The internet had to be the gift of the gods. At least, at this moment in time, that was what James was thinking. He had already known most cores had shied away from any of the goofier dungeon types, and as far as he knew, he was the only person that had chosen the risk of being random. Therefore, the number of dungeons that were listed as having candy mobs, was narrowed down to just a handful. And, the icing on the cake, was that there was only one of those dungeons that existed in PST.

Unsurprising, it was for a large town in California, the home of many of the large game developers. It made sense, that Xander's kids lived there.

Eagerly, James lost himself scrolling through the forums. It was great, it really was. The players there had not only listed out mobs and all the information gathered on them, but they also listed details about each floor of the dungeon, and a breakdown of drops, and estimated percentages for the various gear.

From what James could find, the players situated in the very heart of game developer territory, were rather in depth and methodical. James had a feeling that the player base in BLANKs dungeon likely consisted of more than a few game developers, or aspiring game developers. Along with probably pro gamers of various levels. Of course, DCO was a game in and of itself, and had many unique features, so even if the player base for BLANKs town were pros in different games, it didn't mean they instantly had the edge in this battle.

Actually, from what James could find, it actually might prove to be in his favor. While there was a plethora of knowledge to be gained from the subreddit, he was also noticing quite a trend. First, it seemed some of the players were pissed about the mob types. It seemed many were getting quite bored of fighting candy monsters, the novelty of which had apparently worn off after the first floor. Second, it seemed a lot of them were extremely pissed off at BLANK. Of course, they didn't know BLANK existed, but the players were pissed at the dungeon. It seemed BLANK's mass wipe event had not been as well received as James's. And for good reason.

While James had created a massive world boss, mob swarm type event, that players were likening to a horde event, it seemed BLANK had gone with a more…. Xander-esq method. It seemed BLANK had actually been crafting its dungeon in very much a Xander-esq method, choosing to completely optimize its mobs to create highly destructive, efficient, deadly sweets. Which was making the difficulty spike in a way that players weren't liking. BLANK's methods reminded James completely of Xander. They didn't care if their players were having fun, all that mattered to them was they were the top dungeon. BLANK didn't seem to care at all about the fact that, without its adventurers, it wouldn't be able to grow as fast.

So, with BLANKs mobs already being rather efficient at killing adventurers, it made sense the dungeon was growing at a faster rate than James's had been. What sky-rocketed BLANK into Tier 3, was a mass wipe of dick proportions. James's mass wipe had been limited to his first-floor instance. BLANK apparently had simply mass summoned world bosses across every single one of its instances, on both floors, in front of the exit to their candied dungeon. Because unlike James's dungeon, BLANKs actually was a sprawling candy dungeon. Meaning when the world bosses spawned in front of the dungeon exit... every player within the instance was doomed. Moral of the story, BLANK was a duo of dicks, just like their father. And they apparently had terrible people skills.

The more James read about BLANK's dungeon and how the dungeon seemed to be acting, the more he couldn't help but feel his confidence growing. He still had no idea how dungeon wars would work, of course, but from what he could see, while BLANK had fully optimized its mobs and dungeon layout to be as deadly as possible, it's player base, on the other hand, was not.

The players moaned about rare equipment drop rates, and it seemed BLANKs player base was not leveling as efficiently as James's players were. While BLANK had a handful of elite players, who had reached the 30s, the spread into the 20s and 10s was extremely uneven. James, on the other hand, had a rather nice spread, which his top players, the Knight's, Skar's party, and a few others all managing to break 30 this last immersion, and a lot of other players in the 20s and 10s. The Great Dickening had actually helped catapult quite a few teams to level 20, unlocking their first subclass option. This meant, from a player vs player standpoint, James had the advantage.

Of course, he knew not to underestimate BLANK. While James had the advantage player wise, he had no doubt BLANK had the advantage mob wise. First off, BLANK was a single mob type dungeon. That meant it benefitted from the fact that it could use its lower tiered mobs in its higher tiered floors. This, in turn, meant those could reach higher levels, and be upgraded further on than what James could do with his mobs. A price James had sadly had to pay, unknowingly at first, when he choose his random mobs.

Second, BLANK had been optimizing their research. While James did have an unfair advantage in the fact that he jumped a rank of research when he got Steve's achievement, it hadn't been as great a boon as one would think. And, the fact that James had shared his research levels, and the combinations that unlocked various special events or features, meant that BLANK had all that knowledge too. Though of course, them being Xander's kids meant they already knew it. As such, it seemed they too had a secret boss mob combination for their second floor, which would likely be able to go toe to toe versus the terminus.

Finally, BLANK had the advantage on him of time. They had reached Tier 3 a couple days ahead of him, meaning they were able to start their research sooner than he was. Even with his 7th level of enhanced research, it didn't mean he would be able to catch them. He had no doubt BLANK had at least level 5 of enhanced research, if not level 6, as they knew which things to prioritize, while James had gone wide with his research. It also meant when it came to the Dungeon Wars related research features, they would be at least a level ahead of him, if not 2, depending on how many dungeon tokens they had at their disposal.

That gave them an edge he knew he couldn't underestimate. While their players may not be as leveled as his, James had no doubt that a big part of the dungeon wars would also be decided by the actual dungeon cores. Otherwise, he was certain the siblings wouldn't have challenged him so readily. In their eyes, with the knowledge they had, James was sure they, and Xander, believed they would be able to defeat him easily. So, he had no doubt they knew more than he did about the Dungeon wars, and believed what they brought to their side of the war, with their research levels and tools at their disposal, would easily be enough to win the war.

Of course, BLANK's attitude also meant they were likely underestimating James, and they were definitely underestimating his adventurers. The more he read, the more he believed that to be the case. After a good two hours of research on BLANKs forums, James decided to move on with the rest of his day and pulled up his search bar. It was time to see what the anime Rue had recommend to him was. What else could it give him with regards to Xander's kids? That was an important question, though the one James was really waiting for, and the reason he was searching for things to occupy his time with throughout the day was, what exactly would Dungeon Wars entail, and when would the darned patch notes be released.
