to run if you couldn't hurt it.
However, his relief was short-lived. Ange first erected the Guardian Barrier, then doused himself in a ring of Concentrated Worm Ash Essence, then pulled out a barrel of Liquid of Breath of Death and with a hard shake, turned the entire barrel into mist in an instant.
Ange's Mourning Soul thrashed wildly, and with a strong inhale, the Mist of Breath of Death was gone in a sweep, with his spirit reviving with vigorous pulsation.
Then, he glanced deeply in the direction of the Serpent of Misfortune, and some hidden potential was instantly activated, the scales on his body surging up again.
“Kvada! You're not killing the Serpent of Misfortune first but keeping it around to activate the Dragon God Transformation at any moment? That works?” Negris was so shocked he almost jumped out of his skin.
Not killing the Serpent of Misfortune has this kind of effect? Could it be that the Dead Skull did this on purpose?
Ange had no time to answer. Instead, he popped two Fruits of Life into his mouth and leaped forward.
Such consecutive transformations consumed a lot but who would complain when Ange had so many good things? Insect Ash Liquid regenerated the dead, Fruits of Life rejuvenated the living, and the Liquid of Breath of Death restored the soul. As long as these resources were plentiful, Ange could wear down all enemies.
Once again, the situation entered garbage time. Ange focused on attacking the Thunder Titans and Gold Titans, and Tyranus tried to intercept him but couldn't stop a Dragon God darting around.
“Damn it, everyone, gather around me!” Tyranus shouted loudly.
But instead of gathering, the other Titans frantically fled into the distance.
Tyranus had an ominous feeling and, turning his head, he saw the gigantic Heaven's Fortress taking a wide turn and rolling back thunderously.
Tyranus finally despaired. Forming a force field would get crushed by Heaven's Fortress, and without it, he would be broken piece by piece. Ever since arriving in the void, the enemy mysteriously managed to transform repeatedly. Kvada, had he been tricked again?
With that thought, Tyranus could no longer hold back and started shouting, “Why aren't you taking action yet! What are you waiting for, take action!”
The voice of the Serpent of Misfortune emerged leisurely in his mind, “I know, I'm just waiting for the opportunity. You hold on, I'm looking for the right angle. I almost got discovered just now.”
“Can you even do it? You're his natural enemy, you should be evenly matched in a head-on battle, so how come you can't find an opportunity while ambushing?” Tyranus questioned.
The Serpent of Misfortune chuckled, “Who told you that I'm the Dragon God's natural enemy? It should not have been 'Dragon God' but 'Giant Dragon' instead.”
Tyranus paused for a moment, “Right, Giant Dragon. The Dragon Clan themselves said that, claiming you're the natural enemy of the Dragon Clan.”
“And do you know who told the Giant Dragons that?” the Serpent of Misfortune pressed on.
“Well… it seems to be from their bloodline inheritance, told by the Dragon God.” Tyranus said.
The Serpent of Misfortune sighed, “Yes, told by the Dragon God. Have you ever seen idle folks who capture a snake, grasp its neck, and then scare children with it: look, a snake, a snake… I am that snake, used to scare the Giant Dragons. How could I possibly be the Dragon God's natural enemy?”
No sooner had the words fallen than Tyranus suddenly felt something off around him. Before he could react, a huge snake head shot out and bit him.
“Hey, you're biting the wrong person, that's me you've bitten, are you blind!” Tyranus, now truly panicked, learned to curse, even using the words the Serpent of Misfortune had hurled not so long ago.
The snake head retracted into a phantom, its four sharp fangs piercing into Tyranus's body and holding him tight. The voice of the Serpent of Misfortune spoke up, “That's right, I'm borrowing you for a moment, as a gift to the Dragon God.”
“You–!?” Tyranus was so shocked he was speechless.
The Serpent of Misfortune sighed, “Can't help it. The moment he started watching me, I knew it was trouble. The Dragon God engraved something in their bloodline, something that allows him to transform anew at the mere sight of me. I wanted to ambush him when his transformation was over, but this means I have to face a Dragon God who can transform at will…”
“Kvada, so it was you who caused him to transform again. Tell me, did you lure me into the void just to team up with him and trap me?!” Tyranus shouted angrily.
The Serpent of Misfortune paused, then with a smack that sounded like a slap on the thigh, he exclaimed, “That's right, it was I who tricked you into coming to the void, then stimulated the Dragon God's potential to allow him to transform repeatedly and align with me to wipe out you invaders. Yes, that's it, you've got it exactly right.”
Tyranus was dumbfounded. What did he mean 'you've got it exactly right'? Had he not thought of an excuse when he took action?
Before he could figure it out, the voice of the Serpent of Misfortune had already spread, “Lord Ange, it's me, Misfortune here. I've caught the Titan God King for you.”
