Chapter 1036: Chapter 1039: Father and Daughter's First Time Together (3) Chapter 1036: Chapter 1039: Father and Daughter's First Time Together (3) “Come in,” Mr. Lucas's cold voice came from the study.
It sounded as icy and deep as always.
But Benjamin Lucas IX felt that this icy deepness seemed somewhat different from a few days ago.
Well… how should he put it, it was still just as cold, but there was a deliberate restraint of the sharpness in it.
He didn't fully release that fierce and aggressive feeling from within Mr. Lucas.
Benjamin Lucas IX thought he must be really bored to be overthinking this.
Shaking his head to clear the weird thoughts from his mind, he turned the doorknob.
When Benjamin Lucas IX, holding the cup, pushed the door open and saw the situation inside clearly, his right hand trembled suddenly, almost dropping the glass onto the floor.
He quickly steadied himself, not letting himself make a mistake in front of Mr. Lucas.
After taking a couple of deep breaths, he dared to look up again and glance into the room.
The Mr. Lucas he remembered–who was cold, irritable, and extremely disliked children–was now sitting on the sofa, speaking softly and gently to the little girl who had just had her eyes covered with a black cloth.
The little purse that Benjamin Lucas IX had just been holding was now sitting upright in Mr. Lucas's arms.
The black cloth on her face had been removed, revealing a small face that was pink and pudgy.
Her face was streaked with tears, and her beautiful peach-blossom eyes were innocently wide as she looked up, seemingly saying something to Mr. Lucas.
Every time she spoke, her little shoulders would twitch.
It was clear that she was hiccupping from crying too much, unable to calm down.
Every time she hiccupped, crystal tears would fall from her blue eyes, splashing down.
Such a pitiful sight made Aidan Lucas extremely uncomfortable.
He felt heartache as he held a handkerchief, gently wiping the tears from the little baby in his arms.
While wiping, he murmured softly, “Lulu, be good, don't cry. If you keep crying, your eyes will swell, and they will feel uncomfortable tomorrow.”
“Um… but… hic…”
Lulu hadn't finished her sentence when she hiccupped again.
She was still somewhat confused, not having figured out what exactly was going on.
Lulu wasn't as clever as Andrew Howard; since she was very young, countless people like Grandpa, Grandma, mother, and uncle have protected her, and she never had to think deeply about many things.
The only person who would argue with her and dare to 'bully' her was her twin brother Andrew Howard.
Lulu clearly remembered this uncle as a villain.
He had people take her and Andrew away and even injured Andrew.
But now, as he held her and whispered to her in a soft voice, showing a deadly charming smile,
Silly Lulu forgot all the unpleasant things that had happened before.
Lulu felt so strange.
Surely this uncle was supposed to be a villain, so why was he being so kind to her?
If he was so kind to her, was he still a villain?
The little Lulu couldn't wrap her head around it, completely unable to understand what was going on.
“Don't just stand there, bring the water over,” Mr. Lucas's indifferent voice suddenly woke Benjamin Lucas IX from his daze.
He quickly came to his senses, noticing that Mr. Lucas had turned his head and was looking at him with a chilly gaze.
Benjamin Lucas IX was startled.
Immediately carrying the water over, he said.
“Mr. Lucas, warm water.” Benjamin Lucas IX carefully handed over the glass of water.
Aidan Lucas took the cup, felt the temperature of the cup for a moment, before slowly bringing it to the little girl's lips.
