Death's Door 48 Volume 3: Chapter 14: Demon King?

"I see, so my allies pretty much forced you to do this."

"That would be the gist of it." Dark Lord replied.

"I sincerely apologize on their behalf! I would never have thought they would take advantage of a bystander in order to infiltrate the city or much less save a Demon King from the prison! They truly have forced you to do something unreasonable…"

"Wait a minute, Miss Arin, what do you mean by Demon King?" Camilla ended up asking out of curiosity.

"I am the demon who currently holds the title of Demon King, Arin Draco, of the Draco clan of Dragon demons."

Camilla's shoulders trembled in fear, this was the demon of the highest rank and order, by the power she could sense from her it was no lie.

Demon king, the beacon of hope for the entirety of demon kind was right in front of her. As much as this realization terrified Camilla, his master seemed to be unfazed by that fact.

"I thought as much." Dark Lord simply shrugged.

As the morning sun rose, Dark Lord checked the streets to see if it was safe to pass.

"Can you walk?"

Arin tried to stand up, but her legs gave out again.

"Apologies, but no. It seems that while I am inside the barrier of Holy City, my power of regeneration is negated."

"Alright, more luggage it is." Dark Lord unceremoniously proceeded to lift her up and place her on his back.

"Camilla, lets go."

"Yes, milord."

Slowly, but steadily, the strange trio proceeded to walk towards the edge of the city, to finally get out of the barrier that surrounds the entire Holy City.

"Could you keep still? It is not exactly easy to walk with a baggage."

"Just how long are you going to refer to me as luggage or baggage, Dark Lord? I am not making movements without a reason. My self-regeneration might not have come back, but I can still use my power to heal damages on your body."

"Why didn't you do that while we were hiding between buildings?" Dark Lord asked, his annoyance was obvious.

"For one, my powers did not completely return back then, the further we are from that accursed prison, the more I feel my power starting to come back. And you seemed to be so much at peace sleeping so soundly that I thought it would be a bad omen to wake you up for such a trivial reason…"

"Demon King fell asleep too. Camilla saw her fall asleep roughly at same time as Dark Lord."

"Don't tell him that! I mean… ha ha ha…" Arin Draco couldn't help but chuckle a little as her little lie ended up being exposed on the spot.

"Fine, if you can patch me up, be my guest." Dark Lord replied with a sigh.

"Yes, of course!" Arin proceeded to use her mana to heal Dark Lord, pouring her mana through Dark Lord's shoulders, as he kept walking with her on his back.

So much torn muscles, bruises, and his tissues are under extreme stress. Stress is acquired psychologically, his shoulders are so tense. Only a severe trauma could have caused so much strain…His body is literally yelling for help, but he seems to act like its normal. It seems like the witch he was contracted to, used to provide mana to his body, after he was cut off from her mana supply, his body has been taking lots of damage, each damage doesn't seem serious, but piling them up one on top of the other, if I don't heal him up he will surely collapse!

Arin Draco's mana was very effective, just a few minutes of healing therapy and Dark Lord's body felt relieved.

As he kept walking forward, with Arin Draco concentrating her mind upon healing, Dark Lord struck up a conversation with Camilla.

"So Milord freed the Demon King just for the sake of one girl?"

Camilla asked after Dark Lord explained his circumstance with Demon Lords.

"Not exactly, more like self-preservation…None rational would risk so much for the sake of a girl…speaking of which, I can't really tell, are you male or female?"

"Which would you prefer me to be, milord?"

"Pardon?" Dark Lord was now a little confused.

"I am a snake type demon, my kind does not have a gender until the time of mating, and we can assume either gender at will."

"I don't have a preference." Dark Lord shrugged, finding out something unusual about his new subordinate.

All of them had concealment spell cast on them, while they could see each other, none else could see them.

"Well, it seems we have arrived." Three of them have walked past the barrier towards the area where the three Demon Lords were waiting.

"So you really did it, didn't you?" the demon Lord named Kazan said with wide open eyes.

Three demon Lords walked forward, all three bent their knees, kneeling before Dark Lord, or more specifically the person he was carrying on his back.

"We are honored to be once again in your presence, your majesty, Demon King." All three of them said in unison.
