The demonic rose waved its vines, its vibrant flowers opening and closing like a hungry mouth eager to devour its prey.
"This is the effect of Split Demonic Rose," Yue Bei explained, "it copies the attack power of its attack target."

Two vines, like tentacles, bound the Interdimensional Survivor's hands, one on each side, while two other vines pierced through its chest like spears. The Interdimensional Survivor was instantly pierced through, exploding and leaving the field.
"Of course, with the protection of 'Samurai Spirit,' Split Demonic Rose itself won't engage in battle with monsters of the same attack power and be destroyed."
Yue Bei smiled triumphantly and slowly played another card with two fingers.
"Then, I activate the Spell Card, 'The Treasure Scroll of Earth and Sky.' During the turn you perform a Tribute Summon, you can draw two cards from your Deck. However, the drawn cards cannot be used this turn, and at least one of them must be Set on the field."
Yue Bei drew two cards, glanced at them, added them to her hand, and then selected three cards from her hand.
"I Set three cards, and my turn ends."
"Three Sets in the backrow, that's terrifying," Yuuugen remarked calmly.

A flash of pitch-black lightning erupted from the dimensional rift on Yuuugen's field, crashing down like thunder. The lightning exploded on the ground and transformed into a tattered cloak, and the cloaked warrior returned once more.

Yue Bei glanced at the rift in the air and suddenly understood.
"A dimensional rift?"
The effect of the dimensional rift sent all monsters to the GY, but instead of going to the Graveyard, they were banished from play. After the Interdimensional Survivor was destroyed in battle, it would naturally be banished, triggering its own effect to revive itself on the field.

"I activate my Set Trap Card, 'Sahara Sandstorm'! Destroy one Spell/Trap Card on the field."
The target of her destruction was obvious.
"Destroy the Continuous Spell, 'Dimensional Rift'!"
The spell that had been a thorn in her side until now vanished into nothingness within the sandstorm.
Yuuugen remained unfazed and proceeded to the Main Phase.
"Tribute the 'Interdimensional Survivor' for a Tribute Summon! The emperor who governs the power of light and thunder—

The Interdimensional Survivor vanished in the storm of the tribute, as the white-hot lightning and thunder gathered, transforming into rolling thunder that struck the ground.
Where the thunder exploded, the emperor's cloak billowed in the wind. The white emperor hung in mid-air, and the swirling lightning resembled a thousand troops awaiting orders.

"The Demonic Rose is only invincible in battle," Yuuugen explained, "but it's powerless against effect destruction."
Yue Bei: "I activate my Set Trap Card, Sin-Bearing Darkness! When a card on the field is destroyed by an opponent's Spell, Trap, or monster effect, negate that activation and send a Level 3 or lower DARK monster from your Deck to the Graveyard."
As she finished speaking, a large cloud of black mist emerged from her Trap, forming a fog-like barrier in front of the Demonic Rose. The Thunder Emperor's lightning bolts all struck this swirling cloud, disappearing without a trace, like stones sinking into the ocean.
"Using the Thunder Emperor to break through the battle-invincible Split Demonic Rose is a good idea," Yue Bei chuckled, "but it seems my skills are still superior."
Yuuugen declared, "Then I activate the Equip Spell, Rainbow Robe."
Yuuugen revealed the Equip Spell in his hand.
"Equip it to Thunder Emperor Zagor."
A rainbow-colored energy enveloped the Thunder Emperor, like a magnificent energy armor shimmering with colorful radiance.
"When a monster equipped with Rainbow Robe battles, during the Battle Phase, the effects of the opponent's monster it battles are negated."
Yue Bei: "!"
In other words, if the Thunder Emperor battled the Demonic Rose, its effect would become invalid, reducing it to a mere 0 ATK.
But what shocked Yue Bei wasn't just that.
What truly startled her was that this Equip Spell also affected her own body!
Yue Bei had evolved in space by absorbing light waves, and now her body had three different forms. Regardless of the form, her original ATK was always 0. However, her body couldn't be destroyed in battle, and she could reflect battle damage back to her opponent, which was her primary combat strategy.

"Thunder Emperor Zagor, attack Split Demonic Rose," Yuuugen declared, "And during the Battle Phase, the effect of Rainbow Robe will negate the effects of the Demonic Rose during the Battle Step."
Yue Bei: "Tsk."
However, the Split Demonic Rose had another effect. When destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, it would leave behind two tokens. These tokens could be used as Tribute for a Special Summon during the next turn, providing decent sustainability.
Now that the Dimensional Rift was destroyed, even if the Demonic Rose was defeated, on the next turn...
"During the Battle Phase, I activate the Quick-Play Spell, Light Deification," Yuuugen announced, "Special Summon an Angel-Type monster from my hand. The ATK of the monster Special Summoned by this effect is halved, and it is destroyed at the end of this turn."
