Chapter 936: The Hidden Library
Chapter 936: The Hidden Library
September 25th, 2017
Beifeng, the Training Grounds.
Lu Hai Kong's habit remained unchanged, whether it was opening treasure chests or claiming rewards; he always saved the best for last.
Speaking of habits, this might not be a good one, as in many novels and dramas, there are numerous villains who meet their end due to such 'good' habits.
Fortunately, Lu Hai Kong only had a peculiar interest in claiming rewards.
Glancing at the Mysterious Door, Lu Hai Kong brought up the reward interface and claimed the three rewards for the [Alliance with Lords] quest.
[You have claimed the Alliance with Lords quest reward, you obtained a special building [Wolf Den] x1.]
[You have claimed the Alliance with Lords quest reward, you obtained a special building [Sky Prison] x1.]
[You have claimed the Alliance with Lords quest reward, you obtained a special reward [Hidden Library] x1.]
Three system prompts sounded, and upon hearing the content of the prompts, Lu Hai Kong's eyes widened slightly, as this was not the first time he had been surprised while claiming rewards. But this time, his surprise lasted a little longer.
It was normal for Lu Hai Kong to be surprised, as he had not encountered new buildings in a while, and now he had stumbled upon three of them at once.
However, Lu Hai Kong had seen bigger surprises, and he quickly calmed down. Buildings were just buildings; as long as their attributes were good, he was fine with anything.
With this thought, Lu Hai Kong casually checked the attributes of the three buildings.
Wolf Den
Building Type: Special Building
Building Level: Legendary
Building Effect: Able to transform ordinary wolf cubs into exotic beasts.
Ps: Transformation requires a certain amount of money.
Legendary Level Effect: There is a one in a hundred thousand chance to transform into a divine beast with a divine talent, a one in a thousand chance to transform into a top-tier talent, and a one in a hundred chance to transform into a high-tier talent.
Upon seeing the attributes of these buildings, Lu Hai Kong's eyes lit up, as he had always envisioned creating an exotic beast legion, and he was already making progress towards this vision using certain items.
In fact, through the use of [Wolf Shepherd] and [Wolf Spirit], Lu Hai Kong had already formed an exotic beast legion in the outer grasslands.
However, this exotic beast legion was still small in scale, with only around a hundred exotic beasts, most of which were low-tier talents, and only one was a mid-tier talent.
In terms of combat power, these hundred exotic beasts might not be considered very strong, but they still had their uses. For example, they could be used for herding, delivering intelligence, leveling up, or intimidating the Xianbei and Wuhuan tribes that Lu Hai Kong had colonized in the outer cities.
Well, to be honest, these exotic beasts were not very useful in battles, which left Lu Hai Kong slightly disappointed. After all, he had spent over a thousand gold for this exotic beast legion, and now it seemed like he might have been at a loss. He wondered if the appearance of this [Wolf Den] would change the current situation.
Lu Hai Kong's eyes shone with determination, and he directly chose to place this [Wolf Den] behind the pasture in the rear of the Yan-Huang City, as he could still remotely control the construction of system rewards without any issues.
Then, Lu Hai Kong turned his attention to the remaining two buildings.
The Celestial Prison
Building Type: Penal/Territorial
Building Level: Legendary
Building Description: A unique penal structure, the Celestial Prison is equipped with a formidable prison warden possessing a strength of 100, and ten prison guards with a strength of 90. It is an impenetrable fortress, equipped with specialized tools, ensuring that prisoners have no chance of escape.
Legendary Building Trait: All prisoners entering the Celestial Prison will have their powers sealed, except for their physical strength.
Mojia Library
Building Type: Special
Level: None
Description: This is a special building dedicated to the Carpenter profession. Every Carpenter who enters the Mojia Library has a chance to obtain the Mojia heritage.
Entry Requirement: Advanced Carpenter (once a month)
---
Both buildings have interesting attributes, but Lu HaiKong primarily focuses on the following:
Mojia Library
It is evident that this building's value is significantly greater than that of the Celestial Prison. The appearance of the Mojia Library can substantially enhance Lu HaiKong's Carpenter skills.
The Carpenter profession, in terms of both military and civilian applications, can contribute greatly to Lu HaiKong's overall strength. The value of improving the Carpenter's skills is immense, essentially boosting Lu HaiKong's military and civilian capabilities.
In contrast, the value of the Celestial Prison is not as significant.
While the Celestial Prison's configuration is indeed impressive, with even a strength 100 entity present, it remains just a place to detain prisoners. Those prisoners must never escape the Celestial Prison.
The value of this building cannot be compared to the Mojia Library, but this does not imply that the Celestial Prison is useless. It still holds its own value.
Aside from other considerations, if Lu HaiKong captures top-tier historical generals in the future, the Celestial Prison's purpose becomes evident. There will be no need to mobilize an army to guard these generals, as was the case with Yan Liang.
The appearance of the Celestial Prison also serves another purpose: to suppress the Yi people.
Lu HaiKong's Beifeng City has a dedicated Yi people trading market, resulting in a significant Yi population. Despite Lu HaiKong's efforts in managing the Yi people, incidents still occur from time to time.
Some more severe cases warrant immediate execution, but for minor issues, Lu HaiKong has not had an effective punishment method.
Simply expelling them is too lenient, but keeping them detained is costly. This situation has consistently troubled Lu HaiKong, Zhang Dao, and Luo Luo. Now, with the Celestial Prison, they can directly imprison offenders and detain them for several months, effectively suppressing any unrest.
After considering the attributes of both buildings, Lu HaiKong decides to place the Celestial Prison in Beifeng and the Mojia Library in Yanhuang. With this decision, Lu HaiKong concludes this trip to Luoyang and returns to the lord's mansion...
