Chapter 1050: Chapter 1053: Her Relationship with Larry Scott (3) Chapter 1050: Chapter 1053: Her Relationship with Larry Scott (3) Uncle Mark showed one face in front of the Scott family members and another behind their backs, of course, she was aware of that.
If she really pulled the surveillance footage, it would soon become clear whether it was this woman who made a fuss at midnight or if Uncle Mark was the one who offended first.
“Mr. Mason, I…I never have any say in this house. Whether Uncle Mark is at fault or not, I can not guarantee. Since this lady doubts Uncle Mark, let someone else take the butler's position. I'll send him away,” she said with timid brows, looking at Mason Scott with an expression of fear and cowardice.
This contrasted starkly with Lily's firm attitude.
Mason Scott was instantly stirred by Wendy Jenkins' damsel-in-distress act, which awakened his protective instinct.
He frowned and scolded Lily angrily, “You vixen, shut your mouth! This is the Scott family, it's not your place to speak! Larry Scott, I want a word from you, are you kicking this vixen out today? If you don't, I'm calling the old man now!”
Mr. Scott had gone to another province to visit an old friend and was not at home.
Larry Scott's eyebrows furrowed slightly, his face turning ashen.
The term “vixen” was a direct insult and affront to Lily.
He was about to reveal Lily's real identity when a delicate little hand laid on his arm.
Lily shook her head at him, signaling him not to expose her true identity.
She hadn't come over tonight to claim relations.
Lily stood on tiptoe and whispered into Larry Scott's ear, “I have an urgent matter. Don't waste time here.”
After listening to her, Larry's gaze softened slightly.
“Fine, as you wish, I'll listen to you,” Larry said with a faint smile, his stern features softening considerably.
The man who was usually unemotional now showed a tender, protective side.
Not only were Mason Scott and Wendy Jenkins stunned, but even Tania Scott, who had turned her head away from her emotions of pity and concern, was deeply shaken by the warmth on Larry's face.
She was supposed to be her father's treasured daughter.
Yet when had he ever smiled at her like that!
“Then let's go to the study room. I have something I need your help with.”
When Lily spoke, Larry didn't show any displeasure. Instead, a hint of relief flashed in his eyes.
Larry wouldn't have any complaints, whether his niece had come to mend their relationship or just to use him. After all, he owed this child.
For years, he had been trying to make amends by any means possible.
However, the hurt had been too profound initially, and the child did not accept or feel the need for it.
The Redington family had taken very good care of her, and he, being far away in Eastonia, had nothing worthy to offer which the Redington family's daughter could take advantage of.
The only thing he could do was to take good care of Ben Lucas, who was studying at the Royal Military Academy.
Thinking this, Larry felt a great sense of guilt and took Lily's hand, “Let's go, I'll take you to the study room.”
His niece was in trouble, and he was anxious too. He simply had no time to deal with Mason Scott, who was still waiting for an answer, fuming with anger.
Lily felt some resistance when Larry took her hand, but thinking of the two children, she stopped herself from pulling away.
At first, it was a bit uncomfortable.
But later on, as Larry held her hand, it felt somewhat different.
Very special.
Lily didn't understand the origin of this uniqueness, but she never again felt the urge to break free.
Larry Scott commanded great respect in the Scott family. With a cold face, he led Lily away, and even though Mason Scott was irate, he didn't dare to stop them.
Moreover, amongst the vast Scott family, all the guards dispatched from the military were completely under Larry's command.
Watching the silhouettes of Larry Scott and the woman disappear, Wendy Jenkins gently tugged at Mason Scott's arm.
“Mr. Mason… I think, let's just forget about it. Let's pretend we don't know about this, and tonight… none of us got up, okay?”
“Forget about it? Absolutely not, I'm going to inform Mr. Scott right now!” Mason Scott said fiercely, his face steely with resolve.
