Chapter 910: The Demon Planting Bag
Chapter 910: The Demon Planting Bag
Upon hearing that distant yet familiar name, Ge Pu couldn't help but feel dazed as memories from the past surfaced in his mind.
"Yunxu Realm... A true disciple of the Sky Sword Sect... Unknowingly, it has been over fifty years since I returned to the Dongxuan Sword Sect."
"I wonder how those fellow disciples, who couldn't migrate with us back then due to limited capabilities, are doing now."
A wave of emotions stirred within him.
Under the protection of several Nascent Soul True Lords from the Sky Sword Sect, he, as the top true disciple who had just advanced to the Core Formation stage, was brought back to the Dongxuan Sword Sect.
Relying on his talent and hard work, he cultivated to the mid-Core Formation stage and became a core disciple within the Sword Sect.
While his status and position were vastly different from what he had in the Sky Sword Sect, he had long since adapted to his new life, only occasionally reminiscing about his time there.
Among those memories, the figure of Lu Xuan often appeared.
Calming his emotions, he respectfully replied to the young man: "Reporting to Senior Brother, Junior Brother indeed originates from the eastern wilderness of the Yunxu Realm."
"Back then, the entire Eastern Wilderness suffered countless invasions from demons and beasts, causing innumerable casualties. Even more than one Nascent Soul True Lord fell, and out of desperation, several True Lords from the sect had no choice but to escort a portion of the core personnel to the Dongxuan Realm, returning to the Sword Sect."
Ge Pu briefly described what had transpired.
"I have heard about the demon incursions," the young man said. "But there is another matter I wish to discuss with you now."
"In the Liyang Realm, one of the Seven Realms of the Central Continent in the Yunxu Realm, there is a powerful sect called Liyang Daoist Sect. They will be hosting a Grand Spirit Assembly after some time, and the Sword Sect is among the invited guests."
"For this trip to the assembly, Sword Master Hai Zhen will be leading the team, and he will also be bringing along some disciples from the Sword Sect."
"Having been away from the Yunxu Realm for so many years, I wonder if you would be interested in returning for a visit?"
The young man inquired gently.
"I am willing to accompany Sword Master, Senior Brother, and the others on this journey," Ge Pu replied without hesitation, nodding his head.
The young man before him was named Mo Yuanfeng, a true disciple of the Dongxuan Sword Sect and a cultivator at the early Nascent Soul stage. With a promising future, his strength was no weaker than some of the outer sect elders of the Sword Sect.
As for the Sword Master Hai Zhen he mentioned, he was a late Nascent Soul cultivator whose strength ranked among the top in the entire Dongxuan Sword Sect. He was also proficient in various exotic and profound sword techniques and had researched and created numerous mystical high-level sword talismans, earning him an exalted status within the Sword Sect.
"Very well, the assembly is about a year from now. I will notify you when the time comes, so you can prepare accordingly," Mo Yuanfeng said with a nod.
Expressing his gratitude, Ge Pu took his leave. As he walked away, his strides gave off a sense of increasing ease and relaxation.
Within the thousand-foot-long giant sword, a middle-aged swordsman stood motionless.
The middle-aged man carried two silver-white swords on his back, their hilts shaped like dragon heads. Two silvery-white ribbons encircled him, resembling a pair of silver-white flood dragons dancing with boundless icy sword intent and soaring killing intent.
Floating before him was a pitch-black talisman, shaped like a sword tip and shimmering with a dark glow. Upon closer inspection, one could sense countless faint black sword auras swirling within the talisman.
Countless sword auras converged, and sword intent surged as if about to burst forth from the talisman. The lingering yin energy gave off a peculiar feeling of both chilliness and sharpness.
"A sword talisman imbued with a large amount of yin energy, and it's a fifth-grade one too. Interesting," said the middle-aged man, who was none other than Sword Master Hai Zhen of the Dongxuan Sword Sect, an expert in various sword talismans.
