Chapter 97: Xue'er Arrives
Chapter 97: Xue'er Arrives
A sparring match concluded with the Ice-Fire Evil Tiger, Zhu Wu, being pinned to the ground by her opponents.
With the assistance of a Soul Emperor, and an effect even more potent than the Seven Treasures Lapis Tower, defeat was inevitable despite their initial advantage.
Wang Si had intentionally designed the battle to be challenging, knowing that Zhu Wu needed to adapt to her new body.
As the fight concluded, Wang Si thoughtfully offered the five girls refreshing spiritual tea prepared by Lan.
It was a way to break the ice, and from now on, they were family in the truest sense.
Seated among the group of young girls, Tang Yuehua, the only mature woman present, felt a bit out of place. Helplessly, she moved closer to Wang Si.
"Hey, the time you promised Xue'er is almost here. With so many women around you, are you really going to face her?" Tang Yuehua asked, sipping her tea and glancing at the harmonious group of girls.
Wang Si merely twisted his lips at Tang Yuehua's question and pulled her into his embrace.
Tang Yuehua struggled a bit in front of everyone, but realizing it was futile, she glared at Wang Si.
"You guess whether or not she was watching when I dealt with you. I'm not afraid of her at all."
"Even if she appeared behind me right now, I still wouldn't be afraid!" Wang Si replied casually with a laugh.
Lan, who was instructing Zhu Mingbing on the method of circulating her ice-fire power, heard this and gave Zhu Wu a subtle signal.
Zhu Wu nodded silently, saying nothing.
On the other side, Zhu Yexie, who was discussing the fusion technique of their martial souls with Zhu Zhuqing, noticed that Zhu Zhuqing couldn't help but look up at the sky. She reached out and pulled her down.
Zhu Zhuqing was a bit puzzled but didn't say anything, following her heart.
Wang Si's laughter gradually faded as he felt a stir from the Angelic Power within him.
He looked up.
Wang Si saw not one, but two suns in the sky...
...
Once again, a Soul Emperor-level battle erupted within the inner court of the Tianwu Academy.
Even the students in the outer court couldn't help but glance over: Why was the inner court always under attack, day and night, while they were left alone?
In response, the Tianwu Academy conducted another "drill" and simultaneously eliminated another batch of spies from other forces.
Those who had attempted to plant spies in the Tianwu Academy were exasperated: If you want to directly sweep out our spies next time, just say so. Stop putting on this charade of a meat-grinding plot!
A Soul Emperor dared to cause trouble in the inner court of the Tianwu Academy and even escaped in the end?
Are you trying to fool us? Can we have Soul Douluo-level actors for the next performance? Using a mere Soul Emperor made them feel like their intelligence was being insulted.
...
"Are you even human? I'm already a Soul Emperor, yet I'm still no match for you!" Qian Renxue said weakly, looking at the bull who didn't know how to cherish himself.
"So what if you're a Soul Emperor? It's not like it's that powerful. I can even..."
After four years apart, the reunion of dry wood and raging fire inevitably ignited a spark.
Hearing Wang Si's words, Qian Renxue frowned and pushed him away, turning her head away in a huff.
"What? Are you angry?" Wang Si asked.
Qian Renxue pursed her lips and hummed softly, then turned her head away proudly.
Wang Si chuckled as he played with Qian Renxue's golden hair.
"After four years, Xue'er still knows the poses I like."
Wang Si grabbed Qian Renxue's ankle, intending to initiate something, but she was frightened and quickly kicked away his hand. She sat up, no longer in the mood for joking.
"Alright, stop fooling around. Didn't you say that you could only leave the Wuhun Temple after cultivating to the Soul Saint level? Why are you able to leave so soon?" Qian Renxue asked, moving closer to Wang Si.
He pulled her into his embrace.
Qian Renxue rolled her eyes, giving him a sidelong glance, and then looked a little dejected.
Upon hearing Wang Si's question, Qian Renxue turned away with a slight pout, then spun back around to face him, her expression turning serious. "Wang Si, do you know about gods?" she asked.
Wang Si was taken aback by the unexpected question.
Seeing his reaction, Qian Renxue knew that he was aware of the existence of gods.
Without beating around the bush, she looked directly into his eyes.
Noticing her earnest expression, Wang Si brought out a strand of Luocha divine power that he had taken from Bibi Dong's body.
Sensing the sinister energy, Qian Renxue's suspicions were confirmed. "As I thought," she murmured.
"Possessing this power means you will stand against me. If you give up this power..." Qian Renxue fixed her gaze on Wang Si, awaiting his decision.
For the past few days, she had been cultivating beneath the Angelic God statue when a voice suddenly echoed in her mind.
The voice informed her of the emergence of an evil divine power in this land and that as the heir to the Angelic God, it was her duty to combat this force.
Immediately, Wang Si came to mind. After all, his cultivation methods and rapid increase in strength were rather unusual.
When she thought of him, the voice told her that Wang Si had most likely accepted the inheritance of an evil god.
The notion of a battle between good and evil was indeed thrilling.
However, the voice did not compel Qian Renxue to assume the Angelic God position. Instead, it gave her a choice.
The Angelic God was aware of Qian Renxue's past and the significance of Wang Si in her life, and thus, did not wish to force her. As a result, the decision was left in her hands.
Now, Qian Renxue was presenting Wang Si with a choice of his own.
Hearing Qian Renxue's question, Wang Si smiled, retracting the strand of Luocha divine power and gently cupping her cheeks. "I can agree to anything else, but I've had enough of being manipulated by others," he said.
Hearing this response, Qian Renxue nodded, as if she had expected nothing less. "Since you've chosen your path, I also know what I must choose," she said. "I came out this time for this very reason. Now that I have my answer, I should return to the Wuhun Temple."
With a sigh, Qian Renxue prepared to get up and leave.
However, Wang Si held her back. "You should know that there can't be just one god in a world; there must be two that keep each other in check," he said.
Qian Renxue paused at his words, curious to hear his thoughts.
"I can guess that you want to be the one to keep me in check. But have you considered the possibility that if we both become gods, there might be two gods that control us instead?" Wang Si asked.
Qian Renxue was taken aback by his words, her eyes widening in surprise as she studied Wang Si, amazed that he had come to such a conclusion!
However, what he said did make sense.
If two gods were to appear simultaneously, they would indeed be at a loss.
"So, give it up," Qian Renxue said resolutely. "What's so great about inheriting an evil god? I need a man who stands behind me, not one who opposes me!"
"I also need a woman who stands behind me..." Wang Si replied.
At this, Qian Renxue became annoyed. "You already have so many women! You don't need me!" she exclaimed.
"You're different!" Wang Si asserted.
"How am I different?" Qian Renxue asked.
"Your reasons are bigger..." he trailed off.
"You scoundrel!!!" Qian Renxue exclaimed.
