Chapter 92: The Duel of True Immortals
Chapter 92: The Duel of True Immortals
Suspended in the heavens, the [Yanmo Hall] cast its shadow over Skull Mountain’s eight hundred li, summoning howling yin winds and wails of despair that transformed the land into a ghostly realm.
The Heaven-Mending Peak Sect Leader stood amidst the chaos, his face darkened to an extreme.
“Is this all you have to kill me?” he scoffed, nearly laughing through his rage. Whether or not Lv Yang was truly the reincarnation of a Holy Sect True Immortal, underestimating him so gravely was unforgivable.
Yet Lv Yang remained composed. Within his dantian, the guardian deity Su Nu sweated profusely, channeling her full realm’s power into him. His form radiated solemn divinity, as if he had become the axis of Skull Mountain’s eight hundred li of heaven and earth.
“Let’s test it. I’ve long wished to witness your legendary arts.”
The sect leader studied him, then nodded. “Very well. Let me see which of my old peers you truly are.”
He had already concluded Lv Yang’s identity—undoubtedly the reincarnation of a Holy Sect True Immortal. Yet he withheld the accusation. Holy Sect True Immortals all bore heavy karmic debts: enemies, enemies, and more enemies. Reincarnation was a rare chance to shed past sins. Who would willingly invite old grudges?
As he spoke, the sect leader scooped a handful of earth, infused it with spiritual energy, and scattered it. The soil took root, rapidly coalescing into a clay effigy of himself. His soul merged with it, forming a temporary vessel.
“A mere earthen body, but it will suffice,” he muttered, his voice gravelly as pebbles fell from his lips. Yet his soul now had a fragile refuge.
*
Boom!
As the sect leader fortified his clay form, Lv Yang acted. From the [Yanmo Hall], spectral war cries erupted. A legion of Soulbound Wraiths materialized behind him—armored, weaponized, their faces twisted into jade-green demons. They surged forward in perfect formation, a tide of death commanded by Lv Yang’s will.
“Phantoms dare assail my dharma body?” the sect leader sneered. A radiant scroll unfurled above his head, dividing yin and yang, emitting twin auroras of light and shadow.
This was his “Yin-Yang Grand Dao Scroll”—his ultimate foundation. One side, Absolute Yin; the other, Radiant Yang. It could unravel, absorb, and repurpose any technique.
The scroll’s Absolute Yin face flared. The [Yanmo Hall]’s innate yin-slaying power, combined with the wraiths’ nature, made them perfect prey for this side. The horde dissolved like mist.
Then the scroll flipped.
Radiant Yang blazed forth, a celestial fire consuming all wraiths in its path. Yet streaks of pitch-black lightning—Nine Heavens Supreme Demon Yin Thunder—pierced the scroll. The sect leader grunted in pain, his clay body cracking.
“A clever reversal,” he admitted grimly. Though Lv Yang’s injuries ran deeper, he himself bore fresh wounds.
At the Foundation Building stage, battles were wars of Dao Foundations—manifestations of one’s spiritual core. Each clash was an army of infinite techniques, where victory went to the strategist.
Lv Yang’s Dao was fresh, his [Yanmo Hall] at its peak—a force of ten thousand strong. The sect leader’s fractured soul, however, commanded but a thousand.
*
Boom!
The [Yanmo Hall] spat forth endless wraiths, their resurgence shaking the skies. The sect leader’s clay form splintered further.
“Do you seek mutual ruin?” he barked, unnerved by Lv Yang’s unscathed appearance.
In truth, Su Nu bore the brunt, her body riddled with cracks. Lv Yang, however, remained aloof.
So long as she isn’t dead, she can still fight.
With ruthless efficiency, he drained Su Nu’s power. Let her shatter—better her than himself.
The sect leader’s patience snapped. This “young immortal” fought like a madman, heedless of self-destruction.
“No more delays!”
His Yin-Yang Grand Dao Scroll collapsed inward, fusing its dual aspects into a single, blinding void. The light expanded—a Supreme Divine Art, the Yin-Yang Chaos Primordial Radiance. It incinerated everything: wraiths, thunder, even the [Yanmo Hall]’s very structure.
*
As the void cleared, the sect leader soared upward—only to freeze.
Outside the [Yanmo Hall], a second Lv Yang emerged. Su Nu was absent.
“Two bodies! A manifestation outside one’s core? You’ve forged a Foundation-Building-stage avatar!”
Lv Yang answered by raising a single finger.
A technique taught by the Yanluo Patriarch.
His aura surged—ascending, then plummeting. He channeled the catastrophic energy of a failed Foundation-Building breakthrough into one finger strike.
“Heaven’S Wrath!”
The heavens darkened. The sect leader, mid-flight, was struck dead-on, his escape shattered. The [Yanmo Hall]’s gates slammed open.
Boom!
Heaven-Mending Peak’s leader crashed back into the abyss, his scream drowned in thunder.
