Chapter 924: Human Bone Wand
Chapter 924: Human Bone Wand
The creation of the new wand took longer than Ivan had anticipated. For three consecutive days, Ollivander locked himself in the Alchemy Room, foregoing food and sleep, relying solely on Strengthening Potions to keep going.
The operation of the Wand Shop was completely neglected. Even during the peak period when First-years came to purchase wands, Ollivander put up a sign to temporarily close the shop, rescheduling all wand purchases to the day before the start of the school year.
If Ivan and Pierce hadn't informed the Ministry of Magic, they would have assumed Ollivander had been kidnapped by someone.
It wasn't until the morning of the fourth day that a series of loud crackling sounds came from the tightly closed Alchemy Room. Ivan, who had just woken up and was about to have breakfast, was startled. Before he could go in to check, a disheveled Ollivander emerged from the Alchemy Room.
"What happened, Mr. Ollivander?" Ivan quickly asked.
Having neglected his appearance for nearly half a month, Ollivander looked like a long-wandering scavenger, but his expression was incredibly excited.
"Quick, try it out!" Ollivander didn't have time to explain, immediately thrusting a grayish-white wand into Ivan's hand, eagerly urging him to test it.
Ivan instinctively looked down. The wand was about thirteen inches long, entirely grayish-white, and felt hard and solid. When he held it, Ivan had a strange sensation that his arm had been extended.
Under Ollivander's persistent urging, Ivan waved the wand lightly toward the target. "Reducto!"
A blinding beam of light shot out from the wand, striking the human-shaped target and exploding in a burst of intense light. The target was instantly torn to pieces, and a large hole appeared in the wall behind it, revealing the living room.
The sheer power of the spell left Ivan pleasantly surprised. He hadn't used much magic when casting, yet the effect was almost as powerful as when he was using the Philosopher's Stone to enhance his abilities.
However, seeing the mess around him, Ivan felt a bit embarrassed and quickly used Reparo to restore the room to its original state.
"Sorry, I damaged your house, Mr. Ollivander", Ivan said apologetically.
But Ollivander didn't seem to mind at all; he looked even more excited than Ivan. "I knew it, I knew it would work! I succeeded, I really succeeded!"
"What happened? Didn't you test it yourself?" Ivan asked, puzzled.
"Of course I did, but I couldn't control this wand at all", Ollivander sighed. When the wand was completed, he had tried it himself, but it wouldn't respond to his commands.
At first, Ollivander thought the wand-making had failed, but upon closer reflection, he realized his own abilities were insufficient to wield such a powerful wand. That's why he urgently sought Ivan to verify his theory.
"It might be that the wand is bonded to a specific person", Ivan shrugged, suggesting casually.
"You're right. Wands choose their masters. Since it's made from your body tissue, it naturally only listens to you", Ollivander sighed. He had hoped this powerful wand could be mass-produced, at least to make one for himself.
While chatting with Ollivander, Ivan didn't forget to open the System Bar to check the wand's attributes.
Magic Item: Human Bone Wand
Magic: Extremely Strong
Runic Circuit: Enhanced Casting (Significantly increases the power of magic)
Attribute: Transformation (Allows the caster to transform the wand's shape through Will)
Compatibility: 100%
Description: This is the pinnacle creation of Britain's wandmaster Ollivander, crafted from your bone, blood, and hair. Only a highly skilled Caster can master it.
"Enhanced Casting... Transformation..." Ivan murmured to himself. The first attribute was straightforward, simply boosting the power of spells, which needed no further explanation.
But the Transformation attribute caught Ivan off guard. He had never seen this on any other wand before.
Was it because of the Boggart bloodline?
Ivan focused his thoughts and, following the System Description, channeled a small amount of magic into the wand, then visualized changing its form in his mind.
In the next moment, the grayish-white wand transformed according to Ivan's will, turning into a long walking stick.
"What is this? Did you use Transfiguration on the wand?" Ollivander asked in surprise. He knew that altering the shape of a wand, such a precise magical item, was extremely difficult.
"No, it's an inherent ability of this wand", Ivan shook his head and continued experimenting, transforming the wand into various shapes. However, it failed when he tried to transform it into a creature.
It seemed the wand had only inherited a small part of the Boggart's abilities.
Ollivander watched the scene with amazement. This wand held too many secrets, even for its maker.
"Thank you, Mr. Ollivander. I am very satisfied with this wand. Let's discuss the payment now", Ivan put the Human Bone Wand away and looked at Ollivander generously. "As long as it's reasonable, you can name your price!"
"There's no need for that. Being able to create the strongest wand is reward enough for me!" Ollivander shook his head, reflecting on his status as one of the three great wandmakers in Europe. There were few things in the Wizarding World he couldn't obtain.
"Of course, if you don't mind, could you leave me some of your hair and blood for research?" Ollivander asked hopefully.
"Out of the question!" Ivan firmly refused, his face darkening. A wizard's hair and blood were crucial materials for Dark Magic curses. He had used some of his own blood and flesh to trick Voldemort before.
While Ollivander was unlikely to use them for such purposes, there was always the risk of Grindelwald getting his hands on them, which would be problematic.
"Here, one hundred thousand Galleons as your payment!" Ivan said generously, then took a potion from his robes and placed it on the table. "And this as well!"
"O... one hundred thousand Galleons?" Ollivander was momentarily stunned, almost thinking he had misheard. While he wasn't short of money, one hundred thousand Galleons was no small sum!
"I believe the cost of creating this wand is worth this much, and it includes a confidentiality fee. Do you understand?" Ivan said seriously.
After paying such a large sum, he would not tolerate any information about the new wand leaking from Ollivander.
