Chapter 95: Spring Cattle and Sheep Evaluation Contest
Chapter 95: Spring Cattle and Sheep Evaluation Contest
After a series of tests and assessments, Zack finally offered a high price of 600 Pokedollars for the MooMoo Milk.
Naoki proudly accepted the money that Zack handed over to him.
Once the transaction was complete, Zack drove off in his large truck, leaving the ranch.
Naoki, gazing at the distant sunset and the darkening sky, couldn't help but stretch lazily, relaxing his muscles.
It was getting late; it was time to prepare dinner for everyone!
As dusk fell, birds returned to their nests.
The serene and peaceful feeling of Rustboro Town was accentuated by the warm glow of the setting sun.
After leaving Naoki's ranch, Mu Ping made his way to Rustboro Town.
For the night, he planned to rest at the Pokemon Center in town.
Using the video phone inside the Pokemon Center, Mu Ping contacted his teacher, intending to report to her about his experiences that day.
As the video phone connected, a young woman with glasses, tanned skin, and long purple hair appeared on the screen.
This was Miss Lei He, the history teacher at Orange College, who was also in charge of guiding this year's new students.
"Good evening, Miss Lei He!" Mu Ping greeted her with a broad smile.
Miss Lei He adjusted her glasses and looked at the boy on the screen, with a Mightyena and a Taillow perched on his shoulders, one on each side.
"It seems you've successfully taken your first step as a Pokemon Trainer. Congratulations, Mu Ping."
Mu Ping scratched the back of his head, feeling a bit embarrassed. He then proceeded to tell her about how he had chased after the Taillow that day and successfully captured it.
At the end, he hesitated and asked, "Um... Miss Lei He, have you ever seen a glowing Sitrus sheep?"
Lei He: "?"
Mu Ping: "Today I met a very mysterious person who helped me capture the Taillow. He's a ranch owner, and he has a lot of... "
Mu Ping paused, searching for the right words: "... very peculiar Pokemon on his ranch."
Lei He's interest was piqued at this: "Oh?"
Mu Ping: "Sheep that glow green, a Praying Rainquaza that waters crops, and a Pokemon I've never seen before, not even in the Pokedex."
He recounted in detail everything he had encountered at the ranch that day.
Initially, Lei He didn't seem too concerned: "Some Pokemon do emit light during evolution, indicating that the trainer has pushed that Pokemon to its limit."
"While a Rainquaza is quite rare, it's not unheard of for one to help with crop irrigation."
However, when Mu Ping described the unknown Pokemon he had seen, she couldn't help but show a keen interest.
"A skeleton similar to a Mototile, with a red body and an extremely robust appearance... Are you sure you didn't mistake it for something else?"
Mu Ping quickly assured her, "I'm absolutely certain!"
"Oh ho, it seems you've stumbled upon something intriguing! It's quite thought-provoking..."
This description reminded her of the ancient Pokemon, the Wing King, once recorded in ancient exploration notes as having the power to split the earth with its fists.
But Lei He was also a bit uncertain.
After a moment's thought, she said to the new student, "I just remembered something. Let's leave it here for today!
She intended to look up some information.
There, among the vast collection of ancient books, was the Purple and Purple Book written by the ancient explorer Hai Zhe.

"Mr. Naoki, you have a letter!"
One morning, as Naoki was instructing MooMoo Milk on how to use the automatic milking machine in the Pokemon Hut, he suddenly heard the voice of the postal worker, Evan, calling out to him.
He asked MooMoo Milk to stop and stepped out of the Pokemon Hut to receive the letter from Evan.
Evan's face lit up with a sunny smile as he said, "This is from Mayor Thomas."
Mayor Thomas? Intrigued, Naoki opened the envelope.
[To Naoki:
I hope this letter finds you well. How are things at the ranch? I heard from Zack that you've started raising MooMoo Milk, what a surprise! Your grandfather would be so proud to see how hard you're working on the ranch.
Speaking of which, I bet you have quite a few Pokemon cows and sheep on your ranch by now, am I right?
In a few days, the town will be hosting a Spring Cattle and Sheep Evaluation Contest, and all the nearby ranches will be participating. Everyone will bring their Pokemon cows and sheep to be evaluated by the town's Pokemon breeders.
The winners will be determined based on the Pokemon's coat and mental state to see which ones have been cared for the best.
The town has prepared a mysterious grand prize for the ranch that comes in first place! If you plan on joining us, please come to the Celebration Plaza on the morning of February 24th. I look forward to seeing you there.
—Thomas]
Spring Cattle and Sheep Evaluation Contest?
Naoki's interest was piqued.
Evan, who had been standing nearby, seemed to already know about the event. He asked, "Are you going to participate, Mr. Naoki? Oh, and your riding sheep have evolved!"
"Yes, they evolved just a few days ago," Naoki smiled and asked, "Have you participated in these contests before?"
Evan nodded, "Of course! A lot of people from town join in. Last year's winner was the Merily Sheep from the Light Green Ranch. I hear the competition will be even fiercer this year! Are you going to give it a shot?"
Upon hearing this, Naoki turned to look at the three lazy-looking Ride Cargo.
His mind drifted back to the day when the Ride Cargos had evolved, and he cleared his throat before answering, "I guess I'll give it a shot!"
"Then I'll be sure to cast my vote for you!" Evan said with a brilliant smile.
After delivering the letter, Evan prepared to leave.
But Naoki called out to him, "I'm new here, so I don't know much about the town. Are there any other festivals besides the cattle and sheep evaluation contest?"
"Festivals... there are plenty!"
Evan's eyes lit up as he described them:
"There's the Spring Horse Race at the end of March. On that day, everyone rides their own horse Pokemon, like Rapidash, Zebstrika, and Mudsdale, and some passing-by trainers also join in the fun!
"Then there's the summer fireworks display and fishing contest, the autumn harvest festival and food festival, and in winter, we have Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve celebrations. It's always a lively time with the town's people and Pokemon coming together."
