Chapter 1009: 578 Chapter 1009: 578 Ange retreated to his original body at the fastest speed, turned around, and walked toward the Teleportation Array, but after only a few steps, he stopped, puzzled: What is this place…
The end of the Eternity Road had completely transformed; it was supposed to be a linear path, but now it had become 'a vast area'.
A giant snake was huffing and puffing, dragging a large piece of 'flat ground' along the Eternity Road towards its end. Once in position, it pushed this 'flat ground' to the edge of the 'vast area', where several Necromancers were casting spells, tightly connecting the 'flat ground' to the 'vast area'.
It was truly hard to describe the scene, as it appeared flat, like large and small 'stone slabs' floating in the void, with the Eternity Road as the apex joining these 'stone slabs' together to form an even larger slab.
Without a doubt, these stone slabs must have been dismantled from the Eternity Road, including those Farm Barriers. Now, with the Purple Gold Skeleton as the apex, a large number of Farm Barriers extended out, forming a 'flat ground' in a fan shape, combined with 'roads' solidified from the lava, creating a plain that stretched as far as the eye could see.
The Farm Barriers released air, creating a high air density over the plain that was breathable for normal humans. As a result, a large number of ordinary people, Elves, Dwarves, and other creatures were active on the plain.
However, there were even more various Undead creatures because they could reduce the consumption of various resources to the minimum.
The farms were planted with a variety of crops, and the areas outside the farms were not idle either. They were covered with Luminous Moss and various types of mosses and mushrooms, clearly employing Ange's innovative Underground City farming method.
Some small animals that fed on moss hopped about, each plump and robust.
For over two months, Ange and his party raced along the Eternity Road, where all the animals they saw were emaciated. It was rare to see any with meat on their bones. And now these little creatures had grown plump?
Once plump, naturally, they were to be eaten. Several people looking like chefs picked out the particularly fat ones, caught them in cages, and muttered, “So fat, you've eaten too much, we'll eat you tonight.”
This change… wasn't it too drastic? Ange was momentarily stunned on the spot.
Finally, someone noticed Ange. Lisa emerged from a tent not far from the Purple Gold Skeleton, peeling off her facial mask. She was about to stretch lazily when she saw Ange looking around in surprise and screamed, “Lord? My Lord! Ah!! You're finally back, you've finally returned.”
Lisa rushed over, grabbed Ange's hand tightly, and hopped around, too excited to speak.
Hearing her scream, a Witch, Shamara, the Goddess of Redemption, and Auburnli emerged from the tent, each with a silk facial mask on their faces, looking as white as hanging Zombies.
Ange cocked his head in confusion.
Lisa immediately understood his gesture. If the Little Fat Dragon was the best interpreter of Ange's speech, then Lisa was the second-most understanding of Ange. Negris relied on knowledge; Lisa relied on attentiveness.
With a tilt of his head, she understood what he meant and hurriedly explained, “You've been away for so long, and I got so excited all at once. I've accumulated too much to report to you. If you're not in a hurry, listen to me.”
Ange's head tilted to the other side.
“No, you must listen. If you have urgent matters, I'll follow you and talk on the way,” Lisa insisted.
Ange sighed, his shoulders sagged, standing in place.
Lisa triumphantly raised her little fist. It wasn't easy to make Ange yield, but it was hard for Lisa too. What could she do when a boss disappeared daily, making it impossible even to report for work? Who would know her hardships if she couldn't report the work she had done?
“First, since we have the Teleportation Array, we can now confirm the coordinates here, so the Eternity Road is no longer necessary. I've gathered all the Farm Barriers from the Eternity Road here, forming a plain of one thousand square kilometers with an available cultivated area of sixty thousand acres,” she reported, tugging at Ange.
Ange straightened up. This kind of topic interested him.
“For those areas where we can't cultivate, I've also arranged for various mosses and mushrooms to be planted, then prioritized the breeding of some small animals from the Eternity Road. Now we can sustain quite a few creatures.”
“Because we dismantled the Farm Barriers, those creatures that depended on the barriers for survival have also been gathered here. Many are still very fierce; I gave them a good beating, and now they're much tamer.”
