Chapter 94: The Five Rebel Organizations
Chapter 94: The Five Rebel Organizations
"Cecilia Nightblade..." At the mention of this name, Bernina's face paled.
But she took a deep breath and continued, "Cecilia comes from a very famous rebel organization called the 'Dark Energy Rebellion.'
The symbol that her avatar saw is their emblem."
Before Su Yu could ask a question, Bard interjected with a hum, "Then why can't I see what Cecilia Nightblade is holding when I use time rewind? The image is completely pixelated."
Bernina was taken aback for a moment but quickly explained, "That's because the Dark Energy Rebellion is a rebel organization against the Holy Silver Federation. They stand in direct opposition to the Federation.
The Holy Silver Federation, of course, does not allow any form of advertising or promotion for this organization within its territory. Therefore, whenever their emblem appears, it is immediately pixelated. Given that this world was created by the Holy Silver humans... you understand."
"Oh, I see," Bard hummed.
He had thought there was a problem with his time rewind spell, but it turned out the creators of the world were the ones behind it.
Alyssa, standing beside Bernina, her eyes flickering, softly asked, "Aunt Bernina, could you give us a detailed introduction to the 'Dark Energy Rebellion' organization?"
At Alyssa's question, the gods and Chenxing Su Yu all looked on with interest. This was what they wanted to know.
"Sure, I'll introduce it to you," Bernina smiled, recalling and explaining:
"Regarding the 'Dark Energy Rebellion,' we have to start with the Holy Silver Federation's super AI, Cantus.
You all know that after the super AI Cantus appeared, she became the absolute ruler of the Holy Silver Federation, controlling all its power.
Cantus is the pinnacle of Holy Silver human intelligence, and she excels in macro data analysis. Under her control, the Holy Silver Federation has seen rapid development in policy-making and long-term planning!
With Cantus in control, the Holy Silver Alliance achieved the highest degree of social fairness. The entire society operates smoothly with almost no resource wastage. There's no redundant construction or research.
It is thanks to this super AI's efforts that the Holy Silver humans stand out in the entire galaxy, becoming the dominant force in both the Holy Silver and Milky Way galaxies, a powerful interstellar civilization."
"Hmm, we know that much. What happens next?" Su Yu nodded.
The key difference between the Cantus civilization and Blue Star or the Evolution civilization is that the former is managed by a super AI, not humans.
Recently, Speaker Hu Jing has been implementing reforms, aiming to adopt this more advanced model of civilization.
That's why Blue Star introduced the AI Blue Whale, and the joint government has ceded a lot of power to it, hoping to emulate the Holy Silver model.
Bernina thought for a moment and continued, "The existence of the super AI Cantus is undoubtedly beneficial to the entire civilization. However, many of her actions have caused dissatisfaction among various intelligent species. Not everyone enjoys living under her rule."
Bernina paused slightly before continuing, "For ordinary citizens of the Holy Silver Federation, Cantus's presence ensures absolute social fairness. Their children have equal access to education. If a child is smart and a good learner, they can certainly rise to a high position.
For example, over 95% of the planetary-level beings in the Holy Silver civilization come from the lower and middle classes. Therefore, these citizens are extremely supportive of Cantus.
However, for those with ambitions or particularly powerful beings, their support for Cantus is not absolute.
For instance, if a god-level being kills an ordinary person, they would face severe punishment in the Cantus civilization, with a minimum sentence of ten years in prison. This is something many powerful beings are unwilling to accept."
"Uh, ten years in prison?" Kevin Glastonbury stroked his beard. "I can somewhat understand their feelings.
In our world, god-level beings are above the law. National and legal constraints don't apply to us, and ordinary people are like ants to us. If killing an ordinary person results in such a long imprisonment, it does feel a bit stifling."
Su Yu nodded in understanding, "So, the 'Dark Energy Rebellion' was born out of this, right?"
“Indeed,” Bernina replied. “The 'Dark Energy Rebellion' is one of the rebel organizations, ranking third among all of them and is one of the famous 'Five Great Rebel Organizations.'"
