Chapter 945: Gigantic Ape
Chapter 945: Gigantic Ape
"Gigantic Plant's effect, Special Summon 'Carrot Man' from the Deck to the Graveyard!"
The card that had just been sent to the Graveyard not long ago returned, and You Xuan drew it back into his hand. He placed the Monster Card on the Duel Disk, and a pale blue summoning ripple emanated from the disk, transforming into a projection that appeared in the field.
This monster had a unique appearance, true to its name, with a body almost entirely made of carrots. It had a slender carrot head, a pair of sly eyes, and its hands and feet were also four large carrots, giving it an abstract look.
[Carrot Man, ATK 1900]
Mr. T scoffed, "Wow, do you think you can defeat me with such a cartoonish monster?"
"Don't underestimate the power of cartoon characters," You Xuan smiled, "I set two cards, and it's the end of my turn."
Mr. T drew a card and said, "It's my turn now."
Although You Xuan vaguely remembered the cards used by this dark henchman in the animation, he also knew that his opponent didn't have a fixed Deck and changed tactics each time he appeared, so he couldn't rely too much on his memory.
As soon as Mr. T drew a card, he slowly raised his head and suddenly let out a strange, eerie laugh.
"I activate the Quick-Play Spell, 'Hand Destruction.' Both players discard two cards from their hands, and then draw two new cards from their Decks."
You Xuan glanced at his remaining hand, quickly chose two cards to discard to the Graveyard, and then drew new cards. He only took a quick glance at the new cards and immediately shifted his attention back to Mr. T, watching for any tricks.
As soon as the cards were sent to the Graveyard, a massive dark shadow seemed to flash behind Mr. T, and a deep, rumbling roar emanated from his hand, though it was unidentifiable.
"It seems that one of the cards you discarded just now," Mr. T adjusted his sunglasses, "was a Monster Card."
"Maybe," You Xuan replied, "so what?"
Mr. T gave a dry laugh without answering directly, but then changed the topic.
"There are many unknown realms hidden in this world," Mr. T said, "arrogant humans always think they know everything about the world they live in, but they only see a tiny fraction of it.
There are countless realms that humans have never set foot in. For example, in the Indian Ocean, as you call it, there is an isolated island that nurtures a special power.
Deep within that primeval island resides a lone ruler with extraordinary abilities. And now, that power is in my hands. Today, you will witness its true form!"
He drew a Monster Card from his hand.
"When your opponent sends a Monster Card from their hand or Deck to the Graveyard, this card can be Special Summoned from the hand in face-down Defense Position!
The ruler of Skull Island, the Rock Giant—
—Gravel Ape - Gigantic Gravel King Kong, Summon!!!"
As the monster was summoned, the surroundings suddenly transformed into a dense and mysterious jungle. The rocks in the jungle began to move, rising majestically, and only after rising halfway up did it become apparent that it wasn't a mountain but a colossal ape.
The ape-like creature was as tall as a mountain, with a solid body covered not by fur but by a layer of gravel that shimmered with a faint light, as if it were wearing a natural suit of armor. The giant rocks and its body had merged into one, and with each movement, they collided, emitting a deep, rhythmic sound like an ancient war drum.
[Gravel Ape - Gigantic Gravel King Kong, DEF 2000]
You Xuan's eyelids twitched slightly.
Hold on, Skull Island dude, did you come to the wrong movie set? This pitch-black giant ape did resemble the Skull Island dude from his memory, but upon closer inspection, they weren't exactly the same.
The most striking difference was that the giant ape's muscular body seemed to be composed of rocks, and from a distance, it resembled a pitch-black mountain peak.
But this giant ape only flashed by, quickly crouching down and transforming into a pitch-black card that lay horizontally on the field.
"If you think that summoning a beast in Defense Position is enough to feel secure, you're being too naive." Mr. T said as he banished a monster card from his graveyard, and with a sweep of his arm, a monster card appeared above his head. As a golden light effect was released, a dimensional vortex appeared behind the card, swallowing it.
"The effect of 'AD Alterer' in the graveyard is activated by removing it from play." Mr. T explained, "By removing 'AD Alterer' from the graveyard, select one monster on the field, and change its battle position to Attack Position! I choose the face-down 'Gravel Ape - Gigantic Gravel King Kong' on my field, changing it from face-down Defense Position to face-up Attack Position!"
The horizontal card flipped, and countless black gravel fragments flew in all directions. The giant ape's body was released, and as it stood upright, it pounded its chest with both fists, letting out a roar that shook the heavens and the earth.

"Gigantic Gravel King Kong, activate your monster effect!" Mr. T commanded.
"When this card is flipped face-up, you can select up to two cards on the field, and destroy the chosen cards."
Without hesitation, Mr. T pointed at two defensive walls on You Xuan's field.
"Destroy the Giant Plant and Hu Lou Ji Ren!"
The giant ape roared and punched the ground. The entire field seemed to sink under the impact, and black gravel fragments were launched towards You Xuan's two monsters.
The Giant Plant and Hu Lou Ji Ren were both pierced and shattered, leaving the field.
"With that, the annoying weaklings are cleared." Mr. T said, "Now, it's time for a direct attack.
One for One, take a look at the hand!
With your endless wrath, crush your enemies! Gigantic Gravel King Kong, attack!"
The giant ape roared, its red eyes seemed to spew fire, and its massive iron fist descended upon You Xuan.
The raging wind pressure swept over You Xuan, who looked up unfazed, shrugging his shoulders.
"He only has eyes for the monsters on the field, completely ignoring my face-down cards. No wonder he was five-for-one."
Indeed, this was a famous scene in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series, where Yugi Muto defeated Mr. T in a five-for-one duel.
"Do you have time to whine when you're about to die?" Mr. T asked.
Yuan Xuan didn't say a word, merely snapping his fingers.
"I activate my face-down card. Continuous Trap, 'Cursed Ivy'.
Select one 'Ivy' monster from your graveyard and Special Summon it in Defense Position, then equip this card to it." (Original Card)
Yuan Xuan pinched the monster card that had been banished from the graveyard with his fingers.
"Special Summon 'Ivy Wall' from the graveyard in Defense Position."
Countless emerald ivy vines emerged from the graveyard, crisscrossing and quickly forming a wall in front of Yuan Xuan.
【Ivy Wall, DEF 1200】
"You're trying to prolong the fight with weak monsters." Mr. T said, "Gigantic Gravel King Kong, destroy that wall of weaklings."
The giant ape didn't hesitate, punching down with all its might. The tiny ivy wall couldn't withstand such a powerful blow and was instantly shattered into pieces.
However, strangely, the broken Ivy Wall didn't disappear from the field immediately. Instead, the scattered ivy fragments flew towards Mr. T's field, taking root in several empty monster zones and sprouting new growth.
Mr. T's face changed slightly: "What?"