“However, with increased production activities, water is in very high demand, which is a problem I can't solve. Using the Teleportation Array for transport would be very costly, so for now, we can't sustain too many creatures here. Those that consume a lot either have to be sent away or slaughtered.”
“… That's all; I've finished reporting,” Lisa finished reporting with a tug at Ange.
Ange nodded, indicating that he understood. He glanced at the distant Teleportation Array and simply couldn't be bothered to walk over. With a pull and a tug of his hands, a Teleportation Array formed in his palm, and then he slapped it onto the ground.
A bright light flashed, and Ange teleported away.
“Uh… Aren't there any instructions? Lord, really,” Lisa said in frustration.
The next time Ange appeared, he had already arrived at the World Transit Station. The leather ring in his hand shone brightly, revealing a screen of light. Ange passed through the film of light and returned to the Resting Palace.
Unlike the usual reaching in with a hand, this time Ange's whole body personally returned.
He flew to the top of the main hall immediately, stood on the platform, and invoked his Undead Godhood. In an instant, Ange felt countless information rushing into his soul from the whole Resting Palace.
Indeed, the Undead Godhood was the soul that powered the palace. When it returned to its place, the entire Resting Palace felt like it became Ange's own body, and he could clearly sense where there were deficiencies, damages, or areas of decay.
Ange focused his attention on the damaged and aging areas. The missing parts slowly grew back, and in no time they were sealed. The aging parts shed their 'skin' layer by layer. As the dirt and filth fell off, the whole region looked new again.
After renovating the entire Resting Palace, Ange still felt a certain emptiness, as if his 'body' was missing something. He carefully sensed around and suddenly reached out as if grasping and pulling.
The whole process, of course, was a figment of his imagination since the Resting Palace didn't actually have hands. Yet, as he imagined this movement, the right side of the Resting Palace began to rumble loudly and then suddenly split open with a large gap.
On the other side of the gap was a dead silent space filled with gravestones and mounds. Countless pale phosphorescent fires floated in the air. A dozen Skeleton Zombies sat up in the tombs closest to the gap, looking over blankly.
Recognizing this familiar environment, Ange knew where it was–the Land of Slumber.
The Land of Slumber, which had once broken away and got lost in the Dimensional Space, was now reconnected with the Resting Palace at this moment.
However, most of the Undead had already been transferred out, leaving only a few scattered ones.
After a thorough sensing and finding no missing parts, Ange left the Resting Palace and teleported to the Light Sea Plane.
Diving into the Light Sea Plane, Ange found an open area and grabbed the leather ring on his wrist, pulling hard to create a large screen of light.
This was another use of the teleportation film. Only after Ange invoked the Undead Godhood did he finally understand all of its functions.
As soon as the light screen appeared, fresh water immediately flowed into it under the force of gravity, pouring into the Resting Palace on the other side of the screen. Once inside the Resting Palace, the water seemed to be guided by an invisible channel, flooding into the Land of Slumber.
In the Land of Slumber, those scattered Undead were attracted by the newly emerged rift, converging from all directions. Before they could even take a step to explore the Resting Palace, a surge of water flooded in.
The Skeleton Zombies chattered their jaws, cursing as they tried to run, but they weren't far before the water swept them in, gulping as they floated into the distance.
The entire Land of Slumber was filled with water. Ange emerged from the Light Sea, found a sandy area to release a Teleportation Array, first teleporting to the World Transit Station, then through it, he transported to the end of Eternity Road.
The end of Eternity Road was too far from the Master Plane, hundreds of thousands of kilometers away; a common Teleportation Array couldn't transfer over such a distance, and one had to jump through the World Transit Station.
Stepping out from the Teleportation Array, Ange found an open space and called Lisa over.
Chapter Five Hundred Seventy-Seven Bye-bye
Before Lisa could even speak, Ange pulled open the light screen, and a column of water burst out, drenching her completely.
Along with the water column, a few Skeleton Zombies came along, shrieking as they clung to Lisa, who, with one hand per creature, threw them all off.
Ange cocked his head and asked, “Where to now?”
