Dungeon Core Online Chapter 117

Published at 28th of October 2019 01:25:05 PM Chapter 117: 117

Chapter 117

Choosing the armor for his Avatar didn't take him all that much longer . Mainly because, there weren't really that many options to choose from, and because, the stat increases for the armor weren't all that impressive .

When it was all said and done, he had opted for a hybrid between his second floor and third floor item sets . The second-floor set was just too cool to pass up . And while the buffs weren't all that great, what his third floor offered him, he just couldn't pass up .

As such, by the time Rue had finished selecting her cosmetic upgrade, which, to James's amusement, was an aura that seemed to surround her entire form in icy wind, fitting given her black striped white fur, James had his Avatar gear set up .

"That's what you're wearing into battle?" Rue was looking his avatar up and down, nodding approvingly . She had opted to equip her barbarian berserker with the post-apocalyptic steampunk dinosaur armor, which made her look even more fearsome . The part of her attire James really liked, was the fact that her Battle Axe, because why wouldn't Rue have a giant battle axe, seemed to be made from the blades of the Steamosaurus's, panzer form .

"Yeah, not all of us can just go for post-apocalyptic raider . " James grinned, still enjoying how good it felt to actually be in a real body . It might be elven, but it was close enough to human to not matter . Besides, anything beat flying eyeball with tentacles .

Rue purred in response, a deep sound that seemed to reverberate throughout her body, as she hefted her battle axe . "All the better to terrify our enemies with . "

"Well, you're definitely terrifying . " In fact, James was feeling a bit underwhelming besides her . She was, after all, a seven-foot-tall, humanoid esq white tiger beastkin . He, was standing roughly five foot six, was built extremely slimly, and looked more delicate that fierce . As a spiritualist, he didn't even have a weapon to choose from .

Instead, He had chosen the steampunk leather armor set, and put on a cloak from his third floor . It was made from Giant Plaython skin… . er…cloth? And had the unique ability to constantly shift colors to try and blend in with the environment . Nifty, yes, extremely helpful, not really . He also, happened to be sporting the top hat that the Terminus Dropped, because, why not .

"Right, so what's next, oh wise and powerful Glyax?" Rue was grinning, scarily, as she eyed him . He wasn't sure if it was her animal features, but he almost felt like she was sizing him up, as a snack .

"Er, I need to check on the Core Room, and see what all is going on there . " After all, the Avatar's were extremely important, but they had done all they could with them for now . He would likely come back a little later, to experiment with his skill sets, but that was later . For now, he needed to use the slight time advantage he had on BLANK, to ensure everything was set up .

"Alright, to the Core Room," Rue pointed a finger in front of them, and a portal appeared . Without another word, she leapt through . As her form passed into the portal, it seemed to blur in a strange way . As James followed her, he realized why .

The moment he passed through the portal, he was forcibly changed from his avatar form, back to his dungeon core form . Ugh . James had really been hoping he could stay in his avatar form . It was just much more comfortable for him, and now that he knew he had a physical humanoid form he could access ;the floating eyeball was getting old, quick .

Maybe in an update? If he had that long, he would definitely see about making it allowable for him to use his Avatar . Of course, he also didn't see why he couldn't just hang out in the Avatar training area and manage all of his monitors from there . That way, he could stay in a humanoid form, and keep doing his dungeon functions . That was, obviously, reliant on him winning this dungeon war . Which, he completely intended to do .

"Ohhh, look, it IS a laser . " Rue was back in fairy form and was flapping her wings excitedly as she hovered over to his actual core . Atop it, in a semitransparent form, was a massive, weapon . The core canon was after all, complete .

It sat atop the core and seemed to almost be linked to the massive core via multiple legs, that almost seemed to punch into the core . From there, various wires and tubes snaked around it . Underneath the core, there was now another attachment as well, which seemed almost to be a giant, furnace, connected to the bottom of the core . Above it, in simple letters, it read Essence deposit .

"I hate to admit it, but it really does . " James had been expecting a cannon . It was called a core cannon . But it literally looked like a freaking laser . Like, cliché laser, straight out of a spy movie, where the big evil bad guy would strap a laser to the moon, or maybe a shark's head, or something . What James was most concerned about though, was how exactly that laser was going to work against his opponents .

As he prepared to open the dungeon core wars notes he received, he noted what appeared to five new generators around his core as well . Lines connected each of the generators together, and they moved into the middle of the floor, directly underneath the core, and connected in various crisscrossing ways . The center, where they met, had another furnace, exactly like the one connected to the bottom of the core . On it, again labeled simply, was Essence Deposit . James decided to ignore the fact that the core shield was set up underneath it like a pentagram, and simply took note that both items would require essence, in some way shape or form .

How, was the next question . He really needed to know how this aspect of dungeon wars was going to come in to play . So, without another wasted moment, he got to reading .
