Chapter 94: You Dare to Speak of Six Styles?
Chapter 94: You Dare to Speak of Six Styles?
The girl shook her head, stepped back again, then suddenly turned and fled down the alley.
Kai Shao's lips curved into a faint smile. His figure vanished in a flash, reappearing right before her.
"You can't escape. Come back with me quietly."
He reached out to grab her, but the girl closed her eyes tightly and instinctively curled her body.
Just as his hand touched her shoulder, his arm suddenly froze. His gaze shifted toward the alley entrance.
Several figures had appeared there.
Kuro leaned against the wall, cigar dangling from his lips, smoke curling around his face.
Lida stood expressionlessly crunching potato chips while watching the scene.
Klah stood with hands clasped behind his back, silent and motionless.
Behind them, several Navy men stood at attention.
"That's 'Shave', right?" Lida said, pointing at Kai Shao with a chip. "He can use 'Shave' too, Kuro."
"I see it", Kuro exhaled a plume of smoke toward Kai Shao. "Marine business?"
"Not quite", Kai Shao bowed slightly toward Kuro. "I've resigned for quite some time now, Admiral. I'm currently Captain Kai Shao of Morgant Kingdom's Royal Guard. Gentlemen, if you're looking for entertainment, this isn't the district. This is Morgant's private internal matter. The Navy has no jurisdiction here. If you insist on interfering, Prince of Pleasure will surely be displeased. Please return."
"His Highness the Prince of Pleasure?"
"Will the prince really be bothered?"
"Well then, we'll leave it be. After all, it's their internal affair."
Kuro and his companions showed no reaction, but the Navy men behind them started shifting uneasily.
It seemed like they believed simply having the Prince of Pleasure inconvenienced by their presence was a grave crime.
"Infected, huh?" Kuro narrowed his eyes. Ever since that stage play performance by the Prince of Pleasure, he'd suspected something.
"Oh? You're not under the prince's charm?"
Kai Shao's expression turned surprised. Normally, ordinary people couldn't resist the prince's ability, especially after the theater's enhancement. Just mentioning the prince's name should prevent anyone from wanting to trouble him.
Who would dare burden someone they admired?
In fact, if the prince desired, his devoted followers would willingly come to him.
That was the power of 'worship'.
Yet these three showed no reaction to the prince's name.
Kai Shao stared at them, then suddenly laughed.
"Strong will, I'll admit. In the past, I might have let former colleagues go. But this is a critical period—we can't afford any accidents. Please die here."
"Shave!"
Kai Shao vanished, striking toward Kuro with a 'Fishman Karate' blow.
They'd received the information the moment these men disembarked.
Lucius Kro, a mere Marine Headquarters Ensign vacationing in East Blue.
Just an Ensign—nobody worth noting.
To prevent issues, they'd even arranged for Siva to guide them through tourist routes. After all, as a Marine, they wanted to avoid trouble.
And before the prince's charm, how could such a low-ranking officer resist?
But now, hearing the prince's name without reaction—these three couldn't be spared.
Who knew what reports they'd submit? If some Headquarters officers noticed, things could become complicated.
Since Morgant hadn't joined the World Conference yet, they needed to proceed cautiously.
An Ensign's death meant little. The infected Marines could fabricate a shipwreck incident.
Those Marines would be happy to testify!
Kai Shao's face twisted with malice.
He charged forward with another Fishman Karate strike aimed at Kuro's forehead.
Kuro merely clicked the cigar between his teeth, making no move.
Lida shifted slightly but seemed to remember something, then resumed munching chips with interest.
Only Klah's expression darkened.
When Kai Shao mentioned the prince, his heart had trembled as if committing an unforgivable act. He'd nearly fled then and there.
But some rationality remained—he hadn't run away immediately.
Yet the image of the Prince of Pleasure lingered in his mind.
That prince truly seemed charismatic—capturing pirates to develop his nation, clearly possessing royal bearing.
This kingdom seemed joyful too, its citizens happily prospering under the prince's leadership.
Now that they opposed the prince, he shouldn't be involved in this.
Such a powerful, charismatic prince...
Wait—powerful?
Bang!
Kai Shao's charging body slammed backward by a whip kick straight to the face.
Klah kicked him away, his face darkening. "I was actually infected too? Damn Devil Fruit user!"
Powerful? What power could compare to this man before him, who looked like a lazy, apathetic sloth?
Thinking that cleared his mind.
"No way!" Kai Shao crashed against the wall, clutching his chest in shock. "How did you see through my speed? You're just Ensigns! I was once a Headquarters Major! I've mastered several Six Styles techniques!"
Refusing to believe it, Kai Shao prepared to attack again. Suddenly, the black-suited glasses man vanished. A blur of kicks and punches sent his guards collapsing, eyes rolling upward.
In the next instant, Kai Shao felt a sharp pain in his head before blacking out.
Klah adjusted his glasses calmly, disdainfully eyeing the fallen man. "You dare speak of Six Styles? Former Marine Major? Trash."
"Not bad", Lida nodded, then turned to the timid girl in the alley, offering his bag of chips. "Want some?"
The girl looked at the chips, swallowed reflexively, then fled deeper into the alley.
"Strange", Lida muttered. "Rarely do I share food."
Kuro raised an eyebrow. "You're actually sharing?"
Lida insisted, "That girl was starving—I could feel it. Hunger feels terrible. I've experienced it, so I don't want others to suffer."
"This from the guy who starved an entire town?" Kuro chuckled.
"Shut up! They could've left more food but were just too scared. If you hadn't interfered, I would've left more!" Lida stuck out his tongue.
"Let's follow her", Kuro suggested, peering into the dark alley. "Morgant's secrets might lie with that girl."
A royal guard captain resorting to killing troublemakers—what could be so important to justify murder?
