"You dare intrude into our headquarters, thinking you can hide your identity? You have guts, I'll give you that!" Danzo's voice was icy cold, his tone filled with contempt.
In all his years, this was the first time he had encountered someone who dared to defy Root so brazenly.
"Gather our forces! We will eliminate this outsider!" Danzo ordered without hesitation, his staff thumping heavily on the floor with each word.
He was determined to find out who dared to be so audacious, thinking they had more than one life to spare.
"Lord Danzo, should we inform the village about the attack on Root?" One of Danzo's escorts, Aburame Torune, asked cautiously from the side.
"No need." Danzo immediately dismissed the idea without a second thought.
The only reason Root existed and was tolerated by the higher-ups in Konoha was that it served as an incredibly sharp sword to be wielded against their enemies.
If it were ever discovered that this sword had lost its edge, then Root would no longer be necessary.
Therefore, not only would they not notify Konoha, but they would also have to conceal this incident.
The key to everything was to quickly and decisively eliminate the bold intruder!
Without further delay, Danzo stood up, his staff thumping rhythmically on the floor as he led Torune and a group of Root ninjas towards the battlefield.
