Chapter 911: Accompanying the Coffin
Chapter 911: Accompanying the Coffin
No! No, no, no!!!
As he stared down the dark barrel of the gun aimed at him and saw the cold, black eyes of Lyon, ten times colder than the gun's muzzle, the remaining two bodies of Hexa-faced Stag ignited in a desperate attempt to cling to any chance of survival.
However, the quality of the firearm in Lyon's hand was exceptional. The 'base materials' for its forging were the bloody executions of forty real gods, followed by the sacrifice of more than half the members of the Executioners' Syndicate and an enormous amount of materials accumulated by the Purge Bureau over the years.
Once an abnormal object of this caliber was unleashed, it was akin to falling into the truth of the Wall God, leaving no room for struggle. Even the Hexa-faced Stag, standing at the pinnacle of the Dead Realm, couldn't escape the binding restraints.
"Shi Shen!!!"
Seeing that their struggles were futile, the Hexa-faced Stags, their eyes nearly bursting from their sockets, opened their mouths in unison and unleashed a hysterical, shrill roar.
"Don't push me, or else..."
"Bang!"
Despite the threat from the Hexa-faced Stags, Lyon's finger didn't hesitate for a moment. He firmly pulled the trigger.
A black nail, imbued with the aura of death, flew from the Engraver's mouth, piercing through the unrecognizable head and spewing out petroleum-like blood. It quickly froze into black ice crystals, creating another flower of death on the muddy red carpet.
After the nail completed its execution of the dead, another nail, responsible for executing the living, flew from the same direction and position. It shattered the Engraver's head, spraying fresh red liquid onto the already frost-covered carpet, creating a ripple of white steam.
It's over...
Seeing the black ice crystals stained with blood, Lyon realized that Lyon had made up his mind and would not yield to any threats. The Yellow Earthworm of River Excavation's face turned pale with despair, and he let out a mournful howl, raising his head.
Under Lyon's vigilant gaze, the Yellow Earthworm's massive body suddenly shriveled, temporarily freeing itself from the execution stake and binding chains. A strange creature with an elephant's nose and six different faces, covered in slime, emerged from the Yellow Earthworm's mouth.
Was this the true form of the Hexa-faced Stag? Lyon narrowed his eyes at the sight of the small, wet gray-haired beast and sensed the scent of death emanating from it. Without hesitation, Lyon raised his long gun again, aiming at its head.
It didn't matter; as long as it was a dead being, it couldn't escape the execution of this long gun. It would only be a matter of repeating the process!
However, to Lyon's surprise, the Hexa-faced Stag, which had emerged from the Yellow Earthworm's body and was now bound by the execution stake and chains, made no attempt to resist. It stood in place, allowing the bindings to hold it, its twelve pupils devoid of whites, filled with hatred yet also a hint of satisfaction, as it stared back at Lyon.
...
"Oh dear! This is troublesome!"
As Lyon frowned, puzzled by the Hexa-faced Stag's strange behavior, a voice filled with exasperation suddenly sounded from behind the Scorpio Director, who was observing the standoff between Lyon and the Hexa-faced Stag from a distance.
"?!?!"
Edward, who had somehow returned his two hands to his body, was shocked to see the Square-Headed Elder appear behind him, accompanied by Emma.
"Three?!"
"Shh! Shh!"
Waving his hand to silence Edward, the Third Generation Director, appearing calm and collected with not a hair out of place, gazed intently at the distant confrontation between Lyon and the Hexa-faced Stag. With a worried expression, he said, "I didn't expect it to go this far... Lyon's in trouble this time!"
"Third Generation Director?"
After hearing the old man's words, Emma, standing behind him, tensed up. "Is Lyon in danger?" she blurted out anxiously.
"Hmm... It's not exactly dangerous, but if things go wrong, Lyon might survive, but it'll be as good as death for him."
What?! Emma's face paled at his words, and she grabbed the old man's arm.
"Elder! Can't you do something?"
"Tsk..." The old man glanced at the Scorpio Commissioner and realized he had to explain. "Didn't Lyon tell you? The coffin you sent off was empty, so this little girl wasn't inside. As for why I'm here... That coffin they're lying in, embracing each other, is the one I used when I died. And as for my lingering vow before death, it's natural that I appear wherever the coffin is."
"But your coffin..."
"Stupid! Lyon's soul strength is already equivalent, if not superior, to that of a typical real god. Besides my coffin, which other 'sage's' coffin could have healed his soul's wounds to such an extent in just a few hours? Use your brain!"
Emma's expression remained unchanged, and she seemed to understand something.
"And I'm not here because I'm afraid to die, either!" The old man suddenly seemed to remember something and looked at Edward with a cautious gaze. "I was a lingering vow to forge something, and this powerful object was created. If I had died without seeing its effect, my life would've been a tragedy, right?"
"I..."
"Enough, no need to explain further. Believe it or not, it's up to you." The old man waved his hand, signaling Edward to be quiet. He adjusted his slightly loose pants and then turned to look at Emma, who was anxiously waiting. He sighed, his eyes filled with meaning.
"Little girl, your man is in trouble now. If there's a way to help him, but it requires your sacrifice, what would you do?"
What would I do? Emma's eyes widened slightly as she seemed to understand the old man's intentions. She bit her lip, her expression slightly dazed, and she could almost see her daughter's tearful figure waiting for her return.
"If Lyon is in danger, tell me what to do, and do it quickly!"
