Dream Star 671 Coloured Rain Part 6

To her surprise, Kiryu said nothing and simply ordered his meal. Lila felt heat creep up on her cheeks. How embarrassing, what on earth is she doing right now? Kiryu mentioned it recently too, didn't he? Whenever it comes to Haruka, she ends up getting very worked up. Lila took a deep breath and returned to eating the rest of her meal. It was silent for a few minutes, and Lila tried not to look at him.

This is strange.. Wasn't she having a date with Haruka? How come she is suddenly eating a meal with Kiryu? Then again, maybe she is just overthinking things. Ever since she returned to Star Town, Kiryu has made so much effort to mend their relationship. This was one of the main reasons why Lila didn't want to enter a relationship with Kiryu.

She didn't want to ruin their friendship. She always thought of what would happen if they broke up. After everything, they would not return to being friends. Lila did not want to lose him; she wanted to remain close with him forever.

Indeed after they broke up, all her worries and fears came true. Even now, when they are talking to one another. Lila sensed the awkwardness and tension. It hurts so much whenever she sees and talks to Kiryu.

"So, Haruka cheated on you, didn't he?" Kiryu suddenly brought up.

He is acting so casual about it. "It was once, an accident," Lila mumbled.

"Doesn't it ...you know bother you?"

Lila sighed, "You know it does. I didn't exactly let you off when you did it."

"Right, so I'm surprised you two aren't at war right now."

"But you know since that time a lot has changed. I feel like I was too harsh. It's normal to overreact during those times. Even then, I should be more sensible about this. Haruka didn't do it deliberately. They tricked him, and even then, he thought he was holding me. I don't know what sort of hallucination drug they gave him. But, it worked. Up till this recent incident, no matter what they did, Haruka remained sane."

"Yeah," Kiryu picked up the cup of sake and took a sip. "The side effects for this recent drug they developed isn't good. I thought you would be more down after what happened. But maybe you're holding out better than I thought."

"Well, there was a time where I wanted to scream and throw things. But, I don't want to break the furniture at home - that stuff was expensive," Lila sighed quietly as she drank some water.

She found it difficult to swallow the noodles right now, so she simply drank the water.

Kiryu laughed, "Indeed. I'm proud of you, Lila."

"You're proud of me?"

"Yeah, it takes a lot to forgive someone after cheating. Even if it wasn't deliberate on Haruka's part, he still touched someone who wasn't you."

Lila looked over at him, "Then can I ask you? Why did you…"

"Back then, I couldn't trust myself to continue loving you. When Haruka reappeared again, and I saw how close you two became. I realized that I couldn't make you forget him. No matter what I did, you'd always have a soft spot for him. Even when you first met him again.."

"So, you decided to cheat on me?"

"I didn't decide Lila, it just happened. It's cruel to put it that way, but I don't want to lie."

"Yes, I know. It's difficult for me. I'm the type who wants to be with someone who treasures me, and only me. But both you and Haruka have so many other people who you care for," Lila sighed. "I'm such a selfish person. I wonder when did I become this way. Nothing should be wrong with you and Haruka caring for others. I can't expect you guys to only care for me. But I can't help but connect the two cases. Say, is it my fault? That you two felt the need to get cozy with other women? Did I do something wrong?"

At that comment, she felt a pair of familiar arms wrap around her from the back. "And look, you're upset about it, after all."

"Haru-"

"Sorry Kiryu, I'll handle this," Haruka apologized.

"Do a good job, or else she will burn the house down."

"Heh, she won't. She likes our home a lot."

Lila still couldn't believe he was here. She thought his talk would Ameno-senpai-- her thoughts broke off when she spotted the blood in his hands. She spun around and saw Haruka's appearance. His eyes appeared swollen - and his cheeks covered in bruises.

She immediately pulled his hands away and stood up.

Haruka laughed, "Hey, take it easy."

"I won't! Stupid, why did you get into a fight?"

"It was your senpai who did this to me."

Ameno-senpai, so that's why he took Haruka away. Lila understood her friend's feelings about what Haruka did. Word must have gotten out. But even then, she didn't want them hurting him over it. Besides, Haruka is equally hurt.

After what happened he hesitates to touch her, Haruka doesn't think he deserves her anymore. Lila noticed it earlier when he was kissing her; he kept hesitating. She was the one who took the lead, and he didn't kiss her back until she deepened the kiss. It took him a while before he felt comfortable.

Lila unconsciously leaned forward before she wrapped her arms around his neck. Haruka's hands went around her waist, and Lila felt him casually lick her earlobe.

"I wasn't kidding when I said I liked how you looked today."

"I'm sure you only like my appearance for something stupid," she muttered. "You're a horny idiot, after all."

"Bad habits don't change. But, I'll do anything to cheer you up. Okay? So talk to me.."

"You know you two can take your flirting elsewhere," Kiryu demanded from behind them.

Haruka's mouth had just brushed against hers when Kiryu said those words. Lila turned to glare at him, "What do you want?"

"I'm trying to finish my food, not watch a steamy 18+ movie."

Lila sighed, "Can I ignore you?" She wants to kiss Haruka right now. Today she can't get enough of his lips and kissing.

Kiryu's eyes twitched in annoyance, "You've become bold. Alright, go ahead. But take this before you do anything," he placed a stack of stapled documents on the edge of the table.

Lila peered over at it curiously. 'What is that?' She glanced over at Haruka, who nodded and let's go of her. She walked back over to the table. She took the documents in her hands and started to read through it. Her expression slowly darkened when she read the information on the documents.

'It's not like she didn't know, but-- seeing it in writing upsets her.' Lila looked over at her husband. How much pain and suffering has he gone through?

"What's wrong, wife?"

Lila didn't say a word and passed him the documents. Haruka scanned through it and sighed. "Wife, you're so open about investigating me now."

"That's because I want to know everything about you. You're in pain, aren't you hubby?"

He recently met up with Sophia, so she can imagine what happened there. "We need to go to the hospital, please?"
