Chapter 967: The Mysterious Gate
Chapter 967: The Mysterious Gate
September 25, 2017
In the training grounds of Beifeng, where the Mysterious Gate was located, a patch of land suddenly lit up with a bright glow.
The soldiers guarding the area were momentarily startled by the sudden light, quickly assuming defensive postures and notifying their leader.
Just as they were setting up their defenses, the light intensified, and Lu HaiKong appeared with his companions, Huang Zhong and Dian Wei.
"General Lu HaiKong, at your service, Lord. We welcome your return to the city!"
As Lu HaiKong arrived, the local military leader, recognizing him, immediately knelt on one knee, his voice filled with excitement.
Lu HaiKong was well-known among the soldiers, being one of the most promising young warriors from the Huo Zi Camp. They had high expectations of him.
It had been a while since they last saw Lu HaiKong, but he seemed to be in a hurry, so he didn't linger for small talk. He patted the soldier's shoulder in appreciation, "You've worked hard. I have some matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave. I entrust this place to you!"
Lu HaiKong, along with Pan Feng, nodded in agreement, indicating that they would assist with the task. Then, he headed towards the medicine garden with Huang Zhong and Dian Wei.
As for the Third Princess, she had taken a liking to the little white monkey that Lu HaiKong had won in a draw. She held it tightly and didn't let go. After leaving, she waved at Lu HaiKong, then carried the monkey back to the lord's mansion.
Among the three, except for Dian Wei who was just tagging along, the other two had mixed feelings of tension and excitement.
Lu HaiKong was finally about to resolve the issue with Xi Zhi Cai, and Huang Zhong, on the other hand, was anxious to see his son, as he had been working tirelessly for decades to find a cure for his condition.
Especially for Huang Zhong, he had been drafted into the Beifeng army by Lu HaiKong, and before leaving, Hua Tuo had assured him that his son's condition would be significantly improved within ten days, though it would require a long time for complete recovery.
Despite their trust in Hua Tuo, Huang Zhong couldn't help but feel nervous. After all, he had been working for decades to find a cure for his son, and it was understandable to feel a mix of emotions as they neared a potential solution.
About half an hour later, Lu HaiKong and Huang Zhong arrived at the Medicine Garden.
A portion of the Medicine Garden served as the headquarters for the Shennong Department, while the other part was Hua Tuo's base. Since Hua Tuo's arrival, the Medicine Garden had become the highest-level hospital for Beifeng's elite. Consequently, the security measures at the Medicine Garden were of the highest caliber.
The guards at the entrance were Light Armored Warriors, led by members of the Huo Zi Camp.
Even though the Huo Zi Camp members knew Lu HaiKong, entering the Medicine Garden still required a simple security check. Lu HaiKong had to present his identity token for access.
In this world, filled with various mysterious artifacts, it was understandable that a highly-secured location like the Medicine Garden would have stringent security measures. Lu HaiKong, with his own transforming artifact, the Moon Shadow, was well aware of the importance of maintaining secrecy.
After Lu HaiKong and his companions complied with the routine security check, they entered the Medicine Garden. Once inside, they made their way directly to Hua Tuo's area.
The Medicine Garden, since Hua Tuo's arrival, had become a true hub for medical research. Before Hua Tuo, it was primarily used for agricultural research, mainly focused on potatoes and sweet potatoes. The Shennong Department had its roots in these humble crops, and the hardships they endured in the past shaped the Garden's layout, even after Hua Tuo's arrival, most of the Garden remained dedicated to agricultural research.
However, Hua Tuo's section was entirely different. He utilized the entire area for medicinal plant cultivation.

Chapter: The Phoenix Sword
In the tranquil study, a young man sat cross-legged, his eyes closed in deep concentration. On the table before him lay an ancient tome, its pages filled with mystical symbols and arcane knowledge. As he meditated, his mind focused on the intricate patterns within the book, a faint glow emanated from the pages, a subtle energy that only he could perceive.
"The Phoenix Sword," he whispered, his voice filled with reverence. "A legendary weapon, said to bring fiery destruction and rebirth."
As he spoke, the symbols on the page seemed to dance, the glow intensifying, and a warm sensation coursed through his body, as if the sword's power were awakening within him."
"With this sword, I shall bring balance to the land," he vowed, his determination palpable. "And with its power, I will forge a new destiny."
