Chapter 902: The Sunlight Secret Realm (Part 1) - Sunlight Village
Chapter 902: The Sunlight Secret Realm (Part 1) - Sunlight Village
Jenny hurried over, grabbing Su Yu's sleeve. "Come with me, the Matriarch wants to see you. You'll understand everything once we get there!"
Before Su Yu could respond, a mechanical female voice echoed in his ear:
"Welcome to Sunlight Village!
You are the first adventurer to arrive in Sunlight Village. As a reward, your strength will be used as a benchmark to limit the strength of future adventurers.
Beep...
After detection, your level is 84.
From now on, the strength of the next 49 adventurers will not exceed level 84, effective immediately."
As the mechanical voice spoke, a golden glow flashed about 30 meters behind Su Yu on the open ground.
It seemed the secret realm had added some new restrictions.
Su Yu fell into deep thought.
"Level 84"?
The method of level determination in this secret realm had nothing to do with the Skrull people, but it was identical to the method in the Evolution game.
Could it be that...
The "Final Secret Realm" is somehow connected to the Evolution game?
But he didn't have time to dwell on that now.
Jenny was already pulling him away from the grassland, heading toward the center of the village.
...
After leaving the grassland, the two walked along a main path paved with pebbles.
Su Yu kept a wary eye on his surroundings.
So far, he had no idea what he was supposed to do in this secret realm, and the body he was inhabiting was too weak. He needed to be extra cautious.
On both sides of the main path were rows of houses built with stone and wood.
However, the architectural style of these houses was quite peculiar.
Based on Su Yu's limited knowledge, the style of the buildings here was completely different from that of Earth (both Eastern and Western) and also distinct from the ancient Skrull architecture.
Su Yu had once robbed the national museum of the Runkte Alliance and knew what their ancient buildings looked like.
From this, it was clear that the little blue people in the village were unrelated to Earth humans or the Skrull people. They belonged to a different civilization.
...
As they walked along the main path, Su Yu saw many little blue people going about their business.
Some of the little blue people sat by the roadside, selling various items, while others were simply on their way.
Everyone wore a gentle smile, appearing quite peaceful.
When they saw Jenny and Su Yu, whether they were vendors or passersby, they all stopped and bowed to Jenny.
This showed that Jenny held a high status in the village.
Seeing this, Su Yu thought to himself, "I should try to get closer to Jenny; I might be able to learn some crucial information."
So, as they walked, he casually asked, "Jenny, you have a high status in the village, right?"
"Of course!" Jenny turned to look at Su Yu. "The Matriarch is the highest authority in the village, followed by me! I'm also the Matriarch's future successor, currently undergoing training."
Jenny clenched her fist, looking quite innocent and adorable.
"Oh, I see." Su Yu nodded.
He then turned his gaze to the vendors on the street. "Do you use these shell coins for daily transactions?"
The vendors and passersby were using a type of white, shell-shaped currency for their transactions.
These shell coins were not as durable as metal coins. From Su Yu's observations, many of the shell coins received by the street vendors were cracked.
From this, it could be inferred that this type of currency was only used within the small village.
"Right."
Jenny didn't know why Su Yu was asking this, but she nodded anyway. "We've been using these shell coins for generations. The villagers only recognize these."
"Are there any other villages nearby?" Su Yu continued his questioning.
"Other villages?" Jenny tilted her head, thinking, her eyes filled with confusion.
After a moment, she shook her head. "I don't know, there probably aren't any. As far as I can remember, this large lake has only one village. I've never heard of any others."
"Is that so?" Su Yu rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
It seemed this secret realm wasn't like the faction wars he had encountered before. If the secret realm still divided players into factions and had them fight each other, there might have been two villages. The two villages would vie for resources like food, eventually dragging adventurers into their conflicts, creating a perfect script for faction warfare. Since there were no other villages, the direction of this secret realm must be different, perhaps focusing on cooperation to defeat a boss.
"Jenny, are there any enemies around your village?" Su Yu continued to gather information.
"Enemies? What do you mean?" Jenny looked puzzled.
"Animals or people that pose a threat to the village. For example, there's a large lake in front of the village. Are there any strange, man-eating fish in the lake?"
"Man-eating fish? No." Jenny shook her head quickly. "The fishermen in the village have only ever capsized, but I've never heard of anyone being eaten by a fish. Fish eating people? That's absurd!"
"What about the mountain?"
Su Yu and Jenny were walking from the river toward the village center, with the towering mountain directly in front of them.
Su Yu pointed to the mountain and asked, "Are there any man-eating beasts in the mountain? Or perhaps an evil god that demands child sacrifices?"
"No! You're so strange! Do you actually want our villagers to be eaten?" Jenny stomped her foot, upset.
This outsider was so rude! Did the villagers not deserve to live happily without any bloodshed?
"No, you misunderstood me." Su Yu hurried to explain, smiling apologetically. "As an outsider, I want to contribute to the village so that the villagers will accept me. I'm here to help!"
"Then you should ask the Matriarch. She might know." Jenny gave Su Yu a gentle push on the back.
As they spoke, they had already reached the village center. In the middle of the village stood a three-story stone building. The pillars were intricately carved with beautiful patterns, and the walls were adorned with vivid murals, making it stand out from the other simpler homes.
This must be the Matriarch's residence.
They were now at the door of the building. Jenny pushed the door open and nudged Su Yu inside.
"Matriarch, I've brought the person," Jenny said, bowing respectfully to the depths of the house.
"Thank you, Jenny," a gentle yet aged female voice replied from the back of the house.
"Adventurer, please come in. I have the answers you seek," the kind voice called out again.
At the same time, a tightly closed door in the house "thumped" open, revealing an elderly blue-skinned woman in a white and gold robe.
"Alright." Su Yu stepped into the room.
Jenny followed closely behind, carefully closing the two doors after Su Yu entered.
