Chapter 934: The War Has Already Begun!
Chapter 934: The War Has Already Begun!
In Grindelwald's inciting voice, the Wizards present were riled up, like a barrel of gunpowder about to explode. Ivan had no doubt that if Grindelwald gave the order, these five hundred Wizards would immediately rush out into the streets to massacre Muggles, creating a horrific tragedy.
However, at that moment, a shrill scream suddenly rang out in the Great Hall.
"Lies!"
Ivan turned his head in surprise, wanting to see which Champion dared to interrupt Grindelwald's speech at such a time. Did they not fear being killed on the spot?
To Ivan's surprise, it was an elderly Witch who spoke. She stood trembling under the furious gazes of the Death Eaters, but she mustered the courage to speak out.
"That's a complete lie! What evidence do you have to prove that the scene you described is the future of the Wizarding World? I lived through the last Wizarding War and witnessed how you murdered just and righteous Wizards, and how you incited your followers to torture and kill Muggles..."
"This Witch is named Barbara. According to our investigation, her son died in the last Wizarding War..." Cornell whispered to Ivan, explaining her background.
Ivan nodded, understanding her bravery. She must have seen her enemy and thrown caution to the wind.
Driven by the pain of losing her son, Barbara stood firm against the Death Eaters' malicious glares, using the harshest words to condemn Grindelwald's actions from fifty years ago. She then turned to the crowd and loudly declared:
"The demon before you once went so far as to try to destroy an entire city and kill millions of people! The Wizards who died at his hands are countless. Don't be fooled by him; he only wants to trick us into helping him rule the world!"
The Wizards in the Great Hall were shaken and looked at Grindelwald on the stage. However, his reaction was unexpected. He did not kill Barbara with a Killing Curse or hastily try to defend himself. Instead, he waited for her to finish and then spoke calmly.
"I think you've misunderstood, madam. The one who first provoked the war and brought death and misfortune was not me, never me!"
Barbara instinctively wanted to challenge him, but Grindelwald raised his voice and continued, "You must have all read yesterday's European Times. Three days ago, a Warlock in Paris used an Explosion Charm to kill dozens of Muggles."
"Undoubtedly, this was a tragedy, but I do not feel any sorrow for the Muggles who died. On the contrary, I only think that not enough of them died, and not quickly enough!"
Grindelwald's cold words made some of the Wizards frown. Many of them, while they despised Muggles, did not celebrate such a tragedy.
Seemingly aware of their thoughts, Grindelwald sneered and said, "I suspect you haven't seen the Warlock's appearance, nor do you know that the street had a secret laboratory beneath it!"
"That poor Warlock was tricked by a group of Muggles into giving up his wand and was imprisoned deep underground. Cruel researchers used syringes to draw his blood, and knives to cut open his brain, performing unimaginable human experiments on his body, all to steal the unique Magic of Wizards..."
As Grindelwald spoke, threads of memory began to emerge from the Elder Wand, revealing scenes that enraged the wizards present. Many witches nearly vomited at the sight of the extreme experiments.
Grindelwald then began to explain how he had accidentally discovered the laboratory and how he managed to rescue the unfortunate warlock.
"Unfortunately, I arrived too late. The poor warlock had been driven nearly mad by the torturous experiments. All I could do was return his wand to him, allowing him to take his revenge!" Grindelwald declared.
"Good kill, exterminate those disgusting Muggles!" a Death Eater shouted viciously.
"Where were the Ministry of Magic's Aurors? Why didn't they come forward to save this poor man?" another witch, covering her mouth, asked in sorrow.
"Why is there a Muggle Protection Act but no protection for wizards?"
Angry shouts echoed throughout the room, and even Barbara, who had previously condemned Grindelwald, was left speechless.
Ivan turned to Cornell and sighed, asking, "Is the story about the warlock true?"
"Based on the investigation by our Aurors, there are many doubts about this", Cornell hurriedly explained.
"But it's true that Muggles have institutions that imprison wizards for experiments, isn't it?" Ivan didn't believe that the entire story was fabricated by Grindelwald. The other man might have hidden some details, but he wouldn't be foolish enough to lie about something entirely false.
Moreover, from what Ivan knew, Muggle authorities were capable of such atrocities.
"Indeed, the International Confederation of Wizards has been trying to prevent such occurrences, but some areas are beyond our jurisdiction", Cornell responded sheepishly.
Ivan glanced at him but said nothing more, his gaze returning to the stage.
"The war has already begun, my friends. Muggles fear and envy the power we wizards possess, and they seek to steal the magical wonders that belong only to us through cruel human experiments", Grindelwald's eyes swept over the crowd. "They imprison our brethren, bind them to experiment tables, and torture them to death... just as they burned wizards at the stake in the 15th century!"<|im_end|>
"This time, wizards have no choice. We have already relinquished control of the world, and if Muggles succeed, every one of our kind will face the same fate as that poor man."
"Now, I implore you to spread my words to your loved ones, to unite the clear-minded wizards who have not been deceived by the Ministry of Magic, and invite them to join us."
"Of course, I also urge you all to remember that Muggles are our true enemies. Wizards should not repeat past mistakes by pointing wands at our own kind, and we do not need a civil war!" Grindelwald declared loudly.
As Grindelwald spoke, the magical barrier over the Great Hall slowly descended. The wizards trapped inside the Great Hall began to wave their wands, preparing to Apparate, not to flee, but to spread Grindelwald's message...
