Chapter 91: Thoughts on Official Publication
Chapter 91: Thoughts on Official Publication
I received notification from the editor that the book will be officially published tomorrow at midnight.
As is customary, here are my thoughts on this occasion.
First and foremost, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the readers who have been following and voting for my book. Your support means the world to me, and I bow to you with a grand gift.
Speaking of which, the success of this book has somewhat exceeded my expectations. After all, we all know the challenges of writing in the wuxia genre these days.
However, my passion for wuxia is genuine. Even now, I vividly remember when I was in my first year of middle school and discovered a copy of "The Young Flying Fox" in a bookstore near my new home. That story took my breath away, and from that moment on, I was hooked. During my three years of middle school, I devoured the entire works of Jin Yong and most of Gu Long's renowned novels.
As a reader on Qidian, I also came across many wuxia fan fictions and felt a deep resentment towards the five factions' journey.
However, when I became a Qidian author myself, I didn't venture into the wuxia genre.
If it weren't for the recent wuxia writing contest inspired by Gu Long, I probably wouldn't have considered writing wuxia. After all, making a living comes first, and hobbies come second.
But seeing those familiar names in the wuxia contest brought back memories of my teenage years, when I would stay up all night reading and chat excitedly about the stories with my classmates during the day.
It stirred my passion and ignited my enthusiasm! I knew I had to write! I had to join this contest! Fortunately, my previous book was already nearing its conclusion, so the timing was just right.
And so, this book was born.
However, I have passed the stage of youthful fervor and the relentless pursuit of being the best.
As an ordinary person, I can only write ordinary stories, and the protagonist in my book, even with his golden finger, is still an ordinary person. He is not a savior or a chosen one; he is merely a passerby and a wanderer in the rivers and lakes.
The story of the jianghu would unfold with or without him.
The protagonist has no grand goals; his only objective is to be a kind-hearted ordinary person and strive to change the tragedies of the original story.
As for becoming the best in the world or holding sway over the wulin...
I couldn't care less!
Famous swords, fine wine, breathtaking beauties, enjoying the show from the sidelines—what more could one ask for?
Well... mainly because I can't write such a domineering protagonist anyway, hahaha!
These are my thoughts, which I wanted to share with my dear readers.
Now, let's talk about the book's update schedule.
Tomorrow, with the official publication, I will update with ten chapters! (Applause)
Then, we'll return to two updates per day! (Confetti)
I'm a bit clumsy when it comes to typing, but I still strive for perfection. I want each update to contain some small highlights and humor, but that's not an easy task.
Sticking to two chapters a day keeps me just outside the zone of writing fatigue.
That's what I did with my previous book as well. The bad news is that there are only two updates per day, and no extra chapters. The good news is that there are always two updates, and no missed updates.
However, with this book, I've decided to challenge myself and add a little pressure.
For every 1,000 monthly tickets, I will add one extra chapter.
For every alliance leader reward, I will add two extra chapters.
I'll keep pushing myself until I can't take the pressure anymore (and having the right to interpret things in my favor is a beautiful thing)
.

Well, that's the end of my thoughts on official publication. Now, I shall return to writing.
Oh, and one more thing...
