Chapter 1022: Chapter 1025: I Want to Leave You for Three Days Chapter 1022: Chapter 1025: I Want to Leave You for Three Days Lily had just settled into the car, when Aidan Lucas's call came through.
She glanced at the caller ID on her cell phone, her brow furrowing slightly before she pressed to decline the call.
No sooner had the screen gone dark for half a second than it lit up again with another insistent call from Aidan Lucas.
Lily was impatient to answer; she needed some personal space to calm down.
After declining the man's call again, the other end finally fell silent.
But half a minute later, a text message came through.
[Where are you? Answer the phone immediately, or face the consequences.]
The rigid tone of the text made the anger Lily had just suppressed flare up again.
With a cold face, she replied with a message–[No need to look for me, I want to be alone for three days. I'll contact you after three days.]
After sending it, she turned off her cell phone and threw it into her bag.
“What's the matter, you're not answering your man's persistent calls?” teased Sadie, who was driving the car.
“I don't want to talk. I want to be alone for three days, then I'll look for him,” Lily said, turning her head to look out the window.
Her watery eyes glinted with a trace of confusion.
Her reunion with Aidan Lucas had not been easy to come by, so why had it suddenly turned out like this?
To say she didn't like him would be impossible, wouldn't it?
Even with his secondary personality, he was still Aidan Lucas, still the same man.
He had all the qualities she admired, all the things about him that drew her in; only his personality had changed, but the soul and each personality must have some similarities.
To her, he had always been Aidan Lucas, no matter which personality.
Perhaps in the beginning, she indeed stayed with Aidan Lucas in order to awaken his primary personality.
But, as time went by, she realized that she seemed to have developed feelings for his secondary personality as well.
The problem was, that man was too domineering.
So domineering that she felt a fear of brittleness, of breaking easily.
His feelings were too forceful, pressuring her so intensely it left her feeling suffocated.
Of course, Lily still loved him, but she needed to get away for a while to regroup.
“So where are we heading now?” Sadie was the driver, but in reality, he did not know where Lily planned to stay upon her sudden arrival in B City.
“Find a hotel near the Royal Military Academy to stay at, it's too late today. Tomorrow, accompany me to the school, I want to see Ben,” Lily said, gazing out at the night-shrouded B City, heavy with thought.
Every plan she had made upon returning to the country seemed to have been disrupted by her chance encounter with Aidan Lucas.
She thought that during these three days, apart from visiting Ben, she needed to contemplate her next steps.
There was so much to deal with–Skye, Dylan Wellington, the Gray family… and even Oliver Ford.
So many matters required her attention.
Rest for three days, and then start anew.

Meanwhile, on the other side, after having his calls declined and receiving her angry text, the man's expression turned uglier by the second.
“Mr. Lucas…” Benjamin Lucas IX braved a call.
Ever since the text message was received, Mr. Lucas had become increasingly cold. Even sitting still, he exuded a profound chill that was palpable.
“Mr. Lucas, what did the Young Lady say?”
At this moment, Benjamin Lucas IX didn't even dare to refer to her as Miss Redington, opting for the circumspect “Young Lady” to avoid angering the man.
“Benjamin Lucas IX.” However, the man did not respond to his query.
He simply curled the corners of his lips, revealing a smile.
But that hint of a thin, cold smile was too unsettling to witness without shuddering.
