A letter to book friends in the New Year
The Jade Rabbit brings blessings and good luck to you. Bajiao would like to wish all book friends: health, peace, happiness and success in the new year.
This book was started on March 2, 2022. In fact, just thinking about the title took me almost a month.
The editor will kill you every time you think about it. If you can't come up with a good book title, you won't write it for me. I really want to take a big bite out of the editor. Ha ha…
In the end, it gave me a lot of inspiration, so I wrote the book "Zhan Zhumen".
Last year I was fortunate enough to meet you all, and received all kinds of support from you, including likes, comments, recommendation votes, monthly votes, rewards, character rewards, etc. There is also great support from friends on other sites. Because I can't see everyone's names, I can't express my gratitude. I would like to solemnly say thank you to everyone for your support.
Bajiao is grateful.
Zhan Zhumen's success today is inseparable from the support of all our friends. Although I sometimes feel bad when I read the comments and have ups and downs of emotions, I can't help but watch them secretly. After reading everyone's comments, I realized my own shortcomings, which prompted Basho to make corrections and make progress.
Every comment is made because you care, and every word you type is made out of love. Only when you read the article will you fall in love with it, just like when you see a dissatisfied child, you will type all kinds of comments. Basho would like to thank every book friend who wrote a review. Thank you.
Bajiao's writing skills are insufficient and his coding speed is also slow. He always has to think over the story and type out the details over and over again. He also has to check and revise the words repeatedly after coding. That's it, there are still a lot of typos, thank you to the friends who helped Basho catch insects. Love you all.
In response to everyone's urging for updates, Basho has never been able to do so, and has never made any real updates. He is unworthy of everyone's support. I hope that next year I will be able to code faster and more diligently so that I don't get lazy all the time. Haha...especially on weekends, I want to stay in bed. Ha ha…
Every interaction with everyone moved Basho. Because of the mask ban, I didn't make any preparations, and my family lacked everything. My face was allergic, it was itchy and red, and there were red lumps and bumps. I couldn't buy cosmetics or medicine, and I was so anxious that I cried. Everyone left messages to suggest which medicines to use, how to deal with it, and shared their own similar experiences.
It just feels very warm. It makes me feel that I am not alone in a strange city. I am very touched and love you.
If there is anything particularly interesting this year that I want to tell you about, it would be making a thank you list. That was really fun.
The thank you list began with Basho typing out the words one by one on the keyboard.
Making a thank you list will take at least two hours. I can even code one or two chapters of the article. Basho began to think of shortcuts.
Later I discovered that word documents have a voice input feature. Then I started trying to use voice input.
But you know voice input, whoever uses it knows it.
For example, if you have a friend named "Zhang Jie" and read it to the computer, "Zhang Jie" will appear. There are also "Yan Ting", "Jian Lin", "A Dang Nanny"... At this time, you will find that our Chinese characters are broad and profound, and there are so many homophones and words with similar sounds!
No matter how many times you read it, the word you want will not appear for you.
Then you have to change it manually. This change will make typing faster. (Turn your lips ~ complain... curse!)
There are also names that include English letters plus Chinese characters, uppercase and lowercase letters, and symbols, such as "Xiaohui", "祽子_aE"...
When voice input can be accurate enough to display the names of various elements on documents, don't forget to tell Basho when the time comes.
There are also many friends whose names have both simplified and traditional Chinese characters. Some of them can be recognized by Basho in traditional Chinese characters, such as "Jinling 888" and "Qianli Qinshu".
When I encounter traditional Chinese characters and cannot type them (the stupid author uses Wubi to type), I can only ask Du Niang for help. Search for the traditional Chinese characters of the word, then copy and paste it. This operation lasts for one second, two seconds and three seconds...many seconds have passed.
I also have some friends whose names have several traditional Chinese characters, and they are often characters that Basho doesn't recognize.
Every time I knock, I want to curse. Ha ha…
What's even more outrageous is that many of my friends' names use some special symbols, and I still don't know how to type them out. For example, for my friend "Symbol + Rabbit Chi Da Carrot", I have never been able to type out the previous symbol.