However, this pitch-black sword talisman before him was something he was seeing for the first time.
The talisman had been obtained by a friend of his from a secret realm in the Yunxu Realm, who found it novel and brought it back to present it to him personally so that he could study it thoroughly.
The middle-aged man was deeply intrigued by the cultivator who crafted this fifth-grade sword talisman.
Upon learning that the Liyang Daoist Sect in the Central Continent's Yunxu Realm would be hosting a Grand Spirit Assembly, he readily agreed to attend, intending to search for clues about the origin of this unique sword talisman.
"Let's observe it a bit more and see if I can recreate it," he murmured, his mind delving into the enigmatic black sword talisman.
Far away in the Leihuo Star Cave of Liyang Realm, Lu Chen was oblivious to these developments that were closely tied to him.
After tending to his spiritual fields and nurturing the various spirit herbs, he decided to pay a visit to the Fengyuan Star Cave.
"It's been a while since I last checked, so the demonic spirit herbs in my Underworld Spirit Field should be fully mature by now." Lu Chen mused to himself.
He instructed the Grass Puppet to watch over the cave abode and, after some preparation, set off toward the Fengyuan Star Cave.
Upon entering, he concealed his presence and swiftly made his way to the fifth layer.
From a distance, he could sense the aura of Ling Gu, who had taken on the form of a human.
Ling Gu had been waiting at the entrance with the Meat Spirit God, and they greeted Lu Chen eagerly.
The large meatball bounced over to Lu Chen, its fur still bearing traces of bloodstains.
"Don't rub your bloody fur on my robe." Lu Chen admonished gently, extending his jade-like palm to prevent the Meat Spirit God from staining his immaculate robe.
Unbothered by Lu Chen's rebuke, the Meatball continued to bounce around playfully, seeking closeness with its master.
"How about that little Thousand-Handed Demon? Has he been behaving?" Lu Chen inquired.
The Meat Spirit God rolled forward, nodding enthusiastically.
"No problem at all. He's been very well-behaved." It transformed into a ray of bloody light and darted into the cave abode, emerging a moment later with the Thousand-Handed Demon in tow.
The Thousand-Handed Demon appeared unchanged from their last meeting. However, the moment it laid eyes on Lu Chen, the hundreds and thousands of hands on its back shot out, attempting to strike him.
A flash of bloody light swept over, causing the hands to wither and shrink back, leaving only the ones closest to its body intact.
"Roar!" The Thousand-Handed Demon let out a low growl, a mixture of anger and deep-seated fear.
"If you don't behave, Meatball will eat you up," Lu Chen threatened with a smile, satisfied with the Meatball's disciplining methods. He then stepped into the cave abode.
Ignoring the intricate restrictions, he made his way directly to the Underworld Spirit Field.
"As expected, all three Soul Insect Fungi have fully matured." Lu Chen kicked away a lewd corpse skin that was slithering toward him, his attention focused on the precious fungi.
Below each of the three Soul Insect Fungi, the translucent progress bars were completely filled.
Lu Chen harvested them one by one, temporarily storing them in the Gluttonous Worm Pouch. Suddenly, his gaze was drawn to three white spheres of light floating nearby.
He reached out and gently touched the closest one.
The sphere shattered silently, transforming into countless specks of light that soared into the sky before coalescing into a slender river of light that flowed into Lu Chen's body.
Simultaneously, a thought flashed through his mind.
Harvested a fifth-grade Soul Insect Fungus and obtained a sixth-grade treasure, the Demon Planting Bag.
As the thought vanished, a sinister red bag appeared before Lu Chen.
The bag was crafted from an unknown leather, dyed in a sinister mix of black and red. It exuded a strong bloody aura, as if it had been soaked in blood for hundreds of years.
Lu Chen focused his mind on the bag, and detailed information about it surfaced in his sea of consciousness.
Demon Planting Bag, a sixth-grade treasure. The bag contains pure demonic aura and can accommodate demons, greatly benefiting their growth.
