Chapter 916: Who Said I'm Alone?
Chapter 916: Who Said I’m Alone?
Kuro coldly sneered, “You think your calculations are flawless, but what makes you so sure you can dominate the sea just like that, Old Man?”
He extended his five fingers and clenched his fist with force.
“Sea Whirl Hell!!”
The seawater beneath the ship suddenly churned into a massive vortex. Waves surged around them, then erupted into a towering tsunami that crashed down toward the ships below.
“Sink already!”
“Blackbeard's Laugh! Just like this—this strength! I don’t know what Pluton’s power is, but this force alone could annihilate an entire island!”
Marshall D. Teach laughed uproariously, unshaken. He tightened his fist, a faint white ring glowing around it, then hurled an explosive punch skyward.
Boom!
Crack!!
The air exploded with a thunderous boom before shattering like glass. The shockwave rippled through the incoming waves, freezing them mid-crash. The water froze in place, then splintered into shards. The monstrous tsunami, powerful enough to obliterate an island, collapsed harmlessly into droplets. The vortex below vanished in an instant.
The seismic power of the Quake-Quake Fruit!
“Blackbeard's Laugh!” Marshall D. Teach roared. “Kuro, this technique won’t work on me!”
He raised both hands—darkness swirling in his left, the white ring of force glowing in his right. “The Dark-Dark Fruit that absorbs anything, the Quake-Quake Fruit that destroys everything! Old Man is the strongest!”
He pointed at Kuro, his missing tooth flashing as he grinned. “I’ve brought out my full arsenal just for you! Take a good look—this strength!”
“Wahaha!” Basas struck a bodybuilder pose with his arms raised.
Shiryu gripped his hilt, the cigar between his lips curling upward.
Van Augur aimed his firearm at Kuro.
Laffitte twirled his cane, a sly grin forming.
Daidon placed his hands on his hips, puffing out his chest. “Muru~”
Near the ships, a spiky-haired man emerged, his head comically large—large enough to dwarf the ship itself. His chest sank into the sea as San Juan Wolf, the pirate known as the “Sinking Grand Line Wolf.”
He wielded two pistols, a wine gourd slung behind him, his tongue lolling out as he wore a harlequin hat—‘Big Drink’ Basque Shot.
On another ship, Poison Q crouched atop a trembling horse, its legs shaking violently, as he grinned eerily at Kuro.
And—
“Gecko Moria!”
Kuro’s voice darkened. “Why are you here?”
Eleven ships in total. Besides Marshall D. Teach’s flagship, the original number four ship had been replaced. Standing atop it was none other than Gecko Moria!
“Shishishii… Shrimp Shrimp.”
Moria grinned. “Of course I’ve joined Blackbeard’s crew.”
“Exactly, Blackbeard's Laugh.”
Marshall D. Teach extended a hand toward Kuro. “Kuro! Come with us too. I never wanted to fight you. What’s the point of being a Navy officer stuck obeying stupid rules? You’re a true strong man—you should run wild, break free! Come on, let’s conquer the world together!”
“You’re joking, right?”
Kuro narrowed his eyes. “Conquer the world? Marshall D. Teach, aren’t you getting a bit too arrogant?”
“Blackbeard's Laugh! Rejected, huh? Guess I’ll just have to kill you then. Your ability will be put to good use by someone else!”
Kuro slowly pulled out a cigar, lighting it as he exhaled smoke. “Besides… who said I was alone?”
Buzz!
A sharp, slicing shockwave echoed violently. From the fortress’s shattered hole, a streak of emerald-green blade energy surged forth, cleaving the sea apart as it rocketed toward Blackbeard.
A shadowy afterimage flashed. Shiryu dashed toward the blade, drawing his sword Raikō. He slashed, intercepting the attack mid-air. The two blades locked for a moment before the emerald streak shattered, dissipating into the Grand Line.
Shiryu spun mid-air, landing on the ship’s bow, his blade flicking with a decisive motion.
“This slash… dangerous,” he muttered, eyes fixed on the fortress’s breach.
From the hole, a figure stepped forward. His hawk-like eyes gleamed, his lips curling into a smirk. “Interesting… Rainbow Shiryu, huh?”
“Hawk-Eye!” Marshall D. Teach exclaimed.
More figures emerged from the breach.
Crocodile’s lower body shifted into sand, floating mid-air as he smirked coldly. “Marshall D. Teach, huh?”
He held no affection for Blackbeard. He’d been defeated by Whitebeard honorably, unlike this gutter-born pirate. Now was his chance to settle the score.
“Crocodile!” Marshall D. Teach’s expression darkened.
Behind him, Boa Hancock strutted forward, her long legs accentuated as she tossed her hair, her gaze filled with disdain. “Marshall D. Teach. The target of Luffy’s officer’s hatred.”
“Hey, what the hell? Are we going to war now?!” Buggy shouted, his body split into pieces, clearly agitated.
“No need to panic. This was inevitable. Perfect timing to show everyone why I deserve to be a Seven Warlords of the Sea!”
Joe Rudolph followed, clenching his fists, his expression grave yet expectant.
The new Four Emperor, “Blackbeard” Marshall D. Teach—his name was legendary. Even inviting Joe Rudolph himself.
But the Seven Warlords title suited Joe better. For someone not yet officially inducted, this battle would be his stage.
As for Buggy…
“I’m not excited—I’m terrified!” Buggy shot Joe Rudolph an irritated glance. How could he fight? These were Grand Line legends! He’d only brought a few lackeys!
Kuro had specific orders—not just the Seven Warlords themselves, but their crews too.
Even Dracule Mihawk brought his ghost-eating girl. Boa Hancock brought her two sisters.
Crocodile had Daz Bonney. Joe Rudolph brought his Four-Man Group.
Buggy? Mr.3, Alvida, Mucki, and Kabaji. A… questionable squad.
How was he supposed to win?
Fleeing? Not an option.
“The new Seven Warlords of the Sea, huh? Yohohoho!”
Laffitte chuckled. “What a surprise! I see Marshall D. Teach’s Admiral and Joe Rudolph joining Golden Lion’s side!”
“Muru.” Daidon eyed Boa Hancock. “I’ll hunt her.”
Hunting beauty was his passion. The “World’s Greatest Beauty,” Boa Hancock, was his ultimate target.
No need to search anymore.
“Evil laugh! This is quite the predicament!”
Marshall D. Teach tilted his head toward Kuro. “You figured out Old Man’s plan, didn’t you, Kuro!”
Kuro kept his cigar clenched, silent.
He hadn’t guessed any plan. He’d just sensed something off and called them over for safety.
Never expected you bastards to actually come.
