He glanced sideways and said to Ben.
“We adults are going to talk now, take your brother and sister downstairs.”
No matter if Lulu and Abbie were Richard Coldwell's children or not, as long as they were Lily's, even if Abbie spoke in an unpleasant way, Ethan still took them under his wing.
Without having won Lily's approval yet, he already treated these two dumplings as siblings to Ben.
Ben would normally never easily obey the old man's orders.
But clearly, he was pleased by the words 'brother and sister'.
Ben stood up noncommittally, walked over to Lulu and Abbie, and took one by the hand.

“I hope that's the case,” Abbie said, seeming to half understand, “I don't like Richard Coldwell, and neither does Lulu.”
Earlier, when Richard Coldwell came over and claimed to be his and Lulu's biological father, he almost made Lulu cry.
It wasn't just Lulu; even Ben felt bewildered.
He knew the truth and really couldn't understand how these adults could lie so easily without blushing or batting an eye.
Moreover, compared to Richard Coldwell, he actually preferred the 'old man' Ben mentioned to be his father.
