"Sky Hero, Attack!"
Sky Brother soared through the air, his twin turbines firing up, propelling him forward like a rocket. His right fist thrust forward, aiming straight for the covered card.
The covered card flipped over, revealing a small frog with a halo on its head. The frog's white wings flapped twice, emitting a piercing cry, before it exploded with a loud pop.
Nether Frog, Defense 100
"Nether Frog?"
Jou was intrigued. He wasn't unfamiliar with this monster, after all, Youxuan used it frequently.
"This isn't Youxuan's."
Yeshen smirked, "My deck draws power from more than one world, with possibilities beyond your imagination."
Jou furrowed his brow, "You Bei, what's he talking about?"
"Who knows, just trying to intimidate us", You Bei said.
Jou pondered, it wasn't entirely impossible. While Nether Frog was a common card used by Youxuan, it wasn't rare enough to be surprising in someone else's deck.
"But now your field is empty", Jou said, "Elemental Hero Absolute Zero, Direct Attack!"
At Jou's command, Absolute Zero's hero cloak billowed without a breeze. An invisible cold enveloped the field, as if the air itself had frozen into sharp ice daggers.
Absolute Zero swung his arm from a distance, conveying an unwavering will, and the daggers shot through the air like arrows.
At that moment, Yeshen's smirk widened.
"Though you have some special powers, you're quite predictable", Yeshen said, "Such a straightforward attack is exactly as expected.
Activate covered card!
Trap Card—Frontier Return!"
Jou's eyes widened.
This trap card again. He had seen it during his duel with You Bei when Yeshen was possessing him. Given Yeshen's identity, the monster he would revive was likely...
"Frontier Return can Special Summon a monster from my Graveyard in Defense Position", Yeshen explained. "Last turn, I sent five cards to my Graveyard using 'Take Over 5.'"
Jou's expression grew serious, "Yeshen...?"
"Exactly", Yeshen declared, "I summon myself from the Graveyard!
Devouring the heavens and earth, erasing all, the god of destruction that reduces everything to nothing—
—Demonic Deity Eraser, arise!!!"
An endless darkness, like a pitch-black ocean, gathered on the field. The space seemed to crack, fissures spreading out like the gaping wounds of a monstrous beast, devouring all life. It was a presence that could wither everything, a will of destruction that had arrived.
Demonic Deity Eraser, Defense?
"Eraser is summoned in Defense Position", Yeshen said, "And Demonic Deity Eraser's Defense and Attack are the same, determined by the number of cards on your field."
Jou's voice was grave, "I have three cards on my field."
Elemental Hero Absolute Zero, Sky Hero, and Liquid Hero.
"Hehe, exactly, so my Defense is now three thousand."
Demonic Deity Eraser, Defense? → Defense 3000
With a Defense of three thousand, matching Absolute Zero's Attack, the battle would be meaningless. The opponent wouldn't take damage, and neither would he be retaliated against.
But Jou knew the biggest problem was yet to come.
"Demonic Deity Eraser is a god with the power to erase everything", You Bei said solemnly, "And this god returns to the Graveyard at the end of the turn it is Special Summoned."
And Eraser sends the entire Field to the Graveyard, so all other cards on the Field must be sent to the Graveyard as well.”
Jou nodded. “I understand.”
Now it was Jou’s Turn, and this put him in a highly disadvantageous position. Whatever he did this Turn, Eraser would sweep everything from his Field. All his monsters would be sent to the Graveyard, and even any Trap Cards in his backfield would be useless, as they too would be sent to the Graveyard.
In other words, he had to face the opponent’s next Turn with an empty Field, which was almost a death sentence in a high-level duel.
You Bei said, “The situation isn’t looking good, Jou.”
Jou nodded. “I know. I’ll do nothing and end my Turn directly.”
“During the End Phase, the ‘Demonic Deity Eraser’ Special Summoned by a card effect returns to the Graveyard,” Yeshen said. “And when Eraser is sent to the Graveyard, all cards on the Field must be sent to the Graveyard as well!”
Yeshen’s roar echoed, and a transparent sound wave exploded across the Field. Yeshen’s form disintegrated, his massive demonic body transforming into a dark, murky pit. All of Jou’s Elemental Heroes were dragged into this pit and vanished without a trace.
Absolute Zero, as he was dragged in, let out a final roar, unleashing a powerful icy vortex. Ice crystals froze the entire Field, turning it into a clear, transparent ice domain. However, this domain was fleeting and quickly dissipated in Yeshen’s darkness.
Yeshen’s eyes gleamed. “I see, a hero with a similar ability to mine.”
He paused, then smiled. “But you’re still a far cry from the real deal.”
Absolute Zero could destroy all monsters on the opponent’s Field when he left the Field, which was indeed a similar type of ability to Eraser’s. However, Eraser was undoubtedly more powerful and ruthless. Eraser didn’t just target monsters; he devoured all cards, and he didn’t destroy them but sent them directly to the Graveyard, regardless of whether they belonged to the opponent or himself.
Yeshen said, “Now your Field is completely empty. This Duel looks like it might end in just a few more Turns.”
Jou replied, “My Turn isn’t entirely over yet.
During the End Phase, I can still activate a Quick-Play Spell.”
Jou played a card from his hand.
“Quick-Play Spell, ‘Quick Summon’! This card allows me to Normal Summon an additional monster from my hand, on top of my regular Normal Summon.”
Jou played another card from his hand.
“I Normal Summon ‘Elemental Hero Clayman’ in Defense Position!”
The hero card appeared on the Field, the solid and sturdy Clayman crouching in a defensive stance, his arms crossed in front of him.

“I see, summoning a monster as a wall during the End Phase after my effect is resolved,” Yeshen said. “Not a bad move for buying some time, huh.
Now, my Turn, Draw.”
Yeshen drew a card from his Duel Disk, which emitted a golden glow.
“During the Standby Phase, I need to resolve the effects of two cards in my Graveyard,” Yeshen said. “First, ‘Take Over 5’. During the Standby Phase, if this card is in the Graveyard, I can remove this card and a card with the same name from my Deck, and then draw a card.”
Yeshen drew a card.
“Next, ‘Nether Frog’.
During the Standby Phase, if there are no Magic or Trap Cards in my backfield, I can return ‘Nether Frog’ from the Graveyard to the Field!”
