Chapter 975: Finally, I Can Say This!
Chapter 975: Finally, I Can Say This!
Outside, a Pirate Ship approached, its main cannon still smoking from the last shot.
"Hehe!"
The pirates on board grinned maliciously. Their captain barked orders: "Missed with the first shot! Fire again! We were planning to rob this famous floating restaurant, but looks like there's a Golden Ship here too!"
"Aye, Captain!" a pirate shouted. "That Golden Ship would make a fine prize! Let's take it!"
"Right! With that ship, we'll become legends in the East Blue! Then sailing to the Grand Line will be a breeze!" another pirate added.
The captain shook his head. "No need. That ship's nice, but too flashy. We'll seize it, sell it, and use the funds to recruit more crew. With enough manpower, we'll build a fleet like the old East Blue supreme ruler Krieg had! Fifty ships strong! Then we'll dominate both the East Blue and the Grand Line!"
"Smart thinking, Captain!"
"You always plan ahead!"
The captain raised his hands, silencing the praise with a smug grin. "Enough flattery! First, attack Baratie. Then we'll find out who owns this ship. Fire two more shots to flush out the crew!"
"Aye, Captain!"
The pirates eagerly prepared to fire again. Their bounty of 80 million Berries made them infamous across the East Blue. Even the Navy hesitated to chase them. A mere floating restaurant? Easy prey.
Boom!
The cannon roared again. This time the shot was true, smashing straight toward Baratie's roof.
Suddenly, a wisp of a figure shot into the sky, kicking the incoming cannonball mid-air.
Wham!
The cannonball ricocheted with a sharp clang, flying back faster than it came. It pierced the pirate ship's sail, exploded on the rear deck, and sent black smoke billowing. The pirates froze in shock.
The figure suddenly stepped on air itself, using the very atmosphere as a springboard. With rapid rebounding steps, he closed the distance and landed atop the pirate ship's main cannon.
"I was wondering what all the fuss was about", Sazil stared down at the stunned crew, smirking. "Turns out it's just a bunch of stinky pirates."
Of course Sazil knew Moonstep.
While he focused most of his energy on mastering Iron Body and Surface Scan, he'd picked up some proficiency in the other Six Styles over time.
After all, he was a martial arts prodigy, the rightful heir of the legendary Nailsfist technique. How could he not master unarmed combat?
Especially now with his Devil Fruit ability, he could replicate the "springing" characteristics of air-pounding techniques. Not as skillfully as Klah Mr., but he definitely understood the principle.
And now - pirates!
Finally, his moment had come. Another chance to fight pirates.
Last time he encountered those East Blue "monsters" hiding as weaklings, but this time he'd be damned if there were more like them.
Still, Sazil held back. Better safe than sorry. He waited, watching them carefully.
"Who the hell are you?!" The captain drew his pistol, aiming at Sazil.
At his signal, the pirates brandished their weapons, all pointing at the lone figure.
"Can't you see?" Sazil gestured at his hooded cloak. "I'm obviously Navy."
As a Commander, he could wear whatever he pleased. Unlike Kuro Vice Admiral and Klah Mr. in their formal uniforms, he preferred a fitted short-sleeve top, tight pants, a utility belt, and thick-soled military boots - practical for combat.
Weapons pointed at him, yet Sazil felt no danger.
His skin didn't even sting or itch.
So these were genuine weakling pirates!
"Naval officer?!" The captain instinctively stepped back upon seeing the cloak, then rallied his crew. "So what if he's Navy? He's just one man! We've got numbers!"
"Right! He's alone! Let's take him down!"
"Kill him!"
The pirates hesitated when they saw Navy, but the captain's words reignited their courage. What was one man?
Sazil's lips curled in delight. "Perfect! Finally, I can show East Blue pirates what true terror from the Grand Line feels like!"
Jumping off the cannon, he landed on the deck, cracking his knuckles. "Come on! Let Officer Sazil test your strength! Let's see how far East Blue pirates have sunk!"
"Shoot him!" The captain fired first.
The pirates opened fire or charged with melee weapons.
Bang!
Bang Bang Bang!
Bullets peppered Sazil, leaving not a single mark on his clothes. They made soft clinking sounds against his skin.
When the firing ceased, Sazil finally spoke. "Iron Body."
He lifted his head, his expression smug as he surveyed the stunned pirates. "You'll need more than that to scratch my battle-hardened physique!"
"Monster! He's a monster!" The captain trembled with fear.
How could anyone withstand bullets?! In this farming region of East Blue, even Devil Fruits were legendary myths, let alone Navy's Six Styles techniques.
Techniques only elite Marines in the Grand Line could master were more than enough to crush East Blue pirates.
Sazil had every qualification.
Sure, he might struggle against famous Grand Line powerhouses, but East Blue small-timers? If he lost to them, all those beatings would've been for nothing!
Did they think all that pain left him unchanged?
Vice Admiral Kuro even used to pat his shoulder, saying, "Learn to take hits before you learn to fight." Pain builds strength.
Raising his fist, Sazil declared, "Try my attacks, you fools!"
"Impact Tide - Chaotic Winds!"
Boom!!
His punch exploded against the air, creating a shockwave that flattened the pirates like falling dominoes.
This was an upward strike.
Had he aimed straight, they'd be flying into the sea! He'd rather savor the victory.
"Kneel! Kneel before the mighty Officer Sazil!"
Sazil laughed heartily.
Finally, he could finally say these words!