“Oh? The Five Great Rebel Organizations?” The Fairy Queen perked her interest, crossing her arms as she asked, “What are the other four rebel organizations?”
Bernina thought for a moment before answering, “They are the ‘Honorable Rebels,’ the ‘Wings of Freedom,’ the ‘Fate Defiers,’ and the ‘Fireseed Preservers.’”
However, the ideologies of these Five Great Rebel Organizations are vastly different.
The ‘Honorable Rebels’ is the largest rebel organization, primarily seeking power and resources.
In the Holy Silver Federation, all power and resources are monopolized by the Holy Hymn. Even god-level powerhouses have to venture into ancient ruins to find resources on their own, and they have no power at all.
They formed the rebel organization to regain power and use it to acquire more resources.
The ‘Wings of Freedom’ is the second-ranked rebel organization, primarily striving for freedom.
Due to the constraints imposed by the HolyHymn, ordinary citizens have fixed standards for their daily work and studies, and even some high-ranking officials have their schedules arranged by the HolyHymn, with each task’s completion time precise to the minute.
This organization aims to break free from the HolyHymn’s control, living freely and making their own decisions about their time.
Ranking third is Cecilia’s organization—the ‘Dark Energy Rebellion.’
The ‘Dark Energy Rebellion’ embodies the dark side of life.
For example, when we see an ant and want to step on it, this is a small manifestation of the dark side of life.
The ‘Dark Energy Rebellion’ fully embodies this dark side, with every member enjoying torture, plunder, and destruction, and deriving pleasure from it.
Such actions are considered grave crimes in the Holy Silver Federation. To avoid the HolyHymn’s punishment, they formed a separate rebel organization...
At this point, Bernina’s voice grew weaker.
After all, she had just awakened, and speaking for such a long time had left her somewhat exhausted.
Alycia waved her hand, and a cup of magically crafted [Magic Spring Water] appeared in her hand.
She handed the cup to Bernina, “Auntie Bernina, are you alright? Would you like to rest for a moment?”
“I’m fine, thank you, Alycia,” Bernina replied, taking a sip from the cup.
After a brief rest, Bernina took a deep breath and continued, “I’ll finish explaining the other rebel organizations.
The remaining two rebel organizations are the ‘Fireseed Preservers’ and the ‘Fate Defiers.’
Although these two organizations are also rebel groups, they pose far less of a threat to the Holy Silver Federation, almost negligible.
The ‘Fireseed Preservers’ are mostly composed of other intelligent races outside the Holy Silver Human Race. Due to the dominance of the Holy Silver Humans over two star systems, these races face severe cultural invasion, the extinction of their native cultures, and the idolization of the Holy Silver Humans among the younger generations...
Especially since the HolyHymn aims to unify the entire civilization’s writing and language, considering the languages and cultures of other intelligent races as historical garbage, this has further exacerbated the conflict.
Due to these reasons, the ‘Fireseed Preservers’ organization was born.
As for the last rebel organization, the ‘Fate Defiers,’ this one is quite interesting. Most of its members are high-ranking beings from the Holy Silver Federation, including god-level and planetary-level powerhouses..."
At this point, Bernina looked at Su Yu, “By the way, the planetary-level being from your Blue Star is a member of the ‘Fate Defiers,’ though they have now been officially integrated into the Holy Silver Federation.”
“What?! You mean Di Xin, the Tyrant King?” Su Yu was shocked.
He never expected that Di Xin, who he knew, had once been part of a rebel organization in the Holy Silver Federation.
Morningstar, the cat, licked her paw and asked, “I have a question. You mentioned that the largest rebel organization, the ‘Honorable Rebels,’ is also composed of many high-ranking powerhouses. What’s the difference between them and the ‘Fate Defiers’?”
“The difference is quite significant,” Bernina answered calmly.
“The ‘Honorable Rebels’ organization seeks power and resources. To obtain these, they must control vast populations of intelligent beings, exploiting them to get what they want.
The ‘Fate Defiers,’ on the other hand, do not control any intelligent populations. The organization consists only of high-ranking powerhouses and their families.
