Chapter 96: Magic Items Are Also Part of a Wizard's Strength!
Chapter 96: Magic Items Are Also Part of a Wizard's Strength!
You’re a Wizard, not a Berserker!
Ivan saw this and helplessly complained, but he knew that Aisha was different from the weak and immobile Chino of the past. She wouldn’t just stand there and take a beating; a mobile battle was more her style.
So the first thing to do was to restrict her movement.
The Purple Flame Barrier in front of him slowly dissipated after losing control. Once Aisha had stabilized, more Dummies were activated. Ivan shamelessly hid behind several Dummies, using them as shields, and then controlled the other Dummies to attack from the front, left, and right.
Perhaps feeling that the attack was too weak, Ivan decided to block Aisha’s only escape route. He waved his Wand and pointed it at the square wooden tables behind Aisha.
“Tables Fly!”
Under the influence of magic, several wooden tables rolled towards Ivan’s direction, with Aisha standing right in the middle.
The tables were large, and even the Purple Flame Barrier from before couldn’t easily burn them to ashes.
Ivan felt that even if Aisha didn’t lose, she would be in a sorry state. But soon, he noticed that Aisha was smiling even more, and her laughter even made him a bit afraid.
“Thunder Blast!”
Aisha’s voice suddenly echoed in the training room. The tip of her Wand glowed, and orange-red flames shot out, colliding with the flying wooden tables.
The moment they made contact, the tables exploded into fragments and were immediately consumed by the flames.
Wood chips and ashes drifted down, obscuring the light from the magic lamps, making the entire training room hazy and dim. Ghostly flames rose in the center, but Ivan soon realized they weren’t ghost flames but a small cluster of Fiend Fire!
The animated Dummies that had rushed over were instantly reduced to ashes. Ivan swallowed hard, but fortunately, the Fiend Fire soon dissipated, either because it couldn’t be sustained or because it was afraid of burning him alive.
“Gale Clean!”
A powerful gust of wind blew through the training ground, sweeping away the floating wood chips. Aisha’s face wore a half-smile, and the rings on her left hand faintly glowed with magical runes as she took steps towards Ivan.
Bright magical beams followed closely.
The green ones were Stupefy, the purple ones were Fear Curse, and the black-gray ones were completely unfamiliar to Ivan, but getting hit by any of them wouldn’t end well.
Ivan struggled to continuously construct magic barriers in front of him, but the various spells came too fast, and the newly formed barriers were shattered within a second.
The usable debris and cover objects had been mostly destroyed in the previous rounds. Now, the training room contained only him, Aisha, and a pile of debris.
The animated Dummies around him took a few more hits and fell to the ground, unable to get up.
Ivan even wondered if Aisha was casting spells without incantations and how she had such inhumanly fast hands.
However, after a while, Ivan noticed something unusual about Aisha’s right glove and the magical fluorescence flowing through her rings.
You’re cheating!
Ivan almost shouted out in anger, but in that moment of distraction, he was hit by a black beam. The Shield Charm on his body flashed and deflected the beam, but it then shattered and disappeared. The black beam turned and shot towards Aisha.
Aisha acted as if she hadn’t seen it, and the black beam disintegrated before it even got close. At the same time, the badge on Aisha’s Wizard robe gradually dimmed and developed a crack.
"Disarm!" Aisha didn't give Ivan any chance. After breaking through Ivan's Shield Charm, she immediately followed up with a Disarm spell.
Losing his last line of defense, Ivan instinctively wanted to spend his achievement points to activate the Experience Card Mode and use the Shadow of the Unicorn, but he held back. After all, this wasn't a real battle, and it wasn't worth the cost.
Hesitating, Ivan's Wand flew high into the air and landed in Aisha's hand.
Aisha stretched out her hand to catch it, then pointed her Wand at Ivan again.
"Upside-Down"
"Wait, I surrender!" Ivan raised his hands without hesitation, but it was too late. His body quickly inverted under the influence of magic, leaving him looking up at Aisha's thighs.
"In a real battle, the enemy won't let you off just because you surrender." Aisha squatted down and tapped Ivan's forehead with her Wand.
After giving him a lesson, Aisha waved her Wand to release Ivan.
"I've never seen ordinary combat practice rely on Magic Items. You're cheating", Ivan said glumly as he got up from the ground.
After fighting for so long, he could clearly see that Aisha's overwhelming strength in the battle was due to the numerous Magic Items she used.
"Magic Items are also a part of a Wizard's strength!"
Aisha said, though she was inwardly bleeding at the thought of the many one-time-use Magic Items she had used, which would be difficult to repair or recreate, costing a lot of effort and Galleons.
Ivan's strength had truly exceeded her expectations. To maintain her authority as a mother and avoid looking incompetent in the battle, she had no choice but to spend the money.
After getting his Wand back, Ivan reflected on the previous battle. Aisha's strength was indeed astonishing.
Even when she was on the defensive, she could easily counter his attacks, and when she took the initiative, he could only defend himself.
Ivan estimated that even if he used his bloodline magic, he couldn't be sure of victory, as Aisha hadn't used her full strength and many lethal spells couldn't be used in a practice match.
Thinking about this, Ivan felt a bit disappointed, and Aisha naturally noticed. She smiled and said,
"What, are you still thinking about beating me to be satisfied?"
Seeing Aisha's smile, Ivan shook his head frantically; he didn't want to experience being hung upside down again.
"Can I learn the Patronus Charm now?" Ivan didn't forget the purpose of the battle and quickly asked.
Aisha straightened Ivan's disheveled clothes after the fight and then had him use the Patronus Charm once so she could think about how to teach him.
"Patronus Charm!" Ivan waved his Wand, and wisps of white mist began to emanate from the Wand's tip, gathering around the two of them. The faint sound of a unicorn's neigh could be heard.
A sense of peace and tranquility washed over both of them.
Such a unique phenomenon surprised Aisha as well; a normal Patronus Charm wasn't like this.
