Chapter 99: Malika vs. Tina
Chapter 99: Malika vs. Tina
The streets were filled with the forward march of the Navy forces, while the remaining few subordinates anxiously drew their weapons, aiming them ahead.
Malika and Tina faced each other, one with a gentle smile and the other with a cigarette dangling from her lips, giving her a nonchalant air. She was quite a sight, with a petite yet curvaceous figure that rivaled Malika's in stature.
As the two women locked eyes, the air seemed to freeze for a moment. Tina's cigarette emitted a cloud of smoke, partially obscuring her vision.
The next instant, the figure within the window vanished.
Whoosh!
A gust of wind rushed toward them, ruffling Tina's pink hair. She narrowed her eyes and sidestepped, just as a massive broken pillar shot past her, crashing into Finbud and Zangao behind her.
Bang!
The impact was so powerful that it almost popped their eyeballs out. Their bodies, along with the pillar, smashed into the Navy forces approaching from behind, creating a loud crash.
Tina turned her head to glance at the fallen Navy personnel before turning back to face Malika, who had already reached the ground. She exhaled a puff of smoke and said, "Looks like you're not going to surrender peacefully. Tina's disappointed."
"Ah, why would pirates ever surrender to the Navy?"
Malika smiled and walked over to Miote, grabbing the black circle bound to him. "This is quite hard."
She tugged at it, then released her hand and asked, "Miote, can you walk?"
"Ugh!"
Miote nodded vigorously.
Although his upper body was bound, his legs were still free to move.
"Take your men and leave. Protect the treasure you stole; otherwise, Sag will be even angrier."
Malika instructed, then turned to Tina, "As for this young lady, I'll take care of her."
Tina pushed her sunglasses up into her hair and pulled on her gloves, joining Malika in standing their ground on the street.
A gust of wind from an unknown source stirred, lifting their Navy cloaks and Malika's hair.
Whoosh!
As the wind blew, Tina's figure moved with lightning speed, appearing before Malika in an instant. She extended her arm, aiming for a strike.
"Quite a direct attack."
Malika smiled and raised her hand to counter, but as her arm made contact with Tina's, it was suddenly grasped by a black, elongated arm that formed from Tina's arm, enveloping Malika's wrist and creeping up her upper arm.
"Penetrate!"
Tina thrust her arm forward, intending to pierce through Malika's body. However, at that moment, a foot kicked out, connecting with Tina's body.
Bang!
Tina's body flew backward before quickly landing on the ground, her feet sliding backward along the surface. She bent her body and clicked her tongue, looking over, "You dodged? Tina's surprised."
Malika glanced at the iron circle bound to her forearm and then at the position of her leg that had just kicked out. There was a similar restraint tightly wrapped around her calf.
"A strange ability; it can penetrate my attacks."
If she hadn't changed her stance quickly enough, her arm might have been broken.
"Of course,"
Tina said, "I ate the 'Barrier-Barrier Fruit' and became a Barrier Human. Any object I penetrate will form a sturdy barrier. Eventually, you'll be completely trapped by me."
She didn't care what the object was; she could pass through anything and turn it into the most solid cage.
"Next time, you won't dodge! Shave!"
As a top student of the Navy and a disciple of Zefa, whether it was Smog or her, it was inevitable to master a few of the Six Styles.
In the blink of an eye, Tina closed in on Malika, extending her arm and thrusting it forward.
It was at this moment that her outstretched arm was suddenly bound by several soft, black objects, along with her limbs and neck.
Hair?!
Malika opened her smiling eyes, revealing cold, moon-like pupils. "Can you penetrate this too?"
"Her black hair tumbled down like a waterfall, dancing wildly around her. It was as if snakes were twisting about, and a few strands wrapped tightly around Tina, causing her eyebrows to furrow.
'Is this Life Return?'
Tina was taken aback, and before she could react, she heard Malika's gentle voice beside her.
'Finger Gun: Snake Strike.'
The wildly dancing hair at the front curled into spiral punctures, speeding towards Tina's body.
Bang!
The highly penetrative hair pierced the ground, creating a hole in the cobblestone street. With a clanging sound, the strands of hair binding Tina loosened and slid away, and several black iron circles slipped smoothly from the tendrils of hair, falling to the ground.
'Even hair can bind me, but it's useless. It seems that soft things...'
Malika paused and took a deep breath. '"Life Return: Condense.'
The hands and feet that had been bound by the iron circles suddenly shrank, and the restraints slipped off, falling to the ground. Her limbs returned to their normal state.
She turned to look at Tina, who had been freed from the hair restraints and had fallen to the rear. 'You can't completely trap me,' she continued.
'Tina is astonished,' she said.
Tina stared intently at Malika. 'Life Return is an ultimate technique that can only be learned through meditation and an extremely profound understanding of the body. I didn't expect you to know it, and was that Finger Gun just now?'
'Yes,' Malika replied with a gentle smile. 'Since the captain loves teaching people how to cultivate, even though I only like cooking, I had to master a few techniques to fulfill his wishes.'
Learning Life Return made it much easier for Malika to learn the Six Styles.
Even though Malika wasn't particularly interested, she still learned a few moves, including Finger Gun.
'Shave!'
Malika's figure disappeared from where she was standing, and she reappeared in front of Tina. She pulled her arm back, creating a tearing sound as she struck out at Tina's body.
Tina's pupils constricted, and her instinct was to block it with her palm. However, at that moment, a tuft of hair coiled around Malika's wrist, forming a thick hair bracelet.
'Iron Block: Hair Bracelet.'
The hair bracelet glowed, solidifying into a hard barrier. As Malika swung her strike, it penetrated through Tina's arm and body, but the force exploded outward, propelling Tina away and slamming her into a nearby building.
Boom!!
The immense force caused Tina to smash a hole in the building, shattering the supporting pillars and causing half of the structure to collapse.
'Oh dear, it seems that even if I can penetrate anything, I can't get through something with a significantly larger area than myself,' Malika said with a chuckle.
The hair bracelet protecting her wrist softened and loosened, and the black iron circle binding her hair slid down and off her wrist due to its volume.
She looked at the collapsed building and smiled. 'Do you want to continue fighting, Miss Navy?'
Bang!
As soon as she finished speaking, a long, pitch-black object shot towards her, piercing through Malika's dancing hair and leaving a gaping hole. It ruthlessly embedded itself in the building behind her.
It was a black steel spear.
A hand reached out from the rubble, pushing away the stones that had buried Tina. She climbed out, brushed off the dust that had settled on her, and took out a cigarette case from her pocket. She pulled out a cigarette, placed it between her red lips, and lit it with a lighter.
'Tina is furious,' she said.
She exhaled a puff of smoke, and as she spread her hands apart, black iron rods resembling long spears extended from her arms.
The meaning conveyed by her eyes was clear.
'It seems we won't be finishing this anytime soon,' Malika said, a smile playing on her lips. The wildly dancing black hair that had been pierced through earlier now flowed back, filling in the gap.
