Yubel drew two more cards.
"Now, change the Yubel on the field from Attack Position to Defense Position."
The Yubel on the field switched from offense to defense, and a horizontally placed card appeared beneath her feet, with her broad bone wings forming a shield-like barrier in front of her.

Jou commented, "Changing to Defense Position? So, you're utilizing the side effect of Limit Revival."
Yubel smiled and said, "Not bad, Jou. It seems you've been studying hard these past three years, and your grades are quite impressive."
"Indeed, the side effect of Limit Revival. This card can revive a monster with an Attack Power of less than 1000 in Attack Position, but once that monster is changed to Defense Position, it must be destroyed."
She pointed at herself on the field.
"The moment I, Yubel, am changed to Defense Position, due to the effect of 'Limit Revival,' Yubel is destroyed!"
The Continuous Trap Card that had originally revived Yubel now became the trigger for an explosion, blasting Yubel into pieces. Yubel's body was torn apart by the fiery blast, turning into countless fragments that flew in all directions from the fireball.
However, amidst the explosion's fire and billowing black smoke, something even more massive slowly emerged, revealing its form.
It was the figure of a demon. If the first stage of Yubel was merely covered in dragon-like skin and demonic scales, at least maintaining a human form, then the second stage signified a complete abandonment of humanity, transforming into a full-fledged demon.
As the demonic form descended, it was accompanied by an aura of apocalyptic might. The hopeless darkness and chillingly terrifying aura resembled the arrival of a king among demons.
Yet, within that regal figure, there seemed to be an endless sorrow.
"Due to the lack of protective power and the inability to safeguard what was important, that pain gave birth to me, Yubel. This is Yubel's first stage of darkness."
Yubel spoke softly.
"And in order to gain power, I willingly embraced darkness and abandoned something precious. But even so, the form I acquired was hideously ugly. After the physical torment, there was mental anguish, for this ugly and evil form was not understood, rejected, and despised."
She slowly raised her hand.
"This is Yubel's second stage of darkness, the second phase—

Jou looked up at the hideous knight, who had originally sacrificed herself to gain the power of protection, only to end up in such a tragic form.
"Where is the ugliness?"
Jou whispered.
"Even like this, you are still beautiful."
Yubel's pupils contracted as if her heart had been struck, and she took an unconscious step back.
But her momentary daze passed quickly, and darkness once again veiled her eyes.
"No, Jou, you don't understand. You are far from understanding.
Battle!"
She almost yelled, straining her voice.
"Wait until I crush all these unnecessary companions of yours, and then you'll truly understand!
Yubel, the Evil Beloved Knight, attack 'Elemental Hero: New Yuzak'!"
The Evil Beloved Knight let out a sound between a roar and a wail, and a bewitching light flashed in its eyes. The same light shone in New Yuzak's eyes, and an uncontrollable urge surged within him, causing his body to charge forward uncontrollably, swaying as he approached Yubel.
Once the battle was initiated, Yubel would remain unscathed, but New Yuzak's Attack Power and 2500 points of damage would be reflected back onto Jou himself.
"Come, let's share and suffer together, Jou! Then you will truly understand my darkness, my everything!" Yu Bei Er declared.
"I will understand, but not in the way you think," Jou replied.
"And I will not abandon any of the partners I met during my journey. Each irreplaceable companion has made me stronger, not only the fairies but also my friends from the Academy—"
"—I activate my face-down Trap Card, 'Double Chrome Zone'!"
Jou flipped his face-down card, revealing Tenjoin Asuka's signature Trap, which had been upgraded by Asuka in You Xuan's laboratory into an even more formidable real card version.
"Double Chrome Zone can only be activated when an opponent's monster declares an attack on your monster," Jou explained.
"Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the attacking monster's Attack Points, then change that attack into a direct attack on yourself!"

Yu Bei Er exclaimed, "!"
This was a clever countermeasure, and this Trap Card had an even more potent effect on Yu Bei Er than usual. By turning the opponent's attack into a direct attack on themselves, it was a risky move that could have caused significant damage. However, since Yu Bei Er's Attack Points were zero, even a direct attack would cause no harm.
Not only did this strategy avoid collision between the monster and Yu Bei Er, but it also allowed Jou to evade damage and launch a powerful counterattack against his opponent, making it an incredibly effective Trap Card against Yu Bei Er.
"So, the Evil Beloved Knight's attack becomes a direct attack on me," Jou stated. "Then you'll have to endure the attack of the New Universe Warrior, which is 2500 points of damage!"
With the Trap Card's support, the New Universe Warrior instantly regained his senses, breaking free from Yu Bei Er's mental manipulation with a nimble backflip over the Evil Beloved Knight's head. His body transformed into a beam of white light, rushing towards Yu Bei Er.

As the Counter Trap was activated, a massive revolver appeared behind Yu Bei Er. The New Universe Warrior slashed with his hand, but his force was entirely absorbed by an invisible barrier, and the energy was transferred into the revolver.
The gun fired, and a golden light erupted from the revolver, reflecting all of the New Universe Warrior's attacks back at him, piercing Jou's heart. Jou staggered back two steps.
"Jou!" the New Universe Warrior cried out.
After retreating two steps, Jou steadied himself and grinned through gritted teeth, "It's nothing."

He lifted his head and stood firm, saying, "But the effect of Double Chrome Zone isn't over yet.
The selected attacking monster, the 'Elemental Hero: New Universe Warrior,' can attack the opponent directly during the next turn!"
Yu Bei Er coldly stated, "That's only if it survives until the next turn.
I set three cards in my back row."
As he spoke, two cards were banished from the graveyard.
"During the End Phase, I Special Summon two 'Sacrificial Lotus' from the graveyard!"
Jou was surprised, "So the two cards discarded by Angel's Favor were both Sacrificial Lotus?"

"Then, the effect of Yu Bei Er's Evil Beloved Knight!" Yu Bei Er declared, "At the end of the turn, all other monsters on the field are destroyed!
