Chapter 960: Incarnation
Chapter 960: Incarnation
The next day, You Xuan woke up earlier than usual.
He had a good night's sleep, and upon waking, he felt refreshed and energized. However, as he recalled the events of his dream, he couldn't help but feel a sense of disbelief. It seemed too fantastical to be true, especially the part about the half-immortal Kotzuki Yuugi appearing in his dream and gifting him a card.
"Chen Mo?" You Xuan called out.
He turned his head and saw Chen Mo kneeling obediently on the bed beside him, tilting her head and waiting for his instructions.
"Did you come to my dream last night?" You Xuan asked.
Chen Mo nodded.
"Did we meet Yuugi in my dream? Was all that real?" You Xuan inquired further.
Chen Mo nodded again, then after a moment's thought, she extended her small hand and pointed towards the card box on the bedside table.
You Xuan understood her gesture and took it to mean that he should examine the card that had been gifted to him. He approached the card box, opened it, and the topmost card seemed to be the one he had received in his dream.
However, as he drew the card, he noticed that it was still coated in the same golden light from his dream. The faint golden glow enveloped the card, obscuring its content. Through the light, he could barely make out the card's image and text, but it was too blurry to discern clearly.
You Xuan sighed.
"Another card with an unclear meaning," he muttered.
Chen Mo's large eyes narrowed as she turned to him, her expression filled with dissatisfaction. "Who are you calling unclear?" she asked.
You Xuan contemplated the card, thinking that since it was gifted by Yuugi, it likely held some special significance. Given the current situation, it might even be related to their confrontation with the Yeshen. After all, Yuugi had encountered the Yeshen before.
However, upon further reflection, he recalled that the card Yuugi had given to Yucheng Shidai was the Winged Kuriboh. While it was an important companion and a precious fairy to Yucheng Shidai, its practical value in battle was not exceptionally high.
Regardless, You Xuan decided to keep the card for the time being, thinking that he could contact the Hai Ma Ji Ti or Xiang Xiang She later to seek their technological assistance in deciphering its purpose.
You Xuan got out of bed, freshened up, and had a simple breakfast at the hotel. As he descended to the lobby, he found that both Malik and his sister were already waiting for him.
"Did you sleep well last night?" Malik asked politely.
"I slept very well," You Xuan replied. "Not only that, but I also had a chat with Mr. Yuugi in my dream."
Initially, both Malik and his sister thought he was joking. However, when You Xuan recounted his dream and revealed the card shimmering with golden light, their smiles gradually faded, replaced by expressions of disbelief. They couldn't help but marvel at what they were hearing.
After a moment, Malik spoke, "It's been many years since we last saw him, and I fear that Mr. Yuugi's current realm has reached a level beyond our imagination."
"Since Mr. Yuugi gave you this card, it will likely be of use in the future," Isis added. "You should keep it with you."
"That's exactly what I wanted to ask," You Xuan said. "What's the plan? Are we going to take the initiative and seek out those Yeshen?"
"Indeed," Isis confirmed. "The seals on the Yeshen are about to be broken, and even if we ignore them, it's only a matter of time. The longer we wait, the stronger they will become.
Since we've decided to remove the obstacles, it's better to take action sooner rather than later. They are not fully recovered, so they might be easier to deal with."
Malik interjected, "The problem lies in finding the location of the Yeshen's seal. At this point, only the responsible Guardian Elves can locate that place."
You Xuan lowered his head and looked at the Duel Disk. The eye on the disk floated out, and with a hint of tension, he asked, "Huh? Are you talking about me? But I can't remember anything."
Malik continued, "The Tomb Keepers have records of ancient rituals, including some that allow communication with fairies and others that aid in unlocking their power and stimulating their evolution. We've thoroughly studied some of these rituals and found one that might help in recovering the fairies' memories."
His eyes widened in shock, and after a moment of surprise, he asked anxiously, "Does it... hurt?"
You Xuan glanced at him and completely ignored the question, "Alright, lead the way. Let's get this over with quickly."
The eye protested, "Are you ignoring the wishes of the person involved?"
"This way," Isis said, "The ceremony will take place at the family altar, and I had everything prepared in advance last night."
As the three were about to turn and leave the hall, after taking only a few steps, they saw a man blocking the doorway.
He was a tall, muscular man dressed in black, with a broad back and a thick waist, his face devoid of almost any color, as if he were a zombie with stiff facial muscles and no expression. However, his eyes were filled with murderous intent, as if a desire to kill was about to burst out at any moment, and within that intent was an endless darkness.
All three were experienced duelists with a keen sense of darkness and hostility. They stopped in unison, their gazes fixed on the man.
Malik asked in a deep voice, "Who are you?"
The man didn't answer, and You Xuan narrowed his eyes, "As expected, it's not that simple to let us move freely."
After a brief pause, You Xuan said, "I guess it's the Abyss God?"
As soon as he spoke, both Malik and Isis were startled, and they carefully examined the man before them.
"Last time it was the Eraser," You Xuan continued, "So who are you this time? The Source of Fear? Or is it the Avatar of the God himself, coming out to battle?"
The big man remained silent, and after a couple of seconds of silence, he opened his Duel Disk.
He stepped back a few paces, and once he was in position, he said, "Your guess is correct. I am the Avatar of the God, the Supreme Abyss God. However..."
His expression turned even more sinister, and he spoke in a low, ominous tone.
"Dealing with mere humans doesn't require the power of the Abyss God."
The most recent, smallest, and shortest chapter is available now!
"Is that so? Well, I'm looking forward to it."
You Xuan raised his arm to signal the other two to step back, and he also opened his Duel Disk.
Malik and Isis exchanged a glance, both knowing that their strength was inferior to You Xuan's. Therefore, they didn't speak up to take the challenge but instead stepped back.
"Duel!" x2
[You Xuan, LP 4000]
[Abyss God, LP 4000]
You Xuan: "Then I'll go first and draw a card."
You Xuan drew a card and then revealed the card in his hand.
"Magic Card 'Jar of Greed,' draw two more cards from the deck."
You Xuan drew two more cards. The Abyss God mumbled something unintelligible, and it was unclear what he was saying.
"Set a monster in Defense Position and set another face-down card. End Phase."
You Xuan waved his hand, setting two face-down cards in front and behind, ending his turn.
Abyss God: "Then it's my turn, draw a card."
He slowly drew a card, frowned, and then directly drew two more cards from his hand, showing them as well.
The card in front was clearly a Maiden Card.
"Monster Effect of 'Dark Angel Ishizu.'" Abyss God explained, "Activate by discarding this card and a 'Dark Angel' card from your hand, then draw two cards from your deck."
He also showed the card that was originally blocked by Ishizu, and it was also a 'Dark Angel' card.
"Send the two 'Dark Angels' to the Graveyard and draw two cards from your deck."
Although the exchange of cards seemed ordinary, You Xuan's expression became slightly more serious.
Could it be a 'Dark Angel'?
