Chapter 958: I'll Exhaust the Four Seas to Heal You!
Chapter 958: I’ll Exhaust the Four Seas to Heal You!
Gramps sent Kaido crashing into the earth with a single strike. Meanwhile, Kuro’s blade briefly dazed Charlotte·Big Mom, who hadn’t yet activated her Full Power form, leaving her momentarily dizzy. They seized the opportunity without hesitation.
Almost as soon as Kuro took flight, a golden light appeared beside him. The two soared into the sky, vanishing into the cloud layer.
“Let me show you something new!”
Kuro raised his hand, summoning an entire island from the heavens. It plummeted toward the battlefield below.
Without waiting, he sped off in another direction, leaving the Wano Country behind.
The island, large enough to blot out the heart of Rabbit Town, descended with a shadowy aura.
Meanwhile, the Beast Pirates and Big Mom Pirates’ coalition force, rushing to the scene, spotted the falling island.
“Hey, what’s that?!”
Charlotte·Big Mom’s fourteenth daughter, Smoothie, stared up in alarm. “Perospero big brother, is that Golden Lion’s technique?!”
“Ah.”
Perospero nodded grimly. “You weren’t there last time—that previous attack was even more outrageous!”
Boom!!
As he spoke, the island shattered midair, exploding into countless rocks that rained down like a storm.
A soul-shaking tremor radiated outward, sending chills down everyone’s spines.
“What is this?!”
Quinn shuddered, their scalp prickling. This wasn’t Kaido’s terrifying aura or Golden Lion’s rampaging Killing Intent. It felt akin to Big Mom, yet far more fear-inducing. Why?!
Back in Rabbit Town, Charlotte·Big Mom’s blue veins bulged as her body swelled to monstrous proportions. Lowering her head, her eyes blazed with white light ready to erupt.
Her thundercloud, Zeus, scattered in terror, leaving her massive form to crash down.
Boom!!
Her colossal body struck the ground, kicking up a cloud of smoke and dust.
From a bottomless crater, a shadow leaped out—Kaido himself.
His body was torn and bleeding but rapidly healing in a grotesque frenzy.
“Damn you, Lucius Kro!!”
As he vaulted from the crater, Kaido roared. But suddenly, he froze, turning sharply.
Napoleon lay discarded nearby. Zeus and Prometheus cowered in the sky, while Hera alone wore a bewildered expression. Charlotte·Big Mom, drooling and vacant-eyed, stared ahead with her radiant white gaze.
“Big Mom! Snap out of it!!” Kaido bellowed.
Boom!!
In reply, she lunged with a fist bulging with blue veins.
“Big Mom!!”
Kaido swung his Wolf’s Spirit Thundercloud, clashing his staff against Big Mom’s fist.
Boom!!
The ground exploded beneath them.
Meanwhile, Kuro had already fled far away—but the sound made him glance back.
“Oh~ That form of Big Mom’s? It’s terrifying. Better not fight her like this. She’s a nightmare to handle.” Lucius Kro mused.
“Who wants to fight them anyway!” Kuro growled, clenching his teeth. “What the hell are you doing here?!”
“Oh, just gathering intelligence,” Lucius Kro chuckled. “After all, Kaido and Big Mom are major players. With their current influence and strength, they could bring back the chaos of forty years ago.”
“Rocks? I’d still bet on Marshall D. Teach.”
Kuro snorted. “Though he’ll probably disappear for a while now.”
After being utterly crushed and losing half his crew, Marshall D. Teach himself barely swung his blade. Though the Dark-Dark Fruit absorbs damage, the pain from his injuries—and his Killing Intent—would haunt him for a long time.
Flying onward, Kuro felt no trace of Kaido or Big Mom’s aura. He exhaled in relief.
“Hmph!”
As his aura wavered, he coughed up blood.
Thankfully, Gramps had warned him. Otherwise, he’d have forgotten why he came to Wano in the first place: this fight was never meant to last. Getting carried away was too easy.
That cursed Yokai Blade—what a menace.
Ever since obtaining it, every time he wielded it, rage overtook him.
Yokai Blade is Yokai Blade.
Kuro glanced at the weapon in his hand, clicked his tongue, and released it, sending it soaring skyward.
His crimson armor dissolved into red ribbons, revealing his battered body. Blood seeped from his abdomen, staining his surroundings crimson. A gaping hole marred his chest, his ribs bent inward, his face streaked with fresh blood. He looked like a vengeful ghost.
Wiping the blood from his face with his ability, Kuro glared at Lucius Kro. “I came to help you, yet I’m the one bleeding worse! You’re the injured one!”
“Just lucky timing, old man,” Lucius Kro grinned. “But you arrived perfectly. If you hadn’t, I might’ve been severely injured. Those two were determined to stop me—retreating would’ve cost dearly.”
“You’re threatening me?!”
“Don’t worry,” Kuro snapped. “I’ve got Lida! I’ll heal every ounce of your wounds—even if it drains me dry!”
For now, Kuro had no complaints. Being more injured than Gramps was a good problem.
If Gramps had collapsed, Kuro would’ve been doomed.
That damned old man was capable of anything.
At this critical juncture, even if Gramps was worse off, Kuro would exhaust the four seas to save him.
He’d prop Gramps up as Admiral—even if it meant becoming Admiral himself.
The Admiral candidates were already a pain. If he actually became Admiral, his life would be over.
“Mm.”
Lucius Kro shrugged, his gaze unfathomable, then shifted topics. “Kuro, how did your fight with Marshall D. Teach go?”
“G-3’s gone,” Kuro spat. “That bastard bluffed—he spread false news about Arabasta. While the Navy scrambled to Arabasta, he targeted me instead. G-3’s finished.”
“G-3 Fortress? No big loss,” Lucius Kro replied. “Rebuild it elsewhere.”
“But rebuilding takes time! I’m injured this badly—can’t I take a break? Let me retire to East Blue for a few decades to recover!”
“First, we’ll return to Headquarters.”
“Later,” Kuro grumbled, patting his stomach. “I haven’t eaten in days. Let’s find an island to resupply. I need food—this wound’s draining me.”
He needed urgent treatment.
