Chapter 924: Do You Think This Old Man's a Juggler?!
Chapter 924: Do You Think This Old Man's a Juggler?!
Fighting someone like Marshall D. Teach required tossing techniques aside and going straight for brute force. Only a pure strength showdown could match him head-on.
The Golden Straight came crashing down, cleaving from Marshall D. Teach's head to his abdomen in one devastating slash.
Hiss!!
Gouts of blood erupted from Marshall D. Teach's torso, splattering onto Kuro.
Marshall D. Teach howled in pain, clutching his body as he rolled on the ground, "It hurts! This old man's gonna die from the pain!!"
"Why haven't I seen you die from pain yet, you bastard!" Kuro spat, gripping his blade as he raised his hand. Seaspray Rain descended from the heavens.
The Dark-Dark Fruit was a monster. As long as he could withstand the damage, his physical constitution could absorb all physical attacks - even harsher than elementalization.
Elementalization at least allowed damaging physical entities. This was different - damage meant nothing.
But incapacitating Marshall D. Teach might work better.
If executed properly, Kuro could just toss him into the sea!
Yet as the Seaspray Rain fell, Marshall D. Teach raised his hand, darkness swirling into a vortex that devoured the descending seawater.
"Tch!" Kuro clicked his tongue, his blade crackling with golden electric sparks as it slashed forward.
Bang!
Suddenly, a gunshot rang out.
Kuro instinctively redirected his strike, deflecting a bullet mid-air.
It was Van Augur, now aiming at Kuro.
What the hell?
Kuro glanced sideways. Ju Geng gritted her teeth, her face flushed, body swaying unsteadily.
Opposite her sat Poison Q atop a trembling colossal horse, looking half-dead himself.
Switching fighters?
Calling in reinforcements?
Poison Q slumped atop the massive steed, trembling himself, but when he lifted his head, an eerie grin stretched across his face. "Fate often measures one's worth. Yours still remains."
Beside Ju Geng lay scattered apples, amplifying her vulnerability.
She nocked an arrow, aiming at Poison Q, and barely loosed a shot. The weak projectile barely left the bow before the horse's trembling yet swift dodging evaded it effortlessly.
"Come now, let me continue reading your fate."
Poison Q retrieved an apple from his satchel and hurled it toward Ju Geng.
Ju Geng's pupils contracted. She nocked another arrow, shooting at the slowly floating apple.
Boom!!
The arrow struck mid-air, triggering a massive explosion that sent a shockwave rippling outward, rolling Ju Geng backward.
"Ca...can't use any strength."
Ju Geng tumbled, struggling to rise halfway as she gasped, "Head's spinning too...could it be poison?"
"Oh? Fate's choice for you was a neurotoxin, huh? Too bad you didn't receive the explosive fate this time."
Poison Q chuckled, retrieving another apple and launching it toward Ju Geng.
"Now then, what does this apple's fate hold?"
Meanwhile, Van Augur's failed shot at Kuro revealed an opening. He aimed his rifle at Ju Geng, ready to fire.
Kuro instinctively moved to intercept, but Marshall D. Teach seized this brief window to recover slightly. He threw a punch toward Kuro.
Boom!!
A shockwave erupted through the air, sinking G-3's fortress deeper. Kuro staggered, and Van Augur pulled the trigger - the bullet speeding toward Ju Geng.
"Eh? Eh!"
Coincidentally, a red-nosed clown in a harlequin costume dropped from somewhere, flailing helplessly mid-air.
Buggy had actually been hiding.
The moment the battle began, he'd fled inside the fortress, observing the fight through a window.
The intensity was too overwhelming for him to join.
But now, the sudden shockwave collapsed the structure where he stood. He tumbled downward, propelled by instinct.
"Why does this always happen to me!"
Buggy screamed mid-air, catching movement from the corner of his eye. He instinctively flicked his foot forward.
"Buggy Ball!"
Boom!!
Delicate red bullets collided with Van Augur's incoming projectile, detonating a massive explosion that created a mushroom cloud in the sky.
"Eh? What was that?" Buggy sniffled, eyes wide with confusion.
Suddenly, an apple descended through the dust cloud. Buggy caught it reflexively, blinking in surprise. "Apple?"
"Oh? Fate's favor?"
Poison Q chuckled, retrieving another apple from his shoulder bag and hurling it with pinpoint accuracy. "Now then, what about this one?"
Buggy caught the second apple, eyeing it suspiciously as he called down to Poison Q. "This is just an apple, right?"
He even opened his mouth and took a bite, chewing thoughtfully. "Yep, definitely an apple."
"And this one?"
Poison Q tossed yet another apple.
Hmm, no effect.
Keep throwing.
Still nothing.
One by one, Buggy caught the incoming apples, arms flailing until he began juggling them in perfect elliptical patterns.
"Hehe! This old man's awesome, huh?"
Grinning at his flawless apple juggling, Buggy's smile quickly faded.
"Wait a minute! Do you think this old man's some circus juggler?!"
Buggy roared at Poison Q, hurling all the apples away before drawing a dagger and launching it with pinpoint accuracy.
"Has fate favored you this much?"
Poison Q murmured without dodging. A bullet struck the dagger mid-flight.
Van Augur's shot deflected the blade, and he immediately realigned his sights on Buggy.
"Run, run!"
Buggy bolted, legs churning as he sprinted away.
Bang!
The gunshot cracked.
"Candle Wall!"
From behind, Mr.3 melted into candle wax, raising a protective wall that perfectly intercepted the bullet.
"Fate..."
Poison Q seemed dissatisfied, tossing another apple.
A gloved hand caught it.
"Huh?"
Though wearing gloves, the slender fingers were unmistakable. The owner wore a long robe accentuating their figure, particularly emphasizing the chest with flowing fabric, cloaked in navy hooded cloak. They examined the apple curiously.
"Toxin? Strange apple."
The elegantly featured woman studied the apple, curious. "What's inside this construction?"
"Fen Ni!"
Ju Geng called urgently, "You shouldn't be here! Retreat! These apples cause weakness!"
"A Ju Geng, my lab collapsed from the shockwaves. I barely escaped!"
Fen Ni shuddered with relief, eyes widening as she approached Ju Geng.
"Ju Geng, you seem poisoned. Wait a moment."
She removed her glove, grasping Ju Geng's hand.
"Plague Absorption."
Ju Geng shuddered as the dizzying weakness vanished instantly. She pulled Fen Ni behind her, swiftly nocking an arrow and firing. The incoming bullet exploded mid-air.
"Alright, Fen Ni. Thank you."
Ju Geng fixed her cold gaze on Van Augur. "Continue, Despicable Villain!"
Van Augur sighed, rifle raised. "Everything's fate's choice."
