Chapter 1205: Chapter 1208: Abbie's Jealousy (Extra 2) Chapter 1205: Chapter 1208: Abbie's Jealousy (Extra 2) Although Abbie could be a bit unruly at times, in front of Lily, he always remained a child.
He tilted his head slightly, avoiding his little sister and mother's gazes, shielding his own inner unease.
“Abbie…” Lily was slightly distracted.
Upon reflection, Abbie's behavior today had indeed been very strange.
Although Abraham Redington was not the kind of child who was meek and easy to bully, at most, he would just be a bit sharp-tongued, moving his lips.
Like in the restaurant, where he directly lashed out and doused Hannah Ford in dishes, and just now, when he kicked Charles Taylor because of a taunt.
This kind of behavior was not right.
Lily reflected, wondering if she had been paying too much attention to her eldest son, thereby neglecting her youngest.
“Abbie, a true man acts as bravely as he dares, and you did splendidly!” She hid her inner shame and smiled encouragingly at her son.
Then, she ruffled Abbie's hair, pulled her son into her arms, and whispered, “If Abbie has any troubles, you can tell mother, okay? Mother will be Abbie's best listener. Our Little Abbie is the cutest, and mother knows, whatever Abbie does, mother will support you.”
Abbie wasn't Lulu. Lulu was oblivious, often needing adults to tell her what to do, how to do it better.
But Abbie was different.
He might not have the outstanding genius of Ben Lucas, but compared to his peers, he was already very special.
Abbie had his own understanding, his own way of thinking, he even had a different perception of the world compared to other children.
Lily knew that what she needed to do was guide, not plan.
Parents are guides, not planners. Each of the three children had their likes and characteristics–whether it was Ben or Abbie, or even Lulu, she didn't need to micromanage their lives.
Abbie nodded lightly, hugging his mother back.
“No… I was just overthinking and got a little unhappy,” he murmured, resting his little head in the crook of his mother's neck, quietly sharing his inner secret.
“Why are you unhappy?” Lily asked softly.
Abbie seemed a bit coy, 'hmm'd twice, then finally said, “Because of jealousy.”
“Jealousy…?” Now it was Lily's turn to get nervous.
Abbie was jealous, but jealous of what?
Could it really be that she had recently focused more on Ben and Lulu, neglecting Abbie?
“Jealous of Ben…” Lily's heart couldn't help but skip a beat.
“Jealous that Ben can perform such cool military boxing at the performance report. And at kindergarten, those annoying teachers, and mother… you all don't help me, instead, you make me play the lion and the scarecrow!”
“Pfft–” Lily couldn't help it and burst out laughing.
“Abbie, you really are… you really are…” Lily was at a loss whether to laugh or cry, pulling her son into her embrace.
Abbie, that little scamp, had nearly scared her to death. She thought she might have unknowingly hurt her youngest son.
It turns out…
“Ah, what's wrong with being a lion or a scarecrow? Mother thinks they're cute too!” Lily said, smiling as she gathered both her son and daughter in her arms.
Abbie curved his lips, forcing a smile not quite reaching his eyes, “Furry and fluffy, not good at all. I'm a man, like Ben, that's what's cool.”
“Pff, you're so young and already know about being cool,” Lily teased as she ruffled her son's little head with a tone of indulgent exasperation.
She formed her own little clique with Abbie and Lulu, a mother with her two children.
Although they were all half-squatting on the ground, they felt blissfully together.
On the other side, since Lulu had pulled away, Emily Taylor had no choice but to soothe Charles Taylor, who was sitting on the ground.
Finally managing to cheer Charles up, she turned her head to look at Lily and her children, feeling a twinge of jealousy.
[Author's Note] There are two more updates to come. Mr. Lucas has been absent for a while, because once he reappears, it's time to sprinkle sweetness and whip up romance.