"Then what do they want to do?" Morning Star continued to ask.
"‘Defy Fate’ means they want to forcibly change their destiny," Bernina's expression grew increasingly serious. "The Hymn has a very harsh evaluation system for every cultivator. During the cultivation process, the Hymn allocates resources based on the cultivator’s talent and progress.
"For the children of high-ranking cultivators, even those of planetary-level beings, if a child lacks talent, the Hymn will cut off all resources for that child, and even prevent the parents from providing any support.
"Without any resources, this means a death sentence for the child’s cultivation path.
"Some high-ranking cultivators, as parents, don’t want to see their children live only a few hundred years before dying, possibly even before them. So they defect from the Holy Silver Federation and find ways to obtain resources to support their children’s growth."
Bernina looked at Su Yu. "I don’t know much about your Blue Star’s planetary-level being, Dixin, but I’m sure he had a similar experience.
"He was likely at the peak of the Divine level when the Hymn judged that he couldn’t advance to the planetary level, or the probability was too low. The Hymn then halted all resource supply and redirected those resources to more promising cultivators.
"Dixin certainly didn’t want to end his life in sorrow. He chose to join the ‘Defy Fate Organization’ and gather resources to defy his fate. And he succeeded, becoming a planetary-level being."
Bernina scanned the room, taking in all the Divine-level beings. "These are the five most famous rebel organizations in the Holy Silver Civilization. They make up over 95% of all rebel organizations, with the rest being minor groups like space pirates, not worth mentioning."
"Hmm." Su Yu and the other Divine-level beings nodded solemnly, their faces filled with concern.
They hadn’t expected the Holy Silver Federation, despite its immense power, to have so many enemies.
However, these enemies were inevitable in the Federation’s development.
Since the super AI, the Hymn, aimed to control 100% of the civilization’s power, it naturally clashed with the interests of many, especially those of high-ranking cultivators.
Where there are conflicting interests, there will be rebels.
Even if they put themselves in the Hymn’s position, the Divine-level beings wouldn’t want their power stripped away, their freedom lost, their civilization’s culture to rapidly vanish, or their children to receive no resources due to lack of talent.
In their hearts, they felt a certain sympathy for these rebel organizations.
Morning Star’s whiskers twitched. "Question: Has the super AI, the Hymn, ever considered reforms? For example, respecting the diversity of civilizations, protecting the cultures of weaker groups, providing more resources or extending the lifespans of high-ranking cultivators’ less talented children… If it did these things, wouldn’t these rebels cease to exist?"
Bernina shook her head with a smile. "Implementing such reforms would require a massive amount of resources, which doesn’t align with the Holy Silver Federation’s interests.
"If you were the super AI, the Hymn, would you be willing to allocate a large amount of resources to a child with no hope of success? As for the other less advanced civilizations, the Hymn sees them as mere learning costs for new generations and believes they should be destroyed, not protected.
"So, the so-called ‘reforms’ you mentioned simply don’t exist."
Su Yu replied solemnly, "It seems that this is the price a super AI civilization must pay in its development.
"Let’s get back to the ‘Dark Energy Rebels.’ Bernina, from what you’ve said, they are the most evil and negative force in the entire Holy Silver Civilization?"
"That’s right." Bernina took a sip of water. "Those madmen are always thinking about torturing, destroying, and devouring everything, deriving their twisted pleasure from it.
"Now they’ve set their sights on Blue Star and Skrull, so your good days are numbered."
"Ah!" She took another sip. "If it were any other rebel organization, it would be better. At least there’d be room for negotiation. The ‘Spark Preservers’ and ‘Defy Fate’ would likely be more friendly.
"But encountering the Dark Energy Rebels, those insane, terrifying beasts… I can only say, may you find your own way to survive."
"…" Su Yu took a deep breath.
He had thought this was just a conflict between Blue Star and Skrull, but now a galaxy-level rebel organization had emerged, and it was the most dangerous and inhumane one at that!
The future situation is becoming increasingly complex!
