Chapter 93: The 'Patient's' Performance
Chapter 93: The 'Patient's' Performance
Night had fallen.
Jing He and his family of three were huddled together, but they weren't watching a movie on the ice-sand. Instead, they were surrounding a Pokemon Egg.
To be fair, this Pokemon Egg had been in their hands for quite some time now, even longer than the Ice Vulpix had been under control.
Ghastship, having donned a pair of dark glasses, gently called out to the little Vulpix.
"Chaa~~(_)"
"Vulpix, you really need to behave yourself. You still need to be disciplined."
The Ice Vulpix tilted its head to one side.
"Ow?"
Third? First?
Ghastship's mouth curled into a grin, and it patted its chest, indicating that Ren wouldn't let it be.
The Ice Vulpix nodded, showing agreement.
"Ow?"
Who is the second? Ghastship wiggled its fingers.
"Chaa~~"
It wasn't just it.
But before it could point out who, Jing He saw its face clearly:
"If you dare to point at me, I'll challenge Cressina's Sharpedomorrow."
"Chaa~~"
It shivered, knowing that such a joke could be fatal.
The Ice Vulpix rolled on the ground, this time, it was indeed more lively, though seeing strangers still made it timid and shy, but much better than before.
"O w!"
Suddenly.
The little Vulpix flipped and sat up, its ears twitching, as if it heard something.
It slowly approached the Pokemon egg, pressing its ears against it.
Ghastship and Jing He also paused, leaning down to get closer to the Pokemon Egg.
Doubt, doubt—
Faintly.
As if they could hear a slight tapping sound coming from the egg.
"Chaa?" Ghastship pressed its voice.
Is it about to hatch?
But soon, the movement quieted down.
"Chaa, chaa?"
It won't suffocate, right?
Jing He hurriedly stopped Ghastship, who was about to poke the egg, and said with a calm voice:
"Just moving around, it's not time to hatch yet."
He handed the Pokemon egg to a Zebstrika, who didn't say what a Bagon, but DevCorp had a complete Bagon breeding chain, so this Pokemon Egg incubator is still quite advanced."
Though it can't show the exact hatching time, there is a rough progress bar.
From the progress bar, it seemed it might be in the next two days.
"Alright, let's rest. We have things to do tomorrow."
Jing He placed the Pokemon Egg carefully.
Hoping the Bagon wouldn't be skewed by Ghastship.
The next morning.
Jing He was woken awake by a small rumble.
Scared, the Ice Vulpix, who had been sleeping in his arms, suddenly burrowed into the nest, the coolness waking Jing He instantly awake.
He lifted his eyes.
He saw Ghastship smirking and hiding something.
Knowing Ghastship quite well, Jing He clearly indicated it to move away.
Reluctantly, Ghastship slowly floated away, revealing a large hole in the sofa.
"Chaa!"
"You listen to my arguments!"
Before Jing He could open his mouth, Ghastship hurriedly said.
As it spoke, its expression immediately became serious, and it slowly raised one of its claws, revealing a black, spherical object gradually forming in its hand.
Shadow Ball?
Seeing that dark, spherical object emitting a sinister aura, Jing He froze.
So quickly, it learned it?
The little Vulpix also poked its head out from the nest, watching Ghastship's demonstration.
The next second.
The black, spherical object in Ghastship's hand, which had been stable, suddenly began to wobble, expand, and contract, becoming uncontrollable.
Seeing the status, Jing He and the little Vulpix's faces changed.
"A Shadow Ball" exploding in the room would be a big problem.
Who knew.
Ghastship's eyes widened, and it quickly, "Ow!"
A muffled sound emitted from its body.
Meanwhile, Ghastship's body also suddenly expanded, breaking open a large hole on the other side of the sofa, with faint signs of corrosion.
"Chaa~~"
Ghastship grinned, revealing black teeth, and a wisp of black smoke floated out of its mouth.
Jing He & Gastly:
"Are you okay?"
Jing He asked cautiously.
Ghost-type moves are super effective against Ghost-type Pokemon, after all!
He wasn't sure what effect his own Ghost-type moves would have on himself, or what the partially formed "Shadow Ball" would do.
Gastly once again brought up a blind spot in Jing He's knowledge, making him, a seasoned Pokemon enthusiast and Pokemon psychology mentor, doubt his expertise.
It felt like his Pokemon were becoming increasingly unreasonable.
"Keke keke~~"
Gastly waved its hands, indicating it was fine.
Jing He shook his head, got up, and prepared to wash up, warning:
"Be careful, don't overdo it."
"Keke keke!"
"Ow?"
Sixtail tilted its head, feeling like something was missing.
Then it dawned on it.
Oh~~ the sofa!
Gastly wasn't scolded.
After Jing He went to the bathroom to wash up, Gastly's eyes suddenly filled with bloodshot, and it rubbed its chest, gasping for breath, which scared Sixtail.
Aren't you dying?
Suddenly, Sixtail perked up its ears, hearing the Pokemon Egg making a "tap tap tap" sound.
It seemed pretty happy?
Afternoon.
Dai's Estate.
Jing He crouched down.
In front of him was the sleeping Geodude.
With Gastly's and Geodude's cooperation, hypnotizing it didn't take much effort.
However, compared to when Jing He first met it, the small and large greenish spots on Geodude's body had dimmed, but its overall aura seemed more vibrant.
Snap!
He snapped his fingers lightly.
Hiss crack
Geodude slowly woke up.
When it saw Jing He's gentle smile, its face instantly flushed red.
"How are you feeling?"
Cynthia walked over, concerned.
They had originally planned to wait until Saffron City to find someone to help with Geodude's problem. But since they met Dian yesterday, and with the assistance of Shizuka, Dai, and Cynthia's Pokemon, they decided to gather today at Dai's estate.
"A lot better."
Jing He gently touched the energy mass Geodude had formed.
"Two more sessions, and it should be fine."
Hiss crack~~o(////▽////)q
"That's good." Cynthia sighed in relief, patting her chest.
She had been very worried about Geodude.
On the other side.
Dai, Dian, and Shizuka were gathered around an ancient, weathered stone tablet.
This was the other matter for today.
Jing He had asked Cynthia to decipher the content on the tablet. After researching and with the help of her grandmother, Professor Kusunagi, Cynthia had managed to decipher some of it.
While he wasn't entirely sure before, when he saw the mention of "Lapras" in the deciphered content, he was almost certain.
This tablet was indeed the "Bulletin Tablet"!
The tablet related to the legendary Three Pillars' resting place!
However, he didn't say anything.
On one hand, there was no concrete evidence or documentation to support it.
On the other, Dai and Dian's eager expressions made him "afraid."
If they prematurely awakened the Three Pillars, who knew what unpredictable events might occur?
Watching the group's attention shift to battling, Jing He breathed a sigh of relief.
Wait!
His expression became increasingly strange.
Dian, Dai, and Cynthia
were all participants in the "Youth Performance Competition" in Saffron City.
It felt like
the "Youth Performance Competition" in Saffron City was turning into a "Patient Performance Competition" for him.
Ding—Ding—
His phone rang.
