Chapter 961: The Colossal Sword Boat
Chapter 961: The Colossal Sword Boat
"Lu Chen, one shadow stone is sufficient for a disciple of the Sword Sect. Why don't you sell me the other one, brother Lu? I assure you, the price will be more than satisfactory."
"Brother Lu, please consider me as well."
"Brother Lu..."
A hint of longing laced the gazes of several disciples as they looked at Lu Chen.
Among the sword-type spirit creatures in Heart Sword Lake, the shadow stone was the most elusive due to its unique abilities. Its capacity to enhance a cultivator's battle experience and swordsmanship made it more valuable than other sword-type spirit creatures and treasures.
"Brothers, please don't worry. I haven't decided what to do with these two shadow stones yet." Lu Chen quickly assured them. "But I can promise that if I decide to sell them, I will give priority to the disciples of the Jianfeng Peak."
The concerned disciples finally relented upon hearing this.
Soon enough, all the Sword Sect disciples had gathered, and after a Yuan Ying True Lord activated the teleportation array, they returned to their original positions.
The fellow disciples from Jianfeng Peak each left a message talisman for Lu Chen, repeatedly urging him to keep the shadow stones for them before reluctantly taking their leave.
Lu Chen flew to the entrance of his cave abode.
As soon as he opened the protective array, a flash of white light darted out.
Little White Monkey tightly hugged Lu Chen's leg, its jade-like features devoid of the dignity befitting a fifth-grade demon beast.
"Master! You're back!"
"Ever since you left the cave, I've been longing for your return, and now you're finally back safe and sound!" Little White Monkey exclaimed with heartfelt anguish.
"Remember to wipe the spiritual fruit juice from your mouth before pledging your loyalty next time." Lu Chen chuckled.
"Eating spiritual fruit doesn't diminish my devotion to you, Master." Little White Monkey replied nonchalantly.
It followed Lu Chen into the courtyard.
"Here, Master, let me help you relax after your tiring journey." As Lu Chen sat down, a cup of steaming spirit tea was served.
While he sipped the tea, a pair of white jade arms draped over his shoulders, gently kneading his muscles.
"Have you eaten? You're so weak." Lu Chen remarked casually.
"..."
The white jade arms on his shoulders suddenly tensed, veins popping out.
"Use more strength." Lu Chen slowly drank another mouthful of spirit tea.
Little White Monkey's body stretched taller and taller until it reached a height of about ten feet.
Its two palms, now like huge fans, grasped Lu Chen's shoulders and began to massage him.
"That's a little better."
"As expected of my master, your physical strength surpasses that of many sixth-grade demon beasts!" Little White Monkey exclaimed in awe.
Being a fifth-grade demon beast itself, with a unique bloodline and innate immense strength, it couldn't help but marvel at the resilience of its master's body.
"One needs a strong body to have the energy to cultivate spiritual plants," Lu Chen remarked offhandedly.
"I suppose that makes sense," Little White Monkey paused in its movements, deep in thought.
"By the way, what happened these past two days while I was away? Did anything out of the ordinary occur?" Lu Chen inquired, his eyes narrowed in relaxation as he enjoyed the monkey's massage.
"Everything was normal. Yesterday, a Foundation Establishment female cultivator named Yu Qiushui came by. When she learned that you weren't here, she left a message and departed," Little White Monkey replied slowly.
"Mhm, I understand," Lu Chen nodded slightly, acknowledging the information.
After enjoying the massage for a while, he shooed Little White Monkey away and entered the house.
A flash of spiritual light emanated from the Gluttonous Insect Pouch in his dantian, and the seven irregularly shaped rocks, marred with sword marks, appeared in the room.
Lu Chen extended his finger, infusing it with a subtle sword qi that penetrated the rocks.
"Hmm? Why is it empty?"
Lu Chen focused his spiritual sense on one of the rocks, his heart skipping a beat as he detected no mental fluctuations.
"So they've all squeezed into one stone."
On one of the sword-marked rocks, Lu Chen found seven shadows huddled together.
He patiently waited for a moment before evenly distributing the Shadow Stone spirits across each rock and restraining them with restrictions.
"It's a good thing I have this special ability. Otherwise, if I sold a Shadow Stone spirit, the buyer would only end up with an ordinary rock, and I'd be in deep trouble."
Lu Chen couldn't help but sigh.
Subsequently, he arrived near the Sword Grass Spirit Field and performed the Earth Drawing Technique, instantly creating a massive pool.
He poured the ordinary sword qi spirit liquid he had collected from Heart Sword Lake into the pool and set up a restriction around it.
With a thought, over thirty fine ropes appeared in the air.
The ropes, swift as lightning, surrounded Lu Chen and transformed into strands of silk of various colors.
Lu Chen controlled them and threw them into the pool.
As soon as they entered the spirit pool and came into contact with the familiar sword qi spirit liquid, the dozens of fine ropes quietly transformed, weaving themselves into swordfish that happily swam in the depths of the pool.
At the same time, strands of sword qi silently seeped out of Lu Chen's body, imperceptibly influencing the sword qi spirit liquid in the pool.
"I shall call it the Little Sword Pool from now on."
"I hope that one day, the Little Sword Pool will grow to the same scale as the sword pool of the Heavenly Sword Sect, becoming a sword-related treasure ground capable of nurturing high-grade sword grass spirit seeds."
Lu Chen thought to himself.
These swordfish were just the beginning, and how far they could go depended on his future fortune.
In the blink of an eye, two months had passed since his return from Heart Sword Lake.
During this period, Lu Chen maintained his previous lifestyle, spending most of his time in his cave abode, cultivating spirit plants, playing with Little White Monkey, and raising the swordfish.
Occasionally, he would socialize with his fellow disciples from Jianfeng Peak, as well as Ge Pu and Shen Ye, leading a simple yet fulfilling life.
"Lu Shizi, are you in your cave abode?"
One day, a familiar elderly voice echoed from outside the cave abode.
Lu Chen's mind conjured the image of a small, elderly man holding a pitch-black giant sword.
The elder's name was Jin Zaiqian, and he had reached the Mid-Yuan Ying stage. Lu Chen had met him briefly when he first joined Jianfeng Peak.
"Uncle Jin, I apologize for not coming out to greet you. Please forgive me!"
Lu Chen's figure flashed, and he appeared outside, courteously welcoming the elder in.
"It doesn't matter."
"I came here today to give you a treasure."
As the frail elder finished speaking, a colossal sword boat appeared in the courtyard.
The boat resembled a giant sword, adorned with profound and abstruse array patterns all over its body. Spiritual light flowed, as if it could penetrate through layers of space.
"Uncle Jin, is this..."
Lu Chen had a vague guess and asked curiously.
"It's the Colossal Sword Boat, a unique flying boat of our sect, forged by the Hundred Artisans Sword Peak.
The lowest grade is three, and while its defensive and speed capabilities are ordinary, it can still serve as a decent means of transportation."
"The highest grade is seven, equipped with multiple restrictions, boasting excellent offensive, defensive, and space-piercing capabilities, allowing for rapid travel through the void."
"Hearing that you will often travel through the void in the future, your Senior Brother Hai Zhen asked the Hundred Artisans Sword Peak to refine this seven-grade Colossal Sword Boat for you, hoping to alleviate some of your unnecessary troubles."
Jin Zaiqian explained slowly.
"Thank you, Senior Brother Hai Zhen, Uncle Jin, and the other sword peak uncles, for your generosity."
Lu Chen expressed his sincere gratitude.
