Vivian clicked her tongue.

 

Up ahead and heading towards her was a sunflower monster.

She didn't move and just waited for the monster to come to her.

 

Ugh…!

 

Why this…?

 

I can't punch this…

 

Hmm… 

 

I already have 11 tails with me now…

 

4 left and I can go back to the Adventurer's Guild and collect my reward…

 

Which, of course, will be used to repair my broken shoe…

 

Wait…!

 

Even if I get it repaired, it's not like it will be magically repaired right away, right…?

 

And I still have to go outside and take another quest…

The sunflower monster finally got within her attack range and she immediately swung one of her sticks.

Right after she bashed the sunflower monster to death with a stick, another monster appeared.

 

A trunk monster came bursting out of the bushes.

 

Vivian dropped one of her sticks and ran away to create some distance.

 

She saw a rock and picked it up.

 

Woooh!

 

Braaak!

 

A part of the trunk monster's body shattered which caused it to stop for a moment before resuming rushing towards Vivian.

 

"This is really bothersome."

 

Vivian dropped her remaining stick and took out a stone from her satchel.

 

Woooh!

 

Braaak!

 

When the stone landed and shattered another part of the monster's body, she dashed forward.

 

Pah!

 

Thud.

 

She delivered a flying kick, causing the monster to crash to the ground and she also almost lost her balance when landing because of the uneven terrain.

 

She then rushed over to the trunk monster lying on the ground.

 

Bam!

 

Bam!

 

She drove two fists into the shattered parts of the monster.

 

Whaaack!

 

Whaaack!

 

The monster whipped Vivian with its branch-arms and a thin red line appeared on her right cheek and left arm but she just gritted her teeth and squirmed her hands inside the monster's body. When she finally felt the edges of its shell, she grabbed onto them and pulled out in the opposite direction.

 

"HAAA!!!"

 

Craaack!

 

Fragments of the monster's shell and green fluids scattered all around and on Vivian.

 

Thud.

 

Thud.

 

Vivian dropped the broken shells on her hands and then looked at her hands that was covered with green liquid.

 

"That was too messy…"

 

She wiped her face with her right arm and noticed a red smudge on the sleeve of her shirt.

 

Her eyes glanced at her left arm.

 

There was a thin red line starting from her bicep to her forearm. Fortunately, the blood wasn't running down her arms and was slowly clotting on top of the wound.

 

"I'm destroying my beauty…" she muttered under her breath and shook her head.

 

She moved to the side, knelt down on one knee and then began wiping her hands on the grass.

 

"Never doing that tactic ever again…"

 

After cleaning up herself and picking up her items, she resumed roaming around the forest.

Vivian clicked her tongue because there were 2 trunk monsters rushing towards her.

 

"Why can't these monsters leave me in peace?!"

 

She dropped the sticks on her hands and took out 2 stones before running to the side so that the 2 monsters formed a straight line.

 

Once the monsters got into the position that she wanted, she threw a stone using a skill.

 

[Power Throw].

 

Woooh!

 

The stone penetrated the 2 monsters, shredding their thick shell like it was nothing and killing both of them immediately.

 

Ding!

She thought about it for a minute and then shook her head in the end.

She closed her Status Panel and then went over to where she dropped her sticks.

 

As she bent over to pick them up, a fox suddenly jumped out of a bush and lunged over her.

 

"Shit!"

 

Thud!

Thanks to the fox's momentum, it managed to push Vivian to the ground and immediately tried to bite her face off.

 

"AAARGH!!!"

 

Grrr…!

 

Vivian covered her face with her left arm to block the fox's jaw and it ended up sinking its fangs into her forearms, causing her to cry out in pain.

 

Pah!

 

Arrrwww!

 

Thud!

 

Vivian punched the fox's head with her other hand, causing it to yelp in pain and fly a few feet away before landing on the ground.

 

Vivian got up and checked her left forearm.

 

There were puncture wounds from the fox's bite and it was secreting droplets of blood that were slowly mixing with saliva.

 

She glared at the fox with bloodshot eyes and she gritted her teeth so hard that her jaw started to ache.

 

The fox got up and bared its teeth as it stared at her.

 

She quickly moved forward and grabbed one of her sticks.

 

The fox, on the other hand, charged and then leaped at her with its mouth wide open, ready to bite Vivian once again.

 

Whaaack!

 

Arrrwww!

 

Thud!

 

Vivian swung her stick and managed to hit the fox in mid-air.

 

She immediately rushed towards where the fox landed and raised the stick with two hands before swinging it down with all her strength.

 

BRAAAK!

 

Arrrwww!

 

The stick landed on the fox's head and snapped into two.

 

Vivian changed the position of the remaining stick on her hand and held it like a stake before stabbing it down.

 

Chaaak!

 

The stick sunk into the fox's neck and it began choking to death.

 

However, Vivian didn't stop.

 

"TRY FUCKING BITING THIS!!!"

 

Bam!

 

She began pummeling punches on the fox's face.

 

Bam!

 

Craaack!

 

Bam!

 

Craaack!

 

Bam!

 

Bam!

 

Vivian finally stopped to catch her breath.

 

"Haaa... Haa... Haa... Ha... Ha..."

 

When she looked at the fox, it was no longer breathing and its face caved into an unnatural shape that its eyeballs were about to pop out of its skull and blood and other things were coming out of its eyes, ears, nose and mouth.

 

She wiped her lips with the back of her hand.

 

Spit!

 

And then spat on the fox's corpse before getting up and examining the wound on her left forearm.
