Chapter 976: Everyone Awaits Your Next Move
Chapter 976: Everyone Awaits Your Next Move
Apart from advancing his Transfiguration to the highest level, Ivan's Magic reserves also increased significantly.
Over the decades Dumbledore taught at Hogwarts, he read most of the books in the Restricted Section, making him one of the most knowledgeable wizards in the Wizarding World, though his knowledge of Dark Magic was limited.
However, this gap was filled by Grindelwald's memories—full of Forbidden Spells, evil Resurrection Rituals, and bizarre Cursing Magic. It was a treasure trove that broadened Ivan's horizons.
Of course, while he gained a lot of spells and corresponding Magic insights, three short days were not enough for him to master them thoroughly.
For now, he only knew how to use them, and it would take a long time of practice to fully digest this Magic knowledge.
As he thought, Ivan gently waved his wand to restore the Owl on the table, then opened the System Bar to check his gains.

After scanning through the System panel, Ivan exhaled slowly. In just three short days, his proficiency in various spells had increased significantly, either breaking through to Level 8 or nearing the threshold.
This made Ivan very pleased. In the past, he often struggled with basic spells, given his Magic foundation was far less robust compared to Dumbledore and Grindelwald, who had lived for over a century.
During battles, he usually relied on Transfiguration and blood magic to hold his ground, or he used the Philosopher's Stone's vast Magic reserves to unleash a barrage of Explosion Charms.
Aside from this Magic knowledge, his Magic Gauge also increased substantially. However, this was not due to Dumbledore's memories but rather the result of his bloodline fusion over the past half-year.
As he grew older, Ivan noticed that the rate of his Magic growth was accelerating. In less than a year, his Magic reserves had increased to match those of an adult wizard.
In summary, the recent period had not only filled his gaps but also brought significant progress.
Despite the boost in his power, Ivan did not become arrogant. Grindelwald's threat still loomed large, as the latter had also gained all of Dumbledore's Magic knowledge and possessed two Deathly Hallows, making him a formidable opponent.
The reason he managed to defeat Grindelwald relatively easily last time was largely due to luck.
First, the Aurors from the North American Magical Congress used the Protective Charms in the Congress Building to weaken Grindelwald's combat strength. Second, Ivan had tampered with the Key beforehand. These two factors combined allowed him to drive Grindelwald off in disgrace at the International Confederation of Wizards. Otherwise, the outcome might have been uncertain.
Most crucially, powerful wizards like them were almost impossible to kill, unless they were in a place that restricted Apparition.
Or perhaps, like when Voldemort fell, a Horcrux was unfortunately destroyed during battle, preventing the Split Soul from escaping.
Just as Ivan was thinking this, the fireplace in the Headmaster's Office suddenly burst into flames. A tall, orange flame shot up, drawing Ivan's attention.
A moment later, a familiar figure stepped out of the flames.
"Is there something urgent that you need, Minister Pierce?" Ivan waved his hand, putting away the glass bottles containing Memory Threads on the table. He was quite displeased with Pierce's sudden intrusion.
Faced with Ivan's questioning, Pierce hurried to explain.
"President Sir, the new department you asked the International Confederation of Wizards to set up has been completed. The personnel from various countries have already arrived, and everyone is waiting for your next instructions."
In fact, according to the previous agreement, Ivan should have officially started his new position a week ago. However, living at Nottwood Manor and busy researching the Deathly Hallows, he had completely forgotten about it.
No one dared to urge him due to his authority, so they could only wait anxiously. Little did they know, this wait lasted a full week. In the end, Cornell and others had no choice but to seek help from Pierce, asking him to quickly bring back the new Acting Director.
Hearing Pierce's words, Ivan slapped his head, suddenly remembering that he was now the Acting President of the International Confederation of Wizards. He couldn't just stay in one place and leisurely study magic as he used to.
"I'll go right now..."
Since he had already reviewed all the memories, Ivan wasn't in a rush to fully integrate them. After bidding farewell to the headmaster's portraits, he took Pierce and Apparated to the headquarters of the International Confederation of Wizards.
On the way, Ivan frequently asked about the current wizarding news. Pierce didn't dare to withhold any information and quickly shared everything he knew.
Perhaps due to his injuries, Grindelwald and his Acolytes had been relatively quiet over the past month since the meeting of the International Confederation of Wizards. Apart from a few minor attack incidents, they hadn't caused any significant trouble.
During this period, the Confederation had sent people to search for Grindelwald's whereabouts and successfully formed an Alliance. According to Pierce, the Alliance consisted of 657 wizards, all of whom were elite Aurors with considerable expertise in countering Dark Magic.
Among them, the most wizards were sent by Britain and North America, making up one-third of the total number.
Britain, Ivan's stronghold, didn't need to be mentioned. The Aurors there followed Ivan's orders without question, and to manage this newly established department effectively, he needed a large number of trusted personnel.
As for the North American Magical Congress, they were the strongest force in the wizarding world outside of the top combatants. Additionally, Cornell was keen on courting Ivan, so they dispatched over a hundred Elite Enforcers.
If this force could be unified, the International Confederation of Wizards would no longer be a powerless shell.
However, when Ivan stepped into the new department, his enthusiasm quickly waned.
Due to the notification, all the wizards, except those on active duty or on quests, had already arrived.
But these elite Aurors from around the world were not as ready and disciplined as Ivan had imagined. Instead, they looked quite relaxed, many without uniforms, and some were chatting in the solemn hall in various dialects...