(Even if there is no symbol, you can display this friend's name on the document in a phonetic manner! I will definitely pay for it. Humph.)
There is also a friend's name, the “Jing” in the middle of “symbol+jing+symbol” is still a variant of jing. I have never been able to type the name. There were a bunch of results from Baidu's heart-shaped image number, but none of them matched. I would like to apologize to this friend here. It's not that I missed your name. On the contrary, I remember your name very well. The stupid author couldn't type it out. (But it is noted in the list)
cry…
But voice is not without its benefits. If voice typing is faster than typing on the keyboard, it is only with numbers. Friends who are too lazy to even pick a nickname are just a long series of numbers.
The voice recording is very fast and accurate. At this moment, I wish everyone's names were just a long series of numbers, haha...
So for friends like "Who is my Queen Mother?" "Manman Girl" and other friends who cast monthly votes several times in a month, I will remember the name I have typed and will not type it a second time. But if there is a long series of numbers, I can't tell whether they have appeared before, so if anyone votes again, I will read it again. There will be duplication in the list.
So now I use keyboard typing and voice typing combined with input. I am in a hurry, I have to change the keyboard to change the pronunciation, change Wubi to Pinyin, switch between Chinese and English, and then change the case...
Although the pronunciation is useless, the number can be said quickly, so the speed needs to be improved a lot. A thank you list can be written in about an hour and a half. Although the time is not short, compared to everyone's support for Basho, Basho is willing to call everyone's name and keep everyone's name in mind.
With an eternally grateful heart.
Also, I would like to express my special thanks to my friends who have always voted for recommendations. Friends who insist on voting every day have a deep love for Basho and are the greatest support for "Fighting the Giants". There are too many lists so I didn't type them out.
Bashō bows to you.
By typing everyone's names, Basho discovered that many of his friends had very unique and thoughtful names, which gave Basho a lot of inspiration. Basho learned a lot from them in choosing names and setting passwords.
I have talked so much without realizing it.
The time is now 9:36 in the morning on January 15, 2023, and Basho typed out this New Year's message at Terminal 2 of Pudong Airport.
●It rained and snowed in Shanghai today. When I arrived at the airport, I saw falling snow. I haven't seen it for many years. Can you imagine that I originally had a flight at 8 o'clock in the morning, rushed early, and got up before 5 o'clock, but for some reason I had to change my check-in time to 12 o'clock! That feeling of collapse.
Just like that feeling of getting up early and catching up with a late gathering. (Ah! The groundhog is calling~)
I had no choice but to find a corner in KFC on the second floor, kill time, and silently type out this speech. I don't know when it will be posted in the article. There is no broadband port in the village and I use a hotspot to share it. Can you imagine the Internet speed in the village where it takes a long time to read a news article? I have to carry a computer to town to use. I was very worried.
Originally I wanted to code a chapter, but anyone who has been to the airport knows that the terminal is noisy and there are no tables. This KFC has a lot of empty seats, but the music is so loud that it seems like the electricity bill is free. It was so noisy that I had no inspiration. My mind is empty and I can't piece together a plot.
Have talked so much again. Scroll up, oh my god, there is so much nonsense written. I was probably too bored waiting for the opportunity.
This book will probably be finished later this year, and the new article is already being conceived. It will be online at the end of February or early March, but the title of my book is really useless. I am afraid that people will scold me for naming it. If you can't come up with a good book title, you won't know when it will be published.
Looking forward to seeing every familiar new and old friend in the next book, and looking forward to continuing to walk with you all the way.
“You know the rain at night through the window, but the sound of bananas comes first.” Thousands of words can be combined into one sentence of the most sincere gratitude.
Thank you to all the book friends for supporting "Battle of the Giants" in the Year of the Tiger. Basho is often moved by you. grateful. I wish each of you, your family, happiness and peace in 2023, and that whatever you want, your dreams can come true.
Finally, I wish everyone all the best in the Year of the Rabbit, and the new year will be better than the old one!
Happy rain on a banana night
