Chapter 1014: Chapter 1017: No Matter Who You Are, I Only Like You Chapter 1014: Chapter 1017: No Matter Who You Are, I Only Like You “You…”
Observing the change in the man's expression, Lily was so frightened that she almost stepped back.
But the hard desk was right behind her, she had nowhere to retreat.
“Aidan Lucas, calm down… you said, you wanted to talk business with me.” Unable to escape, she pleaded for mercy, hooking her arms around the man's neck, showing weakness.
Aidan Lucas, however, did not show any sign of impatience.
He casually glanced at his wristwatch.
His slender fingertips brushed her slightly swollen red lips, kissed by him, and he said indifferently, “Hmm, you have nine minutes and forty seconds left.”
His words implied that the so-called ten minutes of business talk was not a joke.
Lily was almost on the verge of tears, but there was no helping it. Seeing his cold features and the cool depth in his eyes, she knew he was not joking.
“Alright, then let's make it short. I came here because I wanted to tell you… when I first met you, my name was Alice, but now it's Lily Redington. Haven't you ever doubted my identity? Don't you think it's, hmm… odd?”
Lily already knew that the current Aidan Lucas did not recognize her.
He wasn't pretending to not know her; he genuinely had no recognition of her.
Regardless of the publicly announced reasons for his amnesia or a possible second personality, Aidan Lucas at this moment, did not recognize Lily Gray.
However, Lily found it strange, she knew Aidan Lucas too well.
Even if it were a second personality, how could his normally distant nature not hold the slightest doubt about her?
“Odd?” The man's rough fingertips slowly stroked her lips, “It doesn't matter who you are, whether you're Alice or Lily Redington; what I like is just you. Even if you were to tell me your name is Lily Gray, I would still like you.”
He spoke so casually as if he had just suddenly thought of his ex-wife's name.
But he had no idea, when Lily heard the name 'Lily Gray' from his mouth, her heart virtually paused for a moment.
'Even if you were Lily Gray, I would still like you.'
Lily's breath halted, she didn't dare to dwell on the deeper meaning behind those words.
Was it a mere coincidence that Aidan Lucas had said this, or was he deliberately probing?
“I… how could I possibly be Lily Gray? I am Lily Redington, and I came here today to tell you my real identity–Lily Redington. Alice is just my English name. I not only hold shares in the Gray family but also own half of Bastion Group.”
In a state of panic, Lily revealed her trump card.
Aidan Lucas had bought all of Oliver Ford's shares, but the share portion still belonged to her, was still in her hands.
Lily was currently unable to contact Oliver Ford, but this did not prevent her from bringing the shares straight to Aidan Lucas.
Hearing the woman's words, a spark of interest flickered in the man's brooding eyes, “So, my Lily is the mysterious shareholder of Bastion? No wonder Benjamin Lucas IX has been searching for months and couldn't find out who it was.”
Aidan Lucas's tone was dangerously low.
Lily's lips tickled under his touch, and a similar tickle echoed at the tip of her heart–as if, at any moment, the man could transform into a man-eating beast and pounce on her.
“Yes, cough… Yes. But are you angry about this? Are you upset that I hold shares in Bastion?”
Lily found it strange; though Aidan Lucas had a strong desire for control, he was not one to deny others.
Her owning half of Bastion's shares might affect his supreme control over the company, but that shouldn't be enough to make his aura drop several degrees in an instant, right?
“I'm not angry,” the man said, looking down at her.
“It's just… I suddenly really want to know why the eldest son of the Ford family can tolerate someone else by his bedside. With the Ford family's capabilities, they don't need external investors. Giving you half of his shares is clearly a favor.”
Tsk!
After all this time, it turns out he's just jealous…
